Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#121Looks fantastic! Thanks for the epic map, your hard work is deeply appreciated/admired.

Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#122Yeah. Sweet map! Love the brown and yellow colors. Thanks Tuss! -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#123What sort of brushes did you use? -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#124the map was created using Campaign Cartographer 3, vector line black & white style. All the marks are preset in the style.
It is a 60 mile x 60 mile map but had to be created using a 120 mile x 120 mile map so that everything was clearer due to pixalization... and the fact that I copied over the old map :P
the yellowing was just done in photobucket to give it bit of character -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#125Ok, I'll say it...
It reminds me of a gigantic pelican-dragon, swallowing a godshard, amidst the Ocher of the Ethereal Plane -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#126I was gonna say sock puppet grabbing a cookie, but ok, I can see that too :P -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#127counted up XP, but no one is 2nd level yet, But 1 or 2 are close :) -

Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#129Is Dozus wandering off a story element, or did he leave the RP? -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#130Good question, although even if it's because he left the rp I don't see why our chars wouldn't be trying to track him down regardless. -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#131Pretty sure Dozus isn't playing, I'm awaiting official word from him via fb :)
Coldmist on map is supposed to be Coldmoat.
Tusserk is away a few days, but I believe he left standing instructions with Sil.
In-game Dozus's fate is currently a mystery, but not necessarily a story element. Nor is it not necessarily a story element...either. :P
To Summarize:
Dozus wandered off in a daze.
Echo is exploring his clericiness, elvishness, goddess, and mighty powers of exposition.
Val is being like val :)
Sil and Wolf have...officially bonded. :sherlock:
MysticMoon is having some trouble it seems...adjusting.
Tusserk wants to spear something already and become a second level monk.
Alls well!
Onwards! Happy Hunting! Some great posts by the way folks! -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#132
Tusserk is away a few days, but I believe he left standing instructions with Sil.
Aye, he's gone until Sunday and left me enough details to cover his chars actions up to, (and including) an encounter with a red dragon. -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#133Note, I wouldn't mind to shoot a few hapless raiders to get to second level :) -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#134Raiders would be nice, but I'm happy with anything within our challenge level, trolls and undead horsemen are just a little more than we can handle right now, unless possessing our chars secretly leveled us up to 5th level or so and we just haven't realized it yet ;) -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#135Regarding the castellan: Obvious traitor is obvious. -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#136Regarding the recurring plot twist "The dog is not allowed inside anywhere, ever", I'd just like to interject that:
a) I rolled a critical to get the dog into the castle, but it did not help at all.
b) From the point of view of getting the story moving, if we continue to split the party all the time, we'll not get anywhere, ever.
c) It's no fun for Carly if her character isn't allowed to come along.
Just my $ 0.02 worth is all.
-
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#137a) Yes your roll got all of you and Lucky inside castle courtyard.
b) only time someone splits off, is when they stop posting, aka Myst :) (because he's under weather, but sent pm, "how about i'm lost back at the market")
c) I feel bad for Lucky too at the moment, but geez, she's a GIANT WOLF :P Why would Clodo have a giant wolf trot inside a council chamber? Lucky will have plenty of action, as will everyone, fear not.
What's sadder is that we seem to be down to 4 active PCs :) -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#138I'ma just keeping my fool mouth shut. Parties make terrible negotiators... -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#139I rather like striking fear into guards with a growl, and I was eyeing the Castellan up as my first target should a fight break out so I can't fault him for wanting to get out of my sight asap.
Getting left out of the convos is sometimes annoying, but really thinking on it more, after the way the poor poacher peasant reacted I I'm sort of better suited as party interrogator, when it comes to dealing with the peasantry at least. :P
I do appreciate you speaking up on my behalf though Echo, thanks.

Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#140(On a side note since all of us are old college friends what's everyone else's real first name? Any of them start with Al?)
Nope, no one named "Al", but the clues are there, bwahahahahahahahahahahaha...hahahahahaha....ha. :) -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#141for the elves in the group...
Remembering:
1) When in a calm state, they can tap their vast reserve of knowledge. This allows them a huge plus to any check to know just something about any field of knowledge and lore. In calm times, this will extend to languages as well. (Those they don’t know, they can often figure out or make a good guess at).
2) Given some time to reflect on a situation, they can perform any “non modern” action without negative modifiers for lack of skill. Example: They might have ridden a horse sometime in the last three thousand years, so they just have to spend a moment to remember how. They won’t know how to pilot a new fangled Steam Jack because they are a recent invention.

Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#144In regards to the bolt shoved into my arm/shoulder, would it be possible for me to use the monk's dodge/deflection against non magical ranged weapons? Have to roll against Save vs Petrification to deflect or dodge.
I'm going to assume no since I am hanging out a window but never hurts to ask since I have 2hp left :D -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#145I have consulted my DM's Twin Crystal Balls of Answers, and they say...
"Tell him yes, but not in hindsight. Next shot, or any future shots, we can do the dodge. Plus he's hanging out a window. Plus you rolled a 19, so tell him to bite you."
The balls have spoken :P -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#146Killed/Slain/Outsmarted/Defeated/Obliterated/Burned/Escaped From Successfully
1 Troll 1400 XP
2 bonus baby trolls 300 XP
Coldmoat/Clodo 1500 XP
Found
(saved) Willem Mell (200 XP)
1 trollish gold nipple bracelet 60 GP (30 XP)
1 gruesome Pole-arm (???) 1000 XP
1 big book (???) 1000 XP
1 set of fancy Bracers (???) 1000 XP
Now I just have to go back and add the Reeve's Men turning XP and the minor treasures you found and the slaughtered guards from the Arms and Antlers, and we're ready for division!!!! Woot.
-
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#147Copy/Pasting...
4 Reeve's Men...290 XP each
We'll say 14 men-at-arms combined. At an xp value of 15 each.
Not sure what you’re expecting from a bunch of 1st level men-at-arms but here you go…
34 pieces of silver, 40 pieces of copper, 2 masterwork daggers, several suits of undamaged plate mail armor (I’m guessing no one’s going to actually carry suits of armor?), several perfectly functioning crossbows and quarrels, a leather jerkin studded with several rough-cut garnets (22 gp value), a helm in the shape of a bear’s head (4 gp value), a small map of an unrecognizable area, perhaps the area you’re in, highlighted with a few castles called “Marlingspike”, “Coldmoat”, "Webhold", and “Stoneknock”, as well as a river named “The Sluggard”, and what looks like a giant swamp, labeled, “Soulmarsh Vast." A few towns, Blackton, Nebberdon, Yarm's Gate, dot the northern portion of the map.

Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#148Bonus XP for excellent RP'ing and other nebulous stuff...
400 XP each. -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#149Soo, looks like 7120 total, 1424 each (5 way)
-
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#150didn't take into acount the miscellaneous equipment. But muro is adding 600 each so... 2k + stat bonus if any
-
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#151Missed 3 of the reeves men. 290 x3 /5 = 174 more each.

Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#152Accessing her elven memories, tapping into the ancient lore of the area, thoughts came to Sil, but vague and foggy...
The Bracers once belonged to a Felvis Rodden, who centuries earlier first began obsessively breeding eels for his castle's giant moat. The bracers offered some sort of protection for his particular brand of odious work, as well as...
The memory faded. Nothing else on the bracers.
The pole-arm, yes. The pole arm belonged to a Fedolf Rodden, and was used to smite his enemies, also centuries ago. More so, the vicious Fedolf had apparently been fond of using the polearm for public executions. Headtaker the weapon came to be called, and apparently it was quite good at its job. It began to long for heads to take.
The Book belonged to the erstwhile Lady Iolina Rodden, one of the few practitioners of magic in the entire history of the Rodden brood. Upon its pages were esoteric tales from bygone ages, and hidden cleverly within these tales, were the Lady's spells.
There you have it, not as good as an "Identify", but still... :) -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#153Putting this here for reference... HP roll for level 2 (as witnessed by val, Sil, and LW... although I'm sure their version was in English):

Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#159I've got one item to ID, assuming echo and sil are going to be a while I can begin the 8 hour process of fondling it before actually casting identify. Come one, come, start bringing requests, as long as it takes a few day to reach the alchemist I figure they can all be rolled at least once. -
Re: Guardians of the Citadel OOC
#160
I've got one item to ID,
Three actually, the polearm, bracers, and book (assuming we show the newly arrived mage the book which I assume we do?) and a fourth counting the blade that stuck Mystic, five if the ichor coating the blade counts as a separate item.
