Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1
#202milords, milords, milords...
Does I have a red one, you ask? :reddevil: I know it isnt technically a dragon, but it is a sleek sexy import with turbo-handling. Look at the lines, good body design, and much more economical keeping it fueled. It looks like a super-sport, but it runs on the souls of dupes, henchmen, and occult followers. I'll cut you a deal on him too, I've had him on the lot a bit long, and people wonder why Drake has a demon on his dragon-lot. Trade ins...
Ah, sir what was that question, eating princesses? Well you see the Dragon is a high performance creature and requires suitably rarified fuel to sustain it. This cannon be base meat, but instead must be the flesh of viginal princesses. Some dragons are able to run on un-virgin, but this is mainly the smaller compacts and economy dragons. They are actually trying to design a dragon that runs on Munchkin, but the problems since Munchkin is much more volitile than Princess.
Ah, master Shadoweagle, I bought me advertising space in the cheapest section of the Citadel. Dragonselling isnt a real steady business. I can go for months without selling even one, and then, BAM, I sell six or seven in a month. Besides this is a high traffic area. I'll cut you a deal on a good dragon, if you are interested. You look like the sort who could use a nice, fiery beast to terrorize your foes and eat pesky adventurers. -
Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1
#203... to terrorize your foes and eat pesky adventurers.
... and burninate the countryside,
burninate all the peasants,
burninate all the people,
and the thatched-roof cottages...
thatched-roof cottages!
And the dragon comes in the niiight! -
Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1
#204Aah, my. Whats that one hiding over there? I am quite intrigued by this particular fellow. :sdragon:
I can indeed see how well he would curl around my tower when not active, giving me that solitude I desire oh-so much.
But I do prefer speed and agility over brute strength and firepower. What are the specs on him? -

#206I see no plagiarism =/
I hope you arent referring to Kinslayers message. -
Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1
#207Anyone familiar with the StrongBad e-mails (from Homestarrunner.com) would get the joke and know the reference. Anyone not familiar would simply not get either.
It's fairly obvious in a binary way, like all such humourous references, and as such customarily lacks attribution. -

#208Plagiarism is bad, but bad spelling is sexy -

#210In the twilight , there is a presence. That of significant power, of incarnations that dance in the firelight. The Forum has resurrected and longs for Her children. Her gates open, lo, the children feel Her embrace...
We gather...

Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1
#214The coal-black towers of the City, soaked in a poison fog, dripping with chilly, ashy moisture, where smoke poured forth from grates and the alleys lay compacted in the refuse of nine generations of living and dying humanity; endless factory-fortress-prison-city of the Moderators, where unimaginable armies of robots and clones marched forth through the cities, beyond into the lands where no living City-ite had ever been, out there where the pollution was not so great, where there were not buildings on every side, to fight in the War, so long in ending that it was forgotten what it had ever been about, or who the enemy had been, or whether or not it was even won- all that mattered was that the war had to be continued, the last, panicked, gasping thought of a dying civilization that culminated in this huge soot-black pit. -
Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1
#215Hmmm... Well that was apocalyptic, wasn't it? -
Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1
#216I have an idea...what about a post-apocalyptic setting using the time-line of mouth full of dust? -
Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1
#217So it began, a group of primitives huddled around a meager flame. They carried crude weapons of wood and stone, and were dressed in rags of fur and leather. They were afraid.
And thus it ended, a glorious civilization. Space travel, and wonders of medicine that conquered manifold diseases and ended the fears of cancer and aids. We held the fruits of the universe in our hands. We made war, terrible was upon ourselves.
We end, the desperate and the dissolute, huddled around a meager flame. Our weapons are crude, clubs and knives from an age of lasers and plasma. Our clothing is in ruins, and the shoes on our feet have seen their last mile.
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang
But with a whimper -

We are under heavy fire, Sir!
Oh my god, the logical brain is invading.

The numbers are overwhelming us, swamping us with technical information and math research.

#229Put together a homemade box out of plexiglass and a ripped up rubber shower mat. Took all my left-over computer parts and slapped together something that looks electronic. Couple hundred for a touch screen 7" and another hundred for a opus dc-dc power supply and you got yourself a handy dandy carputer with video, mp3, game, and GPS capabilities.
