Re: Freetext Friday
#201Thank you! I think I'll give this one a go as well :) -
Re: Freetext Friday
#202Alright, Friday! And now for a subject near and dear to everyone here, I'm sure: Computer. This is probably a more sci-fi or modern one, but maybe you can do something surprising with it? -
Re: Freetext Friday
#203A little late, but even so: I present to the Freetext Friday The Demon's Grove -
Re: Freetext Friday
#204Let's give rebel a try; this one has lots of room for interpretation. Robin Hood and Luke Skywalker are heroic rebels, Confederates could be villainous rebels, communist revolutionaries could be morally gray, and then you could have your Rebel without a Cause types, too. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#205I want a Soldier. Real soldier, toy soldier, elf soldier, lady-disguised-as-a-man soldier, I don't care. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#206Tempted. Sorely. Need to get my hands on some creative juice, either of the caffeinated or alcoholic variety! -
Re: Freetext Friday
#207They say that a Diamond is a girl's best friend. But it could also be her worst enemy, or part of some sort of high-tech industrial equipment, or used for lasers. Or a bunch of other stuff, I'm sure. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#208I think we've done kings and queens, but this week, for July 4th, the freetext will be President. Real states, fictional states, giant space federations - all fair game. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#209Let's look at those crazy things people wear. clothing. Give me fashions, magic underwear, societal rules - there are all sorts of places to take this one. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#210Next up is Door. sci-fi, fantasy, trapped, locked, blast door, screen door, hatch - lots of places to go. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#211In the Navy
Yes you can sail the seven seas,
In the Navy
You know the drill.
But do you have cool navy stuff to post? -
Re: Freetext Friday
#212This place needs more werewolves. Or werefoxes, wereseals, wereplatypi, etc. So this week, the freetext is lycanthrope. They can be bestial or sexy, nice or naughty, well-meaning or malevolent. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#213Let's do children today. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#214umm, that could have been worded differently, but oh well... -
Re: Freetext Friday
#215You have to take it in the proper context.
As for this week, well, with the new Doctor last week end, let's make this week's freetext Time. We may have done this one before - I don't remember. Tough noogies. Let's do the Time Warp again! -
Re: Freetext Friday
#216For a genre that makes up a lot of movies, the Spy Thriller seems rather underused in RPGs. Well, let's see what we can do to correct that. How does espionage work in the Cosmic Era? In the realms of fantasy? Bond, Bourne, Mata Hari, eat your hearts out. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#217No? Well, let's try another. Swamp. Easy enough to make a location with that freetext, but can you make an NPC or Item or Plot that deserves the Swamp freetext? -
Re: Freetext Friday
#218You know you want to give this freetext a try: it's Destiny. Give me Chosen Ones, prophecies, cruel fates, and so on. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#219Let's try Rifle this week. Super high-tech rifles, colonial expeditions, repeaters. Take your pick. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#220Let's do Merchant next. We can do that one, right? -
Re: Freetext Friday
#221What a foul night to be cursed. That's the new Freetext. I think items may already have a cursed subsection, so perhaps think of people or places suffering from a curse. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#222All hail Dragonlordmax, the Lord of the Freetext!! -
Re: Freetext Friday
#223
All hail Dragonlordmax, the Lord of the Freetext!!
It's a lonely life being Lord of the Freetext.
Let's try Conjurer. What makes a conjurer different from a wizard? I don't know; you tell me. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#224It's Friday! And Halloween! Let's do Ghost! Surely there is inspiration for such today! -
Re: Freetext Friday
#225 -
Re: Freetext Friday
#226Wooo! Participation!
Let's stick with the undead theme and go on to Liche. Certainly more of an adventurer's kind of undead than the conventional ghost is, I admit. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#227Let's do Ape this week. Apes are a staple of literature - Cheetah, Gorilla Grodd, whatever that ape's name was from Murders at the Rue Morgue. There are a lot of ways to go with this one, so hopefully, someone can come up with something. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#228Hmm, this challenge is just begging for an Ape Lich... -
Re: Freetext Friday
#229Apparently, baby is a freetext. Let's do it! -
Re: Freetext Friday
#230Not all that glitters is gold. Not normally, anyway, but this week....
Give me anything that has to do with gold: jewelry, impractical weapons, mines, dwarves, you name it. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#231Here comes the sun. Here comes the sun. Give me strange, alien suns. Let me see your terrible sun-dwelling monsters or your divine embodiments of that glowing orb. Eclipses, spells, other worlds. There is potentially some great stuff here. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#232I think we may have done Giant, but rather than go check, I'm going to pick it again. Conventional giants are fair game, as would be things built by giants, people descended from giants, or really big animals. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#233The new one is hovercraft. I have no inspiration to offer for this one, so let's see if you can surprise me -
Re: Freetext Friday
#234Perhaps it is full of eels? -
Re: Freetext Friday
#235Eels on a Hovercraft? It could work. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#236
Perhaps it is full of eels?
I see what you did there. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#237 -
Re: Freetext Friday
#238It's only a stub, but I hereby present The Holy Hovercraft of The Ice Bears. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#239Aww yeah, we got one!
The new Freetext is Hobbits. Short people who eat a lot, I ink that pretty much sums them up. But I bet that there are places to go with them! -
Re: Freetext Friday
#240"What has it got in it's pocketses?"
Hobbit sounds like a fine one to go for, challenge accepted! I'll do my best to rustle something up ready to submit on Thursday!
