Oooh. Totally forgot it was Friday yesterday. But here's a new one:

Colony. Space colonies. British colonies. Roman colonies. Dwarven colonies. Ant colonies. Suffice to say that there are a lot of different kinds of colony. You could even go for colony ships, colonists, or mysteriously vanished colonies. I think that this is a freetext which has some definite merit to it, so let's see something good.

Much like wizards, a freetext is never late, nor is it early, it arrives precisely when I remember it.

That said, let's celebrate the recent movie release of the Hobbit and indulge our softer, more decadent sides with the hobbits freetext this week.

Like (highly irregular) Clockwork, it's Freetext Friday again.

Clockwork is kind of like steampunk - you can do a lot of stuff with it. Let's see what people come up with.

The only thing better than being king is being emperor. That's our freetext this week.

Let's try Avian. Does that wound like a good Freetext for a week?

Let's see if that bird has wings

Hey Verne! We got one! Sorta!

For our next, increasingly late, freetext, let's take a crack at a good ol' staple of the adventure genre: Acid. Just think where we'd be without the stuff. No Melf's Acid Arrows. No pools of acid in Metroid. No acid-sprayer guns. No acid rain, or acid-scarred faces. Truly, it would be a sadder, more basic world, if probably a safer one for fictional characters.

Will give this one a shot. *Pirate accent* When be the deadline m'dear? Arr.
  11. Re: Freetext Friday

Nominally, each freetext lasts for one week, Friday to Friday. Practically, they sometimes go an extra day. Actually, I'll comment even if you miss it by a week or so, as long as I notice it.

Sounds fair enough to me. Just wish I had more time to make it look nicer. I just don't want it cluttered with HTML each time I edit it. (I'm forced to write it all on Strolen's, piece by piece)

Remember, one great rock show can change the world. That's why, this week, the freetext is going to be Musician.

Be excellent to each other. And. Party on, dudes!

Let's try a license for our next freetext: Doctor Who. Anything that would seem appropriate to such or which is based on such.

A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!

Horse is our new freetext. Whether Silver, horse-person, cavalryman, or horse-shaped mech, your horse-based submissions are welcome.

You know what're neat? Undead. Bony, malevolent skeletons; cruel, hungry specters; zombie comedians; whatever.

That's the freetext for the week.

Let's go all Counterstrike with the Terrorist freetext.

    Devil! Let's hit it, folks!

    Very nice, thank you!

Also, time for a new one: Flower. How's that?
  21. Re: Freetext Friday

    #141
    Apparently very popular.

Now, I really like Forganthus's Marilanth Flowers. So this week, let's have our new freetext be Poison.

    Sound good?
  22. Re: Freetext Friday

I would humbly suggest the freetext Metal for this week.

Oh no, where's Dragonlord!? I was going to try out a freetext challenge but noticed it was a couple weeks old! :o

    I'm still alive, just forgetful.

Time for a new one. To celebrate coming back from death, however brief, howzabout Zombie?
  25. Re: Freetext Friday

    #145
We already did TMNT, so let's broaden things up a bit with ninja. Lesbian stripper-hood is totally optional.

    Barkeep. Let's hit it!
  27. Re: Freetext Friday

    #147
Is it possible? Could it be? Bard?

Yep. Give me your bards. Shouldn't be too difficult. In a lore keeper sense, they ren't too far off from what we do here, are they?
  28. Re: Freetext Friday

Gladiator! Or Gladiatrix(!) if you prefer. I want hardened warriors, dedicated to entertaining the masses through the spectacle of mortal combat. Or places where they do it. Or people who train them. Or plots centered around them. Or planets which are secretly places used to breed hardy warriors for the entertainment of great space-faring races. Anything, really.
  29. Re: Freetext Friday

There's already a "30 Gladiators" sub somewhere ( I think it's hidden atm ),  so here's a list of 30 More Gladiators for your amusement.

Okay, I've missed a few Fridays. Let's try to get back on track.

Death. I'm not sure what this one is all about, but I'm sure people can have some good ideas.
  31. Re: Freetext Friday

    #151
Friday! And here's a freetext! Weird, huh? No? Well, give me weird, then.

I assume this is for weird fantasy sorts of stuff, but take it as you want to.
  32. Re: Freetext Friday

Is this two in a row?

This week, let's talk animals. Specifically, Moose. Hardly a common animal in fiction, but one that deserves more attention, I think.

    Squirrels are optional.
  33. Re: Freetext Friday

    #153
Go on, axe me why you didn't get one this Friday. Well, now you've got one. Another weapon freetext, there's plenty of room for axes.
  34. Re: Freetext Friday

    #154
Ah man, that should be an easy one!

Thanks for keeping this going Dragonlordmax!!!

    I do my best, Sir!

    Mirror, mirror, by the desk,
    Is this week's Friday Freetext.

    (Boo, hiss!)
  36. Re: Freetext Friday

    #156
Why, I do believe it's Friday.

Our new freetext is historical. That's one that doesn't lend itself to an obvious interpretation, so you can go for all sorts of stuff, I think.

They say that diamonds are a girl's best friend. This week diamond is also a Strolenite's best friend.

So, last week did have one, unmentioned here (it was demon), but now it's time for a new one: Clown.

    Woooooo!

    Wooo! We got one!

And now it's Friday again. And time for another freetext: Mine. Specifically, I'm thinking of resource-gathering mines, rather than land mines, but whatever floats your boat.

Imagine mines of exotic materials or in exotic locations. What's it like mining an asteroid, or another dimension? You could have haunted mines or mines run by malevolent outlaws or feudal overlords. Dwarf fortresses can be mines. So on and so forth.
