Re: Freetext Friday
#81A shame I missed last weeks challenge, might do a follow up on it though. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#82I'd be happy to see anything you post. But now it's Friday, and thus time for another freetext.
We've already done vampires, so this week, let's do lycanthrope. Whether turning into wolves, panthers, rats, bears, or whatever, lycanthropes are basically people who turn into animals. But there's plenty of room to go with this one: NPCs, lycanthrope-friendly items, plots. Give me an order of wererat hunters. Investigate the city of werebears. Take werewolf porn to it's natural conclusion. It's up to you.
Also, Strolen, you sent me a PM a few days ago, and I think I responded, but I never heard back, so if you didn't get it, suffice to say that the thing you were talking about doesn't work. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#83Hmm, let's see....
Howzabout that most Celtic of enemies: the giant. Big, lumbering, not too bright. You know the drill. Of course, giant things could also be good. -

What about a gigantic statue? Would that be accepted? -

What about a gigantic statue? Would that be accepted?
Hmm. It's hard to say with absolute certainty without seeing it, but sure, give it a go. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#86Updated!!
((Admins, until I get Dragon access, some of you should be able to do it from the Strolenati page in the main Citadel)) -

Sort of a giant statue that houses the essence of something, evil, and very large :P -
Re: Freetext Friday
#88I just created a 40-meter tall mutated monstrosity. It's a giant AND an exotic mount, thus fitting into two FF categories. *eyebrow waggle*
Presenting The Hellephant -
Re: Freetext Friday
#89I'll check it out.for the moment, though, a new one.
Let's go a little non-European fantasy: sultan is this week's freetext. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#90I have fallen tragically far behind on this. So here's this week's belated freetext: non-Euclidean. Do with it as you will. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#91Down with the man! Up with the new world order! This week's freetext is revolutionary. Communists, angry commoners, distant colonists, brand new ideas... there are all sorts of things which can be revolutionary, so let's see some of them. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#92I like statue - let's do that. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#93You know what we need? Another freetext! This week, I propose femme fatale. Give me those deadly, lovely women that no PI can get enough of, and which every PI has too many of. Or something closely related to them. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#94When there's something strange,
in the neighborhood,
who'ya gonna call?
This week's freetext is ghost, whether malevolent specters, terrifying phantoms, or friendly ghosts. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#95No takers on ghost? Let's try for a weird one this time:
underwear
Magic corsets, shielded skinsuits, codpieces of holding, giant underpants manufacturers; there's all sorts of crazy stuff to cover with an underwear theme.
EDIT: Actually, let me change that. Underwear isn't the sort of thing people are too likely to ever look up, so let's make it the more general clothing. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#96Question: What is freetext? And how do I win at Freetext Friday? -
Re: Freetext Friday

Question: What is freetext? And how do I win at Freetext Friday?
Well, there is no winner to Freetext Friday (actually, everybody wins at Freetext Friday).
But here's how freetexts work: When you submit a... submission, near the bottom there will be a spot to enter a freetext. You just write in the Freetext Friday word, assuming your post is appropriate, and submit, and it works, like magic! -
Re: Freetext Friday
#98And magically you get bonus XP as well. I think 5-10 at the moment (would have to dig into the code to find it so not positive, but there is a bonus!) -
Re: Freetext Friday
#99I see. Thank you for informing me. Now I have to go write up some mage's clothes. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#100I checked, it is 25 extra XP and I updated the site tracker to log it if you do a freetext. That way, if we decide in the future to do an award or something for it, we will have it logged. Glad you mentioned it, got me to fix it!! -
Re: Freetext Friday
#101Dragonlordmax, favor for the freetext. Can we use established freetext instead of new ones? For instance, there was already a tag for clothes and now we would add one for clothing. Just take a quick look and see if we used one already. If it is new, then awesome and it is no problem, but if there is one that will fit your mood...would be better to use the same one. For this one, I am changing the previously made sub to match clothing to keep them the same. Freetext really does need another spring cleaning probably. :) -

Ah, yeah, sorry. Normally, I do try to check, but since I changed this one, I only checked the first time, and missed that there was a double for the second. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#103Ah, Saturday, the day after Friday, when I know that I'm late.
Looking about the house, I find a good inspiration for this week: dog. Man's best friend. Surely there are fantastic adventures to be had involving our canine companions? -
Re: Freetext Friday
#104A dwarf and his dog. I think I can do something with that. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#105Hey, it's probably still Friday in the western Pacific or something, so here we go. This week is all about the elf. Tolkien, Norse, Santa - there are lots of different kinds of elves out there, so there should be plenty of choice. Heck, redefine elf. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#106Everybody's favorite day pertaining to Freetexts - Friday!
This week, let's talk gloves. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#107That's no moon, it's a starship. And it's also our new freetext. Big kilometer-long suckers, little one-man squib fighters, refueling bases, designers, there are lots of places to take this one. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#108Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Heroes in a half-shell, Turtle Power!
They're the world's most fearsome fighting team!
Blah, blah, you know the rest.
This week, the freetext is tmnt. -

Re: Freetext Friday
#110Let's go from sewer reptiles to giant piles of gold reptiles: dragon is our new freetext. It's classic! -
Re: Freetext Friday
#111It's not just dragons that love gold. Now, let's move on to Merchant.
Great aristocratic houses, Silk Roads, Beedle, and assorted others - there are lots of merchant related things out there. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#112Booze!
This week's freetext is alcohol. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#113A lot of fiction involves Ancient Culture. Roman analogues. Hunts for the forerunners or the ancients or the first landing, or whatever. So I want stuff that has to do with these people. Things from the time before. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#114Put a rose between your teeth this week, because our new freetext is Romance. I don't have to terribly much to offer this week as advice, so that means it's up to you to create something impressive. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#115 -
Re: Freetext Friday
#116See! I didn't miss last week! I just knew that romance was such a great freetext that it deserved two weeks! Really!
Anyway, this next week is Troll. Now I just need to actually comment on these romance subs.... -
Re: Freetext Friday
#117Freetext Friday is the bomb, or at least this week is! Explosives, demolitions, assassinations, etc. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#118What a joyous time of year. Let's try a Christmas freetext. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#119Do androids dream of electric sheep?
Is AI this week's free text?
All signs point to yes. -
Re: Freetext Friday
#120The future is now! The new year is on us, so let's dream up some new things that may or may not ever happen:
This week, the freetext is arcology.
