Now, let's have some fun with a Festival!

    Shield. Let's do it.

    This week's freetext is dice.

Edit: It is absolutely imperative that this week's freetext be Time Travel. Trust me, I'm from the future - there's no time to explain!

Let's do Priest. Strange clergies, odd preachers, Richelieus, Savonarolas.... There's a lot of room for priests, so let's see some.

Howzabout Law? Blue laws, new laws, lawyers, judges. All good stuff.

What with the World Series on these days, how about Arena? Any place where sports are held should be fair game, but I'm sure there are other places to take this, too.
  7. Re: Freetext Friday

    #287
On a related note, let's now shift to the people in the Arena: the Entertainers. Bards, robot gladiators, pianists - you name it.

You know, there's a whole RPG out there based on maids, but they don't even have a freetext here. This week, let's remedy that. The freetext is maid.
  9. Re: Freetext Friday

William Tell, Robin Hood, Legolas. Archers are classics. But let's drift a bit more towards their trade: Archery.

    Yay!

We will now be moving on to Computer, then. Whether supercomputers, ordinary laptops, or fantastic or otherwise equivalents, give me your computing machines, those things that revolutionize the world!

Apparently, we have a shovel freetext. Let's see what people can do with that one.
  13. Re: Freetext Friday

    #293
I think I just recently invented that one :D

That shovel post is from last year! It's gotta be more recent than that!

But today, apart from being Christmas, also marks the 949th anniversary of the coronation of William I of England, AKA William the Conqueror. Let's celebrate by making King our freetext for the week.
  16. Re: Freetext Friday

Little late, but let's keep going. How about occult? Crowley, strange rites, weird parties, cults, magic spells.... What more can you want?
  17. Re: Freetext Friday

    #297
You know what's cool? Tanks are cool! I want your alternate panzers, your steam tanks, your hover tanks, whatever you got.

;) I plan to be like one of those ancient fellows with the really long beards in the movies. You know, the type who've guarded some ancient secret for 10,000 years?

Who's the real person behind the monster of the week? It's Red Herring! No, actually, it's not. But the freetext for the week is! Hard to imagine what qualifies for this one, but I'm thinking things that look suspicious or sinister but are totally innocuous. These are always hard to pull off in a game, so bonus points for taking practical concerns into consideration in your post.

With Valentine's Day coming up, let's do Love.

Wow, I've missed some here. phone is next. Phones are things that have a lot of potential, so let's see what the future might hold for them. Urban fantasy apps? Fantasy cell phones?

    RAAARGH! Bear!
  25. Re: Freetext Friday

    #305
robot is next. Robots may be powered by steam, clockwork, conventional engines, nuclear power, small forest animals, or assorted other things. They may be friendly, hostile, or emotionless. I want yours!

Keep em coming! My plate is very full but I wanted to start doing 100 words on these awhile back. I'll get to it again........someday!

I like it! But try to actually include the freetext in the entry, please. Not a big deal.

Anyway, next up is Shadow. That's a broader one than robot, for sure, but I think that just means there's more places to go with it.

Two this time! Woohoo! Possibly because I'm super-duper late with an update.

We have plenty of uses of the princess freetext, but there doesn't seem to be a prince freetext. So, let's see if we can fill in that gap a bit.

    too soon
  32. Re: Freetext Friday

What a horrible night to have a freetext.
  33. Re: Freetext Friday

    #313
Alright, let's see if we can get back in the groove here. This week, we're doing Currency. Hard coinage or soft credits are both fine, but so are magical, psychic, or transhuman monetary systems, among others.
  34. Re: Freetext Friday

    #314
Conjurer is it this week. Could be a typical stage magician or a summoner type magician, or perhaps something else.
  35. Re: Freetext Friday

    #315
Gladiator! I think we've done this one before, but let's do it again. I think it's a good one. Lots of potential for gladiators in all settings.
  36. Re: Freetext Friday

    #316
fortification should work for this week - castles, forts, underground missile silos, mechanized space stations.... This could fit all kinds.

I think he will re-appear some time later. I vaguely remember once Val stepped in to throw the next freetext? Scras, you looking for comment or next word? If next word, I will randomly say it's "ancients" (I just ordered freetexts by quantity and picked one of the ones with only 1 sub to it that caught my eye, apparently CP wrote the only sub with the ancients freetext for the Winter quest)
