actually i really wanted to tell how damaging this site is, real people and families have been destroyed, and many live's ruined due to a foolish devil game with no meaning other then to kill and destroy innocent people.
now my life is in danger
and if i die for real~at least i know where it came from now, and they'll be aware of this site and what it's done to me and my broken hearted babies who have lost all and will be possibly loosing more still

Problem is and I curse myself and my misstep daily, any mods I put up are most likely to be destroyed by the next incarnation of the beta board. If I find it, I will put it up regardless though! -

#726Maybe part of the lull is what Ria mentioned, no emails when you get a comment. Maybe without that incentive then there is no reason to stop by for some. And this needs to start working because I am going to become a comment storm!!
I looked at the code and it didn't seem like it should have broke.
Anybody notice if they haven't gotten email since the conversion to the new server?
I may have to find a new mail function that works with the directadmin setup. The old simple one mail() might have been found insecure or something.
Will research after I finish my recursive homework dilemna that is haunting me. :) -

What about an auto welcoming script that is sort of like the flashchat when you login but in the shoutbox?
Beware the meatloaf today Strolen.
Just a bunch of short random welcoming strings to mix it up a little. Could be user created in a scroll or something and the script will pull a random from it to welcome each registered person when they login. -

#732Updated the quest so it can be seen on the main site.
(gotta tell me you put it up so I can edit it to make it viewable. You have seen the admin panel. :) )
On a different note, I cleaned over 20,000 (yes 20k) spam comments out of the comment database. Not sure how I am filtering them on the main site (don't care) but they kept popping up on 3.0. So I had to do some editing to the way comments are accepted, guessing somebody has something automated to push crap to me now and the IPs are too different to do a workable ban. -

#733Seen somewhere an Idea Seed by user test, featuring something like "test test sgvf". The problem is, it is not in the list of Idea Seeds (and a refresh hides it again, argh), so it occasionally pops up and vanishes like a ghost. It should be killed.
While following DL's comments, found another error on the (apparently hidden) submission, the plot Babysitting... isn't it one of yours, Strolen? The comment should be fixed (and the plot can be resurrected :) ).

#735I have also been spending more time on the site, not so much in the creativity department but I have endeavored to read, comment, and vote on submissions. I've been trying to get both new stuff that has come out, and hitting older subs that got lost in the shuffle, lots of subs with only one comment.
As for our new members. Well. That is for another discussion. -

#738Just to give you a glimpse of my life at the moment. :) and why I haven't been around too much.
If you know what First Sergeant is then you have a heads up. There are usually less than 30 or so on a base, all dependent on the size.
A First Sergeant died last weekend. Was working under his truck with a single hydraulic jack and it either collapsed or rolled off it. Either way, he was under it when it happened and he got crushed. Sucks big time. (didn't know him that well and I am fine, just crazy things happen)
One of my Airmen did something bad and is looking at max 5yrs per incident and there are 30+ incidents.
Another of my Airmen did the drug thing but is tied up with a bunch of craziness. Will probably go to court marshall which is not good.
Not to mention I have had to work normal shifts then go in after midnight 3 days this week so I am a bit harried lately.
Just wanted to let you know it might take me a week to get back to. It has been CRAZY! -

#741I did take a little break myself, mostly because I have been working so much lately. I have a 4 day weeked so I am hoping to do a mad dash on 3.0!
Any hints tips suggestions complaints about it are more than welcome. -

This is the first I've ever heard of it being offensive, and I think she missed the point, since the way I read it, he's snarking about the typical arguements used by atheists. However, I did the modly thing and sent her a pm asking her to clarify if she personally finds it offensive or if she thinks it might be offensive.
If it's the latter, I don't imagine anything needs to be done, but if she is offended, how do we handle this? -

#751I don't think Choas will care if we request him to change it, but if he doesn't want to on some other kind of principle, I am fine with somebody being offended. They can turn off signatures in their profile if they don't want to see it. -

From what I've read in the email, it seems to hint it might be considered offensive to aforementioned sensitive group. I propose to create a sensitivity council for the re-evaluation of all posts, submissions and signatures and their possible impact on all minorities and majorities.
Thanks for being a good mod, Ria. Was thinking about sending something like that, but words have truly left me on this.
Edit: Didn't see anything offensive about it, and I don't think we should request a change. -

I just worry that some other poor fool may take more offense to it than i do, and it is kind of personal as well, there are plenty of things i would add to my signatur, yet i manged to refrain from it, wehy cant others.
Not entirely sure how to respond to it. No one's been offended before, and if I remember correctly, isn't Chaos firmly within that group himself? I still think if anything, he's mocking atheism. Do we ask him to change it, ask him to explain it, tell her to turn sigs off?
How does one turn off seeing signatures, anyway? -

#754He absolutely is mocking atheism :) Can we just explain to her that CM is as hard-core a Christian as they come, and that he is making fun of non-believers?
I honestly don't think she understands his quote.
Also, I find it annoying, I must say, that she's new (I'm assuming she's new) and is worried about how "some other poor fool" will take that quote? Ummmm, since it is a pro-Christian quote, I don't see how any fool can take it any other way.
She can turn off the sig by clicking on her profile and 'preferences'.
My humble recommendation would be to
1. Explain to her that she's reading that quote ass-backwards (in a nice way of course) and that CM loves Jesus dearly :)
2. recommend that she turns off sigs
3. Tell her..Dont worry about how "others" will take anything, since we have never had this issue before and will most likely, never have it again.

Your call Ria, complainer doesn't seem that committed but probably really is offended but doesn't want to make a stink because she is new. I would go with trying to explain it. Thinking about it, not sure I would mention it to CM since he may respond with something in his sig to cause even more heartache.
Or, we all put ambiguous church quotes in our sigs.
