    More torture....
Mino Dance: Japanese Tokugawa era torture method. Those who could not pay the fixed taxes were dressed in a rough straw coat made of a kind of grass with long and broad leaves, called mino by the Japanese, such as is used by boatmen and other peasantry as a rain-coat. These mantles were tied round the neck and the body, the hands being tightly bound behind their backs with ropes, after which the straw-coats were set on fire. They not only received burns, but some were burned to death; others killed themselves by bumping their bodies violently against the ground or by drowning themselves. This became known as the mino dance (Mino-odori)-

Damn. I just read the last comment on my Glasyabols setting, and it left me feeling unsettled. It has a 4.5 after 6 votes, so in that I should be happy, but it hasnt generated any sort of comment string. I did Malhonne Tranchan, the half-orc rogue and got over 20 comments on her. But this setting only got three, some of my postings havent gotten any, but still got good scores.

AG said it was professional good, what he would expect to find in a game atlas, which I would take as a compliment. Well, I guess I couldnt take it as an insult since I do want to be published. But then he said that it didn't touch him, wasnt anything really out there. I could half a dozen settings a day, and twice as many characters, but they would be nothing special, bit players and useful sorts but nothing special.

The postnazi inside of me wants to wad it up and throw it away, call it a failure...but that's not right, at least 6 people voted on it, and it has a fairly solid rating.

    Hey man...

You write a lot of good stuff. Not everything can be over the top, pulitzer prize, nobel prize, award winning material.

Realize that you have the best average score on the site, that you write more than the rest of us, that you are judged on a harsher scale than most (because you are THAT good) and go on with life.

Glasyabolas was good, would have been very good for most. But sometimes you blow us away, and that was what I was referring to ;)

One more thing: (I am going to become ridiculously presumptuous here)
In the US people are very polite, very careful with their words. Me on the other hand; I am an european. A loud spoken, arrogant, distasteful and harsh bastard. You gotta love the cultural diversity of the web, right?

(I recognize that hurting pride, that ache in the chest. We get so attached to our submissions that we cannot stand to see a single bit of criticism... It is the pride of an artist)

You are terrific. Go on with your stuff.

I meant to ask you AG. You had a sig that said "I did it!" or something similiar....what was that?

    And what is a Strolenism?

(funny that I had to have Authentic Strolenite explained to me as well. :0 )

And Scras, you just plain rock! Your stat percentages are just unholy.

    I did it...
I found a way to enhance the execution speed of my algorithm by 10 times. I became so happy I jumped about shouting "I did it, I did it" and I even changed my sig here and on another server. ;)

Strolenite: A regular at Strolen's Citadel
Strolenism: The act of being an authentic Strolenite, contributing quality stuff on a regular basis. Often close to an addiction. :o

About the time I quit being an anonymous user and joined the citadel, MoonHunter proudly proclaimed that 20k articles had been posted. That was one year ago and now the 30 k barrier has been broken.

Currently listening to: Apoptygma Berzerk - Harmonizer
    What genre are they?
  36. Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1

    #356
    EBM.

Me, I like everything, but EBM, darkwave and such lies close to my heart. I was an indie and grunge guy in my youth so I guess this stuff isn't that far off.

Yep, I was just that. I had hair down to my buttocks even. That is about a yard/meter of hair... It was sex, alcohol and rock'n roll for me. No drugs though. I loathe drugs.
  37. Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1

    #357
So it's technically metal? Darkwave is supposedly one of those "gothic" genres but I try not to confine myself to just one genre when it comes to music...
  38. Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 1

    #358
Nah, not metal. Goth is kinda the right genre for darkwave, though I am reluctant to admit it :)

But Apoptygma is more like optimistic synth music (as opposed to the depressive goth synth music)

Must be my depeche mode /Sisters of Mercy /David Bowie longing that makes me listen to it ;)

    Here's a question!!
Which kind of music do you like more?? a song(with some one singing) or without anyone singing(just the music)??

    *If without singing*
Which music do you like?? the one that makes you clam or... or makes you feel like jumping around (I mean was the kind of music that makes you hype up a bit)??

    *If with someone singing*
Which song do you like?? romantic?? or something else than that??

I started reading it, but gave up after the "Hello Cthulhu Gone Wild" comic
