Re: OOC
#121:poet: Val, post, Goss post :-* -
Re: OOC
#122Short: Autumn rolled for repairs, succeeded to repair gravity botched the central control repair, and finally succeeded.
She takes 1 damage.
She then failed.
I rolled a 42 for her, succeeding in the end.
Sunny has enough time to analyze Irina.
Jerome has enough time to scout.
I will describe the progress of repairs in my next post. -
Re: OOC
#123Feel free to do stuff up to the moment when the power to the bridge comes online. It will take some time, as Autumn's work ain't easy. -
Re: OOC
#124I assume Quan is helping Autumn with repairs too? (At least until Dozus gets back to play him?) -
Re: OOC
#125Sure. -
Re: OOC
#126Did Quan get set on fire too? Just need to know before I post again. -
Re: OOC
#127Nope, Quan was handing you tools. You got blown up, Quan just got his suit smudged. -
Re: OOC
#128Just a short note: Kassy expressed interest in taking over Irina. I sent her the character; let's see what she makes of it.
Another note: don't worry, do not let the PC halo change your actions. -
Re: OOC
#129Are Autumns injuries sufficient to require a roll?
If so, any mods? I rolled 63 against medic skill of 60. Oops.
-
Re: OOC
#130And for the other two external wounds:
(20:37:21) Minion: valadaar rolls 1d100 and gets 18.
(20:37:26) valadaar: better
(20:37:29) Silveressa: perfect
(20:37:31) Minion: valadaar rolls 1d100 and gets 24.
So, 2/3 aint bad. I hope.

Re: OOC
#131Hello everyone, happy to be back on board :D
Reading through the info from Echo to get me up to date with my new char. Expect a post at some point today, probably within the next hour. -
Re: OOC
#132Posted and a little confuzzled. But will just have to roll with that. :cthulhu: -
Re: OOC
#133Edited my last post. Please re-read :) -
Re: OOC
#134I'm still with Irina, when do I enter? -
Re: OOC
#135As far as I recall, you headed for engineering in your last post, whereupon Irina, suitless, displayed common sense, left you, went for a suit, and led the Captain for the bridge.
So, you are in engineering, and certainly not with Irina. -
Re: OOC
#136Wuh eh? Autumn said to bring her to engineering, so that's what I tried to do, but if she didn't follow me then it stands to reason that I waited and then followed her, I have no reason to continue to engineering on my own. Might be a bit late to put that into a post? Anyways, I'm with Irina. -
Re: OOC
#137What "stands to reason" or does not is a matter of subjective interpretation.
Your character does what you write it does.
Your character doesn't do what other players tell it to do.
And if your GM says "You didn't write it, so it did not happen" then it did not happen.
Simple enough, really. -

Be grateful that your captain is just a bastard. -
Re: OOC
#139As Goss is AWOL, I am piloting Helia/Sunny. So feel free to address her. -
Re: OOC
#140Aye aye, cap'n!
Come back soon Goss! -
Re: OOC
#141Note: from Earth to the closest star, Alpha Centauri, is 4.3 light years away. So eighteen is not too distant. 3 systems away, basically. -
Re: OOC
#142When overgrown lizards are eating corpses in the hallway, anything not in arm's reach is too d@mn far. -
Re: OOC
#143I'm gonna step down. I'm not getting anything positive out of staying in this game anymore. My apologies to my fellow players, especially to those who have helped me out. :( I came into this game, honored and pleased that I had been asked to take over someone else's character, I had every intention to make good on that. I feel however that I have failed, playing and caring about a creation not my own was indeed very hard and at least for the time being, above my head. If I were to do something like this again, I would likely go for a lesser role, PCs are just too personal, with too many intentions attached, especially when taking over a character owned by someone who puts so much work into them.
Of course recent events and revelations have not made things any easier. And for a while I stayed on just for other's sakes, but my heart wasn't really into it and less so for each new hurdle, I even started avoiding the site just to dodge responsibillity, I simply dreaded it. Now I would be doing more harm by staying in than leaving, and so I leave. Fret not, for I am in every single pbp there is and you'll no doubt bump into me anyways. Peace. -
Re: OOC
#144It's sad to see you leave us Goss :(
You haven't failed in any way, no way! You tried your best and that's commendable. You also had the guts (I'm sure there's a better word than that one) to at least say adieu and tell us what it is that bothered you.
Taking over someone else's character is always difficult, a similar thing with pre-gen's, imagine the challenge I'm having with Irina :D
We'll see you around Goss. -
Re: OOC
#145Was away for the weekend, will be posting soon-ish. Stay tuned as matters develop! Also, love some of the ideas you tossed out there in your banter :) -
Re: OOC
#146Lovely, been eagerly waiting gall weekend for it to continue  -
Re: OOC
#147Aye, can't wait to see developements. *Goes to catch up what she missed over the weekend*.. -
Re: OOC
#148Posted.
If you have other questions, ask me :)
Meanwhile:
*I finally figured how guns work, a simple principle:
> Each weapon has a damage rating, expressed in dice. A light gun may do 2d, a shotgun 4d, and so on.
> Each die is rolled separately against a target number to see whether it wounds. The gun's quality determines the target number: the highest quality guns roll against 2+, while the worst have to roll 6 to wound. Each 6 is rolled again, for another chance to wound.
Yes, guns are quite lethal.
> Each armor works the same way: it has an armor rating in dice, and a quality that determines the target number. Each success cancels 1 damage.
Quality grades:
Flawless: 2+
Masterwork: 3+
Ordinary: 4+
Shoddy: 5+
Terrible: 6+
Jerome's Lasgun:
Masterwork Lasgun: 3d (3+)
Semi-automatic
12 shots, rechargeable battery
> Laser weapons are accurate: +5% to hit
> Can project targeting laser: +10% to hit, but gives away your position
> Smartlink-compatible (if you get brain and eye implants, it can feed info into your brain, reducing penalties for moving and distant targets).
> Weakness: shots blocked by water, smoke, chaff. Reflective armor counts double.
*I will be adding a special ability to each char after this chapter, based on his description. -
Re: OOC
#149So.
Irina is on bridge of the Lila?
Autumn heading to Dessy's bridge?
And Quan & Jerome heading to Dessy's hangar? -
Re: OOC
#150Aye sounds about right Echo, also Sunny is with Autumn I assume, unless she stayed on the Liracor for some reason? -
Re: OOC
#151Affirmative for me and Jerome. -
Re: OOC
#152Aye, Irina remained on the bridge of the Lila.
Will rig up a post after Silvy. -
Re: OOC
#153Choose a plan, kids, I'll be keepin back for a brief while. -
Re: OOC
#154As far as I understand it, the current plan is as follows:
Quan rig up the frigate for remote pilot.
-All of us to return to the Liracor and de dock, keeping the Dessy between us and the incoming vessels.
-Quan flies the frig out to greet the incoming starships and determine their intent.
-After hostile are destroyed, or friendlies waved off we contact Yulo and handle him in a manner still to be decided.
Let me know if I missed anything or misunderstood some part of the plan. -
Re: OOC
#155Just a note:
I put an important distinction between a character suggesting something to the others, and the character stating he does something.
So, if the plan is "to take the small freighter outside for Shenanigans(TM)" nothing happens until someone says "I take/send the small freighter out for Shenanigans(TM)"
Is a matter of personal GMing preference. -
Re: OOC
#156Aye makes perfect sense, I was mostly clarifying the plan to make sure I was on the same page as the rest of the players/GM given the time lag in pbp can make planning a little hazy at times.
Assuming my understanding of said plan is correct, I assume we are still on doing part of the Quan/Jerome/boarding and rigging up the frigate while Autumn and Sunny are actively going back to the Liracor where Irina is currently waiting. -
Re: OOC
#157Are Autumn and Sunny back on board the prize by now? If so do you they notice the transmission between Yulo and the arriving ships? Or does only Irina notice that?
(Need to know before I make my next post) -
Re: OOC
#158On board the Prize?
I thought you were headed for the Lila.
If you are headed for the Lila, then you arrive with 8 minutes ETA of the bogeys. -
Re: OOC
#159gah, meant to say the Liracor, was thinking about the Prize and the private com chat when I posted that lol. -
Re: OOC
#160Important notice.
Due to personal difficulties I might not be able to post every day. If I haven't posted within 2 days without explanation/being seen on the site then Echo can autopilot my char.
Silvy did volunteer to do so likewise, which if the GM doesn't have a problem with it she can.
Hopefully this all won't be necessary, but as a precaution it can't hurt. Hope to be on the mend soon.
