Re: OOC
#41Guys and girls, feel free to have a few flavor posts of your characters, then the Hollen's Prize will jump. -
Re: OOC
#42Flavour posts as in char introductions? I'm not familiar with the term. -

Flavour posts as in char introductions? I'm not familiar with the term.
Essentially it's where you write your own intro, of where you are on the ship, what you're doing etc.. and your initial interaction with of one of the NPC's (or bumping into a PC) -
Re: OOC
#44So what does it have for weaponry? Railguns, lazers, cannon? :)
-
Re: OOC
#45It has two laser turrets that go pew-pew-pew, one on the belly and one on the back. Very basic targeting systems, but then, light's pretty quick and accurate. Unless you're moving at relativistic speeds, it's point-and-fire.
As a laser is coherent light, it dissipates and loses punch after a certain range. Railguns and missiles circumvent this problem, but a) the Prize doesn't have them b) they're expensive and bulky. -
Re: OOC
#46After a discussion with Silver and Kassy, I am retconning some of the fluff. Ships DO have intertial dampeners, allowing for greater acceleration than a meager 1.5G which takes 10 days to get you out of system.
Of course, if you're boasting a military destroyer drive and pumping 700 Gs, then a dampener failure means you're strawberry jam.
Ships run on fusin drives to clear gravity wells. Outside thosem, they can erect a gravitic sheath which a) protects them from top and bottom, but not from sides and not at all from front and back b) has excellent acceleration. Switching on a gravitic sheath inside a stronger gravity field messes up your drives.
To enter hyperspace, ships reconfigure the sheath into colossal gravitic sails, and make the jump. This a) gives up the protection of the sheath b) can be done only out of system c) takes some time. -
Re: OOC
#47Is Jerome where he can intercede on this issue? If so, he will simply ask the computer to lock out the controls on that hatch.
Unless of course, this is a lengthy operation, in which case he will simply stop him.
"Wait - that is valuable evidence - without it we can't charge her with anything!"

Re: OOC
#48Val, was your previous post/shouted order meant for the in game area or OCC? (I went ahead and posted in game with a response that will work either way.)
(Oh and I'm not sure what Autumn's intimidation % factor is but I rolled a 29 on a d100 in chat for it, so hopefully that'll be good enough. ;) -
Re: OOC
#49It was meant for EM to use if the conditions were true - I'm not sure Jerome is in the scene currently!
-
Re: OOC
#50Ah, I rather assumed you were following along side us so you could search her bags for any weapons or contraband. -
Re: OOC
#51You can dramatically barge in, for all I care. If you could be there, you can write yourself in. Moar postage = better. As long as one dude does not hog all the spotlight, of course. -
Re: OOC
#52If my posting frequency becomes excessive just say the word and I'll slow down; in all of Muro's games I got used to the "post as often as you want it adds to the scene" methodology he endorses. -
Re: OOC
#53Minerva can choose to bunk with the doggie (Autumn), the cyber-merc (Jerome) or the half-alien doc ('Sunny'). -
Re: OOC
#54I'll be advancing the plot to the target star system in 6 hours. -
Re: OOC
#55Posted. Will start shooting Thursday, 23:00 CET ;) -
Re: OOC
#56WOuld you all be so kind and take into account that Moon stuck me with an NPC captain? I'm intentionally playing Yulo as an indecisive retard. Please do.... stuff. Recommend him stuff. Or ...
...if you have a feckin' good idea, take over the Yulo NPC and have him voice it. Yes, do this. -
Re: OOC
#57Roger that. -
Re: OOC
#58Pew pew pew commencing in 6 hours, unless someone comes up with something :-* -
Re: OOC
#59Engines all ahead full! Red alert! Dive, dive! -
Re: OOC
#60Good thing - the Desdemona missed, and you're out of line of fire.
Bad thing: rolled 94 for the pilot check, meaning the Prize sustained damage: 6 of 6 possible. Yay. -
Re: OOC
#61Woo! Chaos!
-
Re: OOC
#62My Basic Starship Repair skill is 65%. Anyone else have repair-related skills? -
Re: OOC
#63Minerva has no such knowledge as far as I'm aware, Autumn, teach, instructions, orders! -
Re: OOC
#6440% general engineering
-
Re: OOC
#65It should go without saying the mechanic has a few repair skills, specifcally:
Jury Rigging: 75%
Starship Mechanics: 55%:
Starship propulsion systems: 45%
These were the levels Mystic felt appropriate for the skills when he was GM, if you are fine with them being higher or whatnot let me know Echo and I'll adjust to the appropriate level for the game. -
Re: OOC
#66Quan'll take the mechanic's lead, then. He's not bad for basic stuff, but don't leave a warp drive core to him or anything. :P -
Re: OOC
#67Feel free to proceed writing, make some rolls where you think it's appropriate (such as to fix up fighters or the Prize, and then execute the plan). -
Re: OOC
#68Will anything happen anytime soon? Or shall I apply pressure? -
Re: OOC
#69'fraid I'm having an "empty" phase Capt'n..
Sever brain fog >. -
Re: OOC
#70Been out straight writing a few paid articles to keep the electricity on, but will definitely be posting something tonight at some point. -
Re: OOC
#71Yay, dramatic repair action. :P
Pressure commencing 23:00 CET. -
Re: OOC
#72Fast forwarding past the somewhat mundane repair scene would work just as well as applying pressure, and then cut to something more exciting, such as the impending Space suit assault against the Rogue vessel. -
Re: OOC
#73Woo, spacewalks! -
Re: OOC
#74Are ready to send the fighter thingies out? -
Re: OOC
#75Whenever the farg a player feels like writing about it.... :P -
Re: OOC
#76I had assumed that the direcktion of the fighters, given their hacked nature, would be the outcome of GM rolls and decisions.
Jerome can only order robots, not pilot drones..
-
Re: OOC
#77Aye, we're just waiting on Echo to give us the GM plot descriptions/resolutions of our executed plan and set the opening scene of our next encounter/area  -
Re: OOC
#78Ah, was that what 'scramble' means? -
Re: OOC
#79Yep :)
-
Re: OOC
#80And it has absolutely nothing to do with eggs, no?
