#241Tables!
If an open selection on numbers of columns is not an option, even being able to create 2,3 and 4 column tables would be fine for me. Ask Muro how I like my tables :)
-
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#242Tables in submissions?
Tables scare me as I am overdependent on them at the moment. A stray tr or td could ruin me. :)
I may open it if I can make the transition to mostly css but right now, probably not. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#243I may correct myself, I might have found a solution that will allow tables: http://htmlpurifier.org/
I will switch to this and see what happens. I will allow basically ANY html and ensure it is safe and properly formatted. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#244Ok, updated the posting script with html purifier so you can now, officially, have tables and whatever else you can come up with and it should all be safe!!!
So even those that have been screwing up the nesting of html and messing up the RSS I was working on...all that will be fixed too.
This is a great little class they came up with!
I have actually had it saved to update eventually anyway since it is much better than what I currently use. It is a better checker for XSS. The tables request just made me dig a little more into it and since it fixes tables too, it is a win win. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#245Check out [?] for some oddness with tables. There is huge whitespace before the table that I did not intentionally put in. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#246I didn't fix the html linking thing, I just made it ignore it. So if you want links you have to do the whole -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#247k.
Well Sub # then :)
Its not public so you need to use Admin Magic to get there ... -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#248Working on it. It is me somehow as I got it working in the comments, just still very odd in the main submissions. Just have to trace it and I ran out of time tonight.
-
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#249The odd spaces is gone. Now it takes away extra formatting it seems.
Closer.
You can rehide your sub if you like. I will test it on the one you already noticed. Thanks! -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#250On the Citadel proper, if I click on a user name or my own profile (not forum profile), it displays the stats on the left side of the screen, but the right side where the links to subs, comments, and the list of Highest Rated, HoHs, and HoHs given is blank. I looked at three different users, including myself, using Internet Explorer.
Edit: Also, the front page is messed up as well; "Hall of Honor", "Recent Submissions", "Random Submissions", "Advice Requested", "Recent Comments", "In Work", and "Golden Submissions" are all showing up as blank. The boxes are there, they're just empty. Category listings seem fine, as well as sorting options and quick links. If you hit "Add Submission," the summary and main submission text boxes appear as lines.
I'll check in an hour or so if it's the same in Opera. I suppose it could be *this* computer misbehaving, it's been a little odd today. Can another IE user check to see if they get this problem too?
Edit: Well, having checked the site from my home computer, I can safely say that the problem was not the site, it was that my comp was all fubar'd. Never mind, I suppose. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#251Update on the topic of HTML links:
Links seem to work fine in scroll and ordinary comments, as long as you don't type any quotes around them - otherwise they will end up broken as before. Guess it is an improvement.
However, in the body of a submission it is impossible to create a HTML link; worse, whatever was inside is 'parsed out', deleting the link itself. (Found out the hard way, after nearly loosing a link which I would have a hard time finding again. :( )
Bottom line: be careful while editing anything with html links... you might not get the results you want, or even loose the links. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#252When fixing links, disallow BH from posting links! -

Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#254Problem with submissions. The Underline tags < u> & < /u> aren't working. At all. When I preview or submit work on my sub, it gets rid of them. And as you can tell from my subs, I like to bold and underline major headers. Kinda helps with organization, 'cept now I can't do it.
Perhaps a problem with the html purifier? -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#255Not necessarily a problem, it may be just set up ignore this particular tag as well. That shall be fixed. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#256A user that is not active here (yet?) I've exchanged a few PMs with, reported some problems with logging in. It seems they are gone now, I'm storing it here for reference anyway. (Plus someone should try those out.)
A couple days ago I clicked on a link from an e-mail notification, and the login form would not let me in. After a couple of failed submits, I tried the top right login, and that failed. I clicked Home and used the form on the home page, and that let me in.
Today, I click on your reply link in the e-mail notification and I log in first time, no problem. :)
Other times I have had mixed results logging in using the top-of-the-page form. In addition, after login, my info doesn't display on new pages - it shows the log in form again, so I'm not sure if I'm still logged in though.
I swipe all cookies each day - perhaps that's the reason for my hit-and-miss logins?
-
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#257Cookies might be an issue, but this looks a little deeper than that. Have had issues with it before.
I still have a disclaimer note that first time logins need to be done through the forum. The main citadel only has barebones code to do the most basic of logging in.
That script will be rewritten in 3.0, althought I won't guarantee that the login issues like that won't continue.
Not sure why the login boxes stay on the relogin though, the error is generally with first time logins. Will look at it closer when I get to it.
Thanks! -

#258The quest list is not working:

I know of at least one quest submission. -

Error-BUMP!
Adding a link directly into a post will display it; unfortunately it won't be a link to click on... good ole select, copy&paste will help then. -

Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#262PHP 5, eh?
Ohh, we are sure to have some pretties for this thread now. ;) :p
One: the Random Submission is coming out a bit empty.
---
Something most probably unrelated:
I recently started noticing the 'empty pages syndrome'. You know, the one where you get nothing at all after visiting a link, but refreshing makes it alright again. I'm pretty sure we had this at some point already. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#263Two: "Random" under the main site chatbox input field now only reads: () -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#264Severe one:
I can't post a submission. All I get is:
"For some insane reason your query did not update. Better write to Strolen!"
Writing am I. Also have noticed that the Special Sub Listing in user profiles is empty; but the above is way more important. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#265Special subs is empty for me as well... And it should not be!
:)
-
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#266It's getting better.
Can post, special subs back. For the laughs I may add that the flashchat is acting funny, but that is really low prio.
All subs show now as 'Deleted', they are still in their respective states though. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#267Something I just now thought about, and is a fairly minor issue.
If you make a sub and have it in one of the variations of "in work" status, and only have a small amount of text when you first create it, and then later edit it to add more, it doesn't update the XP you get for it. I know that there's a certain word length that gives you a small bonus, but apparently it only counts if you meet that length when you first post it.
I don't care so much in a personal way, it just bothers me in general. Of course, I don't know if the latest update (chaos that it was) fixed it or not, so it may not even be an issue anymore. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#268That, I would say, is correct and has not changed...but will. Makes sense that it should be refigured once it is officially turned in. Probably doesn't need any XP if it is in work... -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#269Go read PADD by MoonHunter
There is a vote bug that has caused some heartache and misunderstanding. It seems that the vote count increments correctly, but when a vote is deleted the vote count isn't decremented as it should be.
My guess is that you still keep the vote, for reference. If so please make sure to also check whether a vote is deleted or not when you do the vote count.
Please fix this Strolen. It has caused some heartache for your Strolenites. -

#271http://www.strolen.com/roleplay_mech.php#levels
Is this table up to date? -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#272Probably not. Why are you asking? :D -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#273I hope the answer is different when Strolen replies. :) -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#274That table is what the nightly script builds levels off of. It is right out of the database. Is it messed up? I can't even remember the last time I changed it. -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#276Well, it isn't correct for me. :)
Look at my level and the chart, then ask yourself the question I asked you.
I have also seen the number of votes seems to be the same as in the table, only 1 less. Probably you used a zero based variable and added one one place, not the other. ;) -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#277I see your point. This is the level update code, see if I am missing something:
//$stats will have the array of author information: ID, XP, sub count
//$level holds the level information shown on the citadel explained page
foreach ($stats_sql as $stats)
{
$go = TRUE;
$i = 1; //lowest level that matters
$j = 2; //level previous is compared to
$h = 0; //for announce array
while($go == TRUE) //maybe not the prettiest but all I could think of
{
// if the counts are below the next level then set the votes as the current level
if ($stats->submission_count < $level[$j]['level_post_min'] ||
$stats->XP < $level[$j]['level_xp_min'])
{
//function to update author's stats in database
setvotes($stats->author_id, $level[$i]['level_id'], $level[$i]['level_vote'], $level[$i]['level_hoh']);
//if they made a new level then save the id
if (($stats->level < $level[$i]['level_id']) && ($j > 2))
{
$next_level[$h]['author_id'] = $stats->author_id; //get an array of everybody that made the next level
}
$go = FALSE; // if it gets in here we don't have to go any farther with this author
}
//if not then try the next level
$i++;
$j++;
}
}

Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#278Polish collection XXVII:
- in the comments listing of a user, the comments to the same submission could be together
strolen: might not be perfect, but they are now together
- once a comment is updated, it vanishes from the user's list of comments
- in a scroll submission, add a link to its comments (or only in a scroll+codex?) - some of those darn long ones take ages to scroll, when you want to see the comments - see the One Hundred Plus Islands for a scary example :)
- sorting by categories still broken in places... see for example Articles - Game Mastering =
http://www.strolen.com/content.php?page=114&cat=&cat2=204
The Next link leads to:
http://www.strolen.com/content.php?page=114&top_cat=186&sort=&dir=&start=50
- in Scholar's Canvas, the Quest description is misformatted
- if you link an In Work sub to another (via Suggested Submissions), that other actually displays the link - even if the original is still In Work
- if there is white space between html tags, it gets removed. While it is no problem with some, it occasionally makes trouble - for instance if there's a header right behind a HR, the line-ends between them will be lost.
- if a sub has an apostrophe in it's name, a title-based link won't lead to the submission (obviously because of the apostrophe). So if someone links by [Submission Title] it won't work.
http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=Finghaart%27s+Sausages
Update: same for a '-' in the name.
- Related: following such a link, or searching for any sub that doesn't exist leads to the appropriate page. One of the links from there makes it possible to create a new submission of such a name... but the link itself leads only to a sub with the first word of the searched term.
- (this is actually a massive change, but it would be nice to have it one day) - forms should lead to the correct submission's link, not http://www.strolen.com/content.php
- on the Quest pages should be the number of Quest submissions visible
- after some specific editing operations on subs, end-of-lines become \r\n's instead
- in first page of Citadel Explained, all links on the top point to the second page; the other pages are okay. (And put at least something on the Play page.)
- in linking images, the 'align' option doesn't seem to work correctly. I noticed in val's Neyathis sub, where an image is aligned as 'middle', that it stays on the left. (I tried center as well. However, 'right' works fine.) -
Re: V2.2+ Official Bug/Polish Thread
#279SWEET list! Will try and attack it this weekend! -
