Ouch. Have deleted many of them before my power has left me, but there's still about a hundred in subs from ID 200 to 300. Kudos to those that remove them.

The sheer mass and consecutiveness has two possible explanations:
a) we have been caught with pants down by a spambot that happens to fit our submission guidelines (and I can imagine those are sufficiently smart things), or
b) it's personal

Anyway, I want to keep the Citadel open for Anonymous posts - but I HATE deleting tons of spam posts. I don't mind the occasional wayward comment, but this... never again, please.

So what we need is a mechanism to hinder a mass production of posts by the BH user.
- there is some time limit where users cannot post two or more comments in, how about increasing it slightly for BH?
- consider making their comments smaller
- also, checking for BH posts with a given IP - if there's more than a certain amount of posts in a timeframe, increase the allowed time even more, or heck, even block the IP for some time if it goes beyond a reasonable amount.
- still against disabling BH posts, I have to consider a BH lock, a temporary measure to kill anonymous posting while the attack goes on.
- with the lock above enabled, BH comments could go in some special store (read: will have a flag set), where we could review them before admitting or throwing out
- should we have the thing above, some mass-'delete' measure for recent BH comments may be an option. (So you'd click the 'Move all BH comments for the last 24 hours into trash' link, then review them, recover if anything is valid, discard the rest.)
- consider to require a second confirmation for a BH post; optionally with a graphical code
- didn't try, but can we block a given IP to prevent it from posting? If it's slow, forget it, just wanted to know.

The options offer various degrees of paranoia, 'security', and programming diffilcuty. And I have enough for now.

Hello I have a few questions regarding a friend who is so in love with a man and he ignores her. What can she do?
This is what I found out:
Got more info regarding Katie, apparently during the marriage of the guy and his former wife, the wife would put buttons and small pieces of paper in his pants pockets. Told him it was for luck. After their divorce, which he asked for, about 10 months later, he met Katie. At first it started out normal, he said "I love you", even though he was hesitant at first to be with another Virgo (his wife as a Virgo). One day he and Katie were walking on the street and bumped into a friend of the ex-wife's mother, she said hello, but the woman later asked him who Katie was and he told her not to get involved. Shortly thereafter, he broke up with Katie, but later they got back together. This time there was no I love you from him, just I like you, I adore you, but no I love you. Then they broke up again and ever since my friend can't get over him and cries herself to sleep, doesn't meet other men and calls him and writes letters and he doesn't return phone calls or hangs up on her.
Could it be a spell on Katie or on both?
Could the buttons and paper in pants pockets have been a spell?
Is there anything Katie can do to lift the spell?
Can she do something to get her guy back?
