Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#204By Chthulu's Tentacles!
Look at the mess that has been made of this thread. It has losts its soul and its flavor of madness and things humorous or best left unsaid. It is now a fount of overflowing inanity, cheap gemcrackery, and a swirling miasma of three word posts!
For shame! Chthulu is likely rolling in his watery grave, R'leyh shudders with his anger.
Conisder this thy warning, for if the bantering of the parakeets continues, the great old one while burst forth and destroy the entire world. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#205now calm down Scraz,
I think Chthulu will give us another chance...
After all, we're only human :D -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#206Actually I'm going to have to agree with Scras, this thread is more like Prime Rib every day. Once, I was the only machine gun poster... I don't feel so special now.
We need to bring the Call back, not that I have ANY IDEA HOW TO GET IT BACK.
Except ranting, that tends to work. i just need to work a good rant up. I'll get back to you with that later. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#207This thread differed from Prime Rib in essential ways: It had humour, it had wit, it had style even if it was nonsensical natter-style.
Not so anymore!
Cease your prattling, children and go make a sub instead. At the very least: Save CoC for the worthy prattle and leave the rest in Prime Rib. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#208Hi guys! just got back from my work in japan, and I do think scras is right.
And when I read the ancient post... I really think it was Rei who started changing this thread...
I think... (X_x)" -

Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#211In the froth of that which is frothless the smallest large katsup has failed to catch up. It is up to the dead and hopeless to bring life and dreams to the barren land of thriving natural beauty. Those that cannot see unfailingly lead the way across the lands that cannot be crossed and over the mountains that cannot be climbed to live in the land that cannot support life in hope to end a new start. It is only in this way that nothing can be accomplished and the dead will regain life and the living will attain death but only if they aren't dead or living already. It is time to lay down and walk to the call of silence. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#212huh? :what: -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#213What that means is that the last few postings in this thread have been removed since they contributed nothing to the thread in question. The thread was initially started for collecting crazy, witty, pithy, or otherwise glib ideas. It was not intended to be another thread for ongoing conversations that have no reason, rhyme or function.
That sort of posting belongs in http://www.strolen.com/guild/index.php/topic,3296.0.html
Lets endeavor to keep it there guys. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#214The master of space and time is lost in void. The time of feet is upon us. Raise your hand in awe of their insignificance.

Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#215everything thing was silence. thulhu sits on his thrown. The robotic overlord then approaches.
"Yes Captain , the dreadful curse my have consumed your perfect world, but have no fear for I have great news."
thulhu then looks up waiting to hear the news.
"I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico. Man, you show have been there."

Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#216#$%^&* #$%^&* #$%^&*ng #$%^&*!!!!! If I hear that joke one more time I swear to Bog Allmighty that I will gouge both of the offender's eyes out with a rusty spoon, then I will blow up both of his feet with a claymore. After that I'll cut off the hands with a dull steak knife, driving chopsticks into all the veins to stop bleeding. I will then draw runes to summon Arrkrash to eat you're malformed intestines. Then, if I feel you deserve it I shall bury you in the deepest darkest pit I can find.
Does anyone want to try me? -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#217That is a lot of chopsticks. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#218Strolen, I cant find that thread. It was Torn Rope, something Gorbinsaw and who was the third? A bunny of some sort? Inquiring minds wanna know. :P -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#219The Call of Captain-thulhu has been subverted!
Let the heretics who have made a mockery of the ancient ways be purged! -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#220In a flash of light the altar vanished, the hundreds of chanting acolytres collapsed down to the earth. Their breasts lay still and they eyes were empty, but in their own way they had succedded. Bloated and terrible, Chthulu, greatest of the Old Ones waved his tentacles in semblance to a smile, he found the sacrifice suitable...and tasty -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#221A rant to appease Great Cthulhu-
I hate people. I do. The list of exactly why I hate people grows longer by the day, since I am constantly exposed to the stupidites of human nature. I work in a hotel, and have to deal with whiny, arrogant idiots who think that just because we work in the service industry means that they can abuse us to their hearts' content.
This time, though, it was karaoke night at the bar attached to the hotel. Now, I have heard karaoke in multiple venues, and despite the stereotype, not all of it is bad. I've even found some of it quite enjoyable. But there's four things that should never be present in the same group of people at the same time, and that's karaoke, rednecks, alcohol, and bad country. Welcome to Karaoke Night in the wilds of East Tennessee.
There was a man singing (and I use the term loosely) God-knows-what. He sounded like he was slaughtering cats. For five minutes. But the horror did not end there. No, they played "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" no less than five times, each at differing levels of butchered. That was never a good song. Nor was "Who Let the Dogs Out." "I Like Big Butts" gets a pass because I have some fond memories connected with that song, but that doesn't mean I want to hear it absolutely mauled by a forty-something lawyer who's so drunk that he wouldn't be able to stay on key if he was stapled to it.
This wretched noisefest was supposed to go on until 11:30 at night. In a supposedly upscale hotel, mind you. But no, I had to listen to fifteen absolutely plastered idiots bellowing "Rocky Top" at the top of their lungs. I loathe "Rocky Top" with a passion seldom matched. But I can't decide if that was the worst, or if the worst was when they decided to give "Jailhouse Rock" the same treatment. I like Elvis. But anyway, this mess went on until 1 AM, and then only stopped when the manager went and physically removed the microphone from them. Never mind that some of the people who come to this hotel because it is a "classy" place were trying to sleep, or that most of the blame falls on me because I answer the telephone.
I hate people. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#222Given the amount of human pain and suffering that is created by that horror of Karaoke I am inclined to think that Chthulu would approve of it's use. I am also convinced the Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos spawned for the lyrics and sheet music for Rocky Top to be blasted across this state from corner to corner, from bowling alley to shoe store.
And Lord help us if the Vols win, then it gets played 2X more frequently after the game. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#223I don't think anyone's said this to you yet Scras but nice new profile picture. Although I had kinda' grown attached to the little hyper dude. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#224I am back from the deep woods. I did not end up as the diet of any wolf or bear, but I did end up somewhat drunk. Not so drunk as previously mentioned redneck pop stars however. But there were norwegian rednecks present and from the sounds of it, they match their Tennessean brethren very well. It was a weekend full of beer, bonfires, and lewd songs sung by rednecks.
The horror!
The horror!
The horror!
(Only applies to the redneck part. Other people were present and they were excellent company indeed!) -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#225We make things with light, lite-brite makes them glow so bright.
A steamboat, a chicken, a tropical fish!
A lemonade stand or whatever I wish! -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#226I had a Lite-brite. I want one again.
Lite-brite is like having a little spirit of joy inside a box, but better.
MUCH BETTER.
Remember kids, regardless of what your english teacher says: FRAGMENTS ARE FUN! -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#227I used to have a lite-brite in my toddler days. I never really used it though, go figure. No seriousy, GO FIGURE NOW! NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW! -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#228Ah, the toys of yesteryear, before quaint devices like the PSP, or the iPod. I too once had a litebright and how I loathed to share it with my sister. Also from that long ago treasury of toys...
The Etch-a-Sketch
Slinky
Lincoln Logs
Matchbox Cars
Legos, when they used to be buckets of random parts
-
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#229where did the years go?
....
No really... -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#230You can still get buckets of random Legos. I'm tempted to do it myself. And I'm pretty sure they cost less than the model kits. Although, I have to ask, IS IT TOO FREAKING MUCH TO ASK FOR REGULAR KITS THAT ARE NON-STAR WARS?! -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#231Yeah, now if you find legos its either Star Wars or those freaky looking Bionicle things. And BTW bionicle sounds like some sort of computer radiation mutation illness than something I would want to play with.
Now saturday evening, I took the missus out to a quick dinner at Ye Olde Long John Silvers/A&W fast food joint. The food was fine but on Sept 30, they were already playing Christmas Music. This being said I felt it was necessary to submit the following bill to Congress.
Celebrations of Christmas as defined by decorations, sales, ornamentation, holiday music and the like shall be restricted until the day after Thanksgiving.
Likewise the holiday of Thanksgiving shall be limited unto the month of November, and Halloween unto the month of October. -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#232Hear hear! And the celebration of Valentine's Day shall be restricted to the end of January and February! Or just eliminated entirely, that's also a good plan... -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#233I moved this weekend. My new home is next to an old viking burial mound, which means it is a grove of sorts, a forest that cannot be cut down because it is protected by law. Yay! I live in the middle of a forest in the middle of a town. Hehe!
The fact that I moved also means I am deprived of internet for quite a while yet.
No worries, I shalt return! -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#234AG: Beware of Draugr!
As for the rest of you Shnokxils, why not just create your own holiday?
Like St. Strolentines day.
Or just celebrate Winter-een-mas (Roack still needs to make his scepter out of an old derelict PS2 controller.) -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#235No! No! Not the PS2 controller! Spare the poor thing! -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#236sorry T-Bone, but it must be done.
Better to waste the PS2 controller then an XBOX controller.
HERE HERE FOR HALO 2!!!!!!!!!! -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#237It is really a shame that the only good game for X-box is HALO and HALO2...A shame really that the best game is a shooter, seeing as they are not the most thought provoking games, unless reloading or hosing foes with chainguns is considered thought provoking. It matters not for all must bow to the ultimate and eldest of controllers, the single button Atari 2600 joystick of Doom! -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#238Halo and Halo 2 are fun and all...
But I think Doom 3 is freak'n sickest :puke:, coolest 8), scariest , ever made :reddevil: I suggest it only to thee HARDCORE.
but then again  I only have it on P.C. and the graphics are off because it requires every last bit of juice in my computer to make it run, other then the off shading, it's fun. Bet it's cooler on XBOX though.
In the middle of the night is the best time to play it . -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#239Ahahaha~
I just noticed that T-bone have been scribbling random things from his dark underworl from under his bed 2 days ago...
And now his spreading mercy through out the windows of his house =_="
Im right arent I? -
Re: Re: The Call of Captain-thulhu part 3
#240The Dark Prophet under the bed is a slanderer, a rumormonger and a liar without equal. His litanies are false and his promises are black, and when you step safely upon the bare floor to goest to the restroom you will feel his slithery tentacle caress your tender foot. He will lick his thick and rubbery lips with his prehensile tongue. Then the comfort of the bad seems a distant protection, a fortress inpenetrable abandoned that cannot be returned to.
In the morning, the parents and the police will come, pictures will be taken, yet not even the shiny forensics people will notve the shallow scratches in the floor, furrows dug by desperate fingernails as hands try to reach for safety as the body was pulled under the bed...
