Woohoo, I just finished scene 1 today, one page and a little over.

Not quite a week yet but I feel like I had just made a major breakthrough so want to share it. Basically I was worried about this story being severely under word count (although we ended up not imposing any kind of word count I'm running this as a two-part story and it's weird if the first part is only 1000 words, feels like I deliberately chopped it up for no reasons) but now apparently the issue resolves itself through writing. From 2 scenes, the first part has now expanded into 5 scenes. But don't worry, these are snappy straightforward scenes, not my specialty of complex-with-loads-of-undertones scenes. So I should still be on track. I might do a 1.5 draft rather than releasing it straight into public but should mainly be for expansions of scene 2 that I can't envisage now but joted down as being needed.

Ok gonna take a few days off from any major work, Ive been neglecting real life and need to get some things done around the house, will still be on line so Ill be available. I plan on starting the sprint to the finish line on Saturday in order of priority will work on following

    1) Moon wants new poem to open book-this will take some effort as it needs to be GREAT

    2) final tweaks on Empress, I like where moon wants to take this and should be easy

    3) any final tweaks to Lady, hopefully not too much as Im pretty happy with where we are on this

also a new update on the art: more finished version of first sketch is done ,realy looks phenominal, I lucked out picking this artist, my primitive computer skills are preventing me from posting link but will try again later today

Well Grey 3.0 is up. I'm not sure even I know what to make of it. It's a bender. Not sure even I understand it, but me and my muse like it. We will prob be the only ones.

Okay, I got back into Empress even though I said I will leave it to cool and now I'm feeling a bit drained (probably has to do with that layout doc I was working on too) so I've decided to take the rest of the week off.

I have about 1/2 an idea for setting a story in the 1930s based on Nazi occult myth(which I am pretty up on), if anybody else was thinking along these lines speak up before I get something in writing down in next week or so.

Done with the Empress for now. Just got back to Thread, I'm going ahead to part 2 and will go back to edit part 1 when I finish part 2 which will then complete the entire story. I got my one page done today.

Chess 2.0 is done, I don't think there is too much more to do w/ it IMNSHO(on Wizards drive)

Maxxx, I need to re-read Chess but I'm confused. It really just ends like that?!
  14. Re: Weekly progress log

    #134
I've read it way more times than I care to admit and I think it's done, but then I know exactly what I meant by everything, if you could be specific in what you are unclear on I will address those issues
  15. Re: Weekly progress log

    #135
I was just kinda confused cos I had expected more length to Chess than the current state through eyeball gazing. But I need to read through once again in details to give any specific comments.

May not be able to complete Thread part 2 by end of this week but shouldn't be that far off. Next week will be my break away from Thread. And then back to revising Thread part 1.
  17. Re: Weekly progress log

    #137
Well, you never know, I actually did finish Thread. So it will be in cooler for next week and I'm not sure what I will be doing since it's gonna be first week back to FT hours.

I even updated Empress today, turning third person omnipotent to limited like I said I would. It is in fact miniscule work, I was only required to make change in exactly one place but I fixed up wording issues and tightened some of the prose.

This week is my official cool-down from epub (supposedly) but I only got to a real cool-down today when I started on my retro quest sub on the Shard of Storm. Felt like I owed it greatly to Maxxx and Muro for their great enthusiasm in my Chinese lifeforms that eventually sparked off this idea in my mind.

    wow, Im seriously burnt out!

Clearly rushing towards the finishing line on issue 1, I think we are like 97% there. Thread part 1 is on 2nd draft and still going thru revisions based on feedback but no more on it this week. I added in a meta fic just before Thread part 1 too before my previous post and this. Going to start on the extended scene skeleton for 2nd Chances for the Wizards issues, my other contribution towards issue 2 collabed with Maxxx today.
  22. Re: Weekly progress log

Done with extended skeleton on 2nd Chances and moving onto potential 3rd story for Wizards, this might be another horse story though cos I'm doing the character grid and Snowflake planning again. I could arguably move onto Steeds given that I've got 4 stories coming up but well, Wizards is issue 2. Anyhow, I'm running long code at work today, that's why I'm doing the 3rd story for Wizards now, don't know what it will be called, naming it after the protagonist at the moment. And not doing bad, got the character grid today and a vague plot sussed out. But I still got to do one paragraph outline of story and 1 page story synopsis in protagonist voice.

New story "Blind Spot" up on wiz issue. Short and snappy!
  24. Re: Weekly progress log

    #144
Thread part 1 through another edit, I think I really should call it v3 cos I think it's stronger now thanks from comments from Axle and Longspeak but since I did edits in tidbits, we will stick with it being called v2 for now.

Ok Im having second thoughts about (grey)'s title

    Between White and Black
    or
    A Shade of a life
    or simply
    Grey

    ???
  26. Re: Weekly progress log

    #146
Like either of the new ones better than " between white and black"
  27. Re: Weekly progress log

    #147
I don't like A Shade of a Life, Grey is more straightforward way of saying b/w White and Black so slightly more preferred by me.
  28. Re: Weekly progress log

    Grey it is

Not sure what plan I have for this week but I will be losing access to PC at night for whole of this week due to repainting at house. In all likelihood, I will continue with plotting out my 3rd story for Wizards. Got up to scene 3 last week and then whisked off to Thread part 1. Anyway, I'm aiming to get all scenes plotted out by end of this week, nothing else to do anyway given lack of access to PC at home.

  33. Re: Weekly progress log

    #153
3 bucks or $2.99 to be exact.
  34. Re: Weekly progress log

    #154
Ok, put me down for a dozen.
  35. Re: Weekly progress log

    #155
Wow, and that will mean that we already recovered almost half of the financial outlay on this enterprise and it's a volume pre-sales! Wondering who would be lucky dozen (or dozen minus one assuming you want to keep a copy for yourself) who gets our first epub as a gift from you  :D

    We have  submitted.

There is now a 12-72 hour review period in which Amazon checks over the book and makes sure it is not an act of terrorism or plagiarism.
