::Morgandy stood waiting with the others for some sign of dismissal or anything at all. Svyel still lay unconcious, and looked pale. Soon Morgandy heard fiery discussion coming from the room in which the king had just entered. It seemed that he was arguing with someone whose voice Morgandy did not recognize. Morgandy became tired and slumped down against a tall marble pillar. Feanin sat close by, tracing intricate designs in the floor with his finger. Luke stood and seemed to be deep in thought. Svyel, of course, still lay motionless, with his white fox companion leaping about him. Morgandy was just about to give up hope when the door burst open again and out came the king and what looked to be one of his advisors. The king walked over to the travelers, and immediately all of them stood up and paid respect. Morgandy had her eyes downcast with hopelessness. The king spoke, "I have spoken with my advisor. We have decided to let you stay, till you wish to leave. I will provide you all with provisions, care, shelter, medicine, rest, and whatever else you may need. We will, of course, tend to Svyel right away. It seems I was wrong in accusing you, my lady," he directed toward Morgandy. Now she looked up at him; hopeful. He continued, "and for that I am sorry. The maid, Trinidy, will see you to your rooms. I will call my medical staff to tend to Svyel." Morgandy beamed at him and said, "We thank you kindly, Your Majesty," and curtsied. The king smiled, but Morgandy couldn't help but sense in him that he was being forced into this. The advisor walked out into the entrace hall. Soon, he came back with Trinidy, the maid that had welcomed Morgandy back, and a group of about a dozen people all dressed in robes of light blue and laden with various medical tools and medicines. The medical staff carried Svyel away on a stretcher. Morgandy asked the king, "How long do you think it will take him to heal?" The king thought and said, "It depends on what damage has been done. If it is very severe it could take many days. If it is simple, not many days. Then again, the druid may never wake." Morgandy looked away, tears now clouding her vision. She turned away and followed Trinidy with the others to their rooms.

    Meanwhile...

Irinya snuggled into her soft bed. She had been given her own room, next to Rode's. They had both enjoyed a night full of feasting, singing, and merrymaking with the kind and wise wizard, Fern. His name was not actually "Medical Merlin" or "Merlin" at all; he had just thought it sounded like a good title. It turned out that he was also a very witty fellow, often telling jokes and humorous stories and songs. Rode and Irinya had told stories, history, songs, and poems from Hillanya, and Fern had told the same of Meil and of his former home, Plythel. That was where Fern had been brought up in the ways of medical magic, learning everything from healing plants and herbs to survival skills. Fern's magic was so powerful that by the end of the night Rode's wound seemed nearly completely healed. Rode and Irinya soon grew weary and retired to bed. Fern, however, accustomed to staying awake late into the night and working, did so; he was hoping to master the art of burn repellent from fire by creating a fire-defying potion.::

The staff that were entrusted with tending to Svyel could find nothing wrong it was as if he decided to drop of his own accord and no physical effects or causes. They called a healer to come and examine him and when she gazed at his aura, she discovered that he practically had none. His magic had been sapped from his body. There was no mana left in him.

Otiluke scoured the city for bizarre activity in nature but all that happened were dogs barking at him. Eventually he found a section of vines growing just outside the city. The odd part was that they were in full bloom at night. Very uncommon for this particular type of plant. He examined them closely and realised that they were entering fruition at an alarming rate. They had only been pollenated thaty night and would have been ripe by morning. He entered the forsest to investigate.

OOC: Hello! I am The Forest Fae aka Morgandy. Sure you can join! I probably should tell you though that the number of people in this thread does matter to me, because I am writing a book on this. (Yea, you'll be in a book!) So, I can't have to many characters. One is fine for now though. Your character sounds interesting, but what is an empath? And how do you plan to meet us? Thanks! :D

OOC: Let's see....Hmmm...Ok. So, (responding to Svyel's post, Sorry Svyel, I didn't notice it before) the healer already at the palace found that Svyel's magic had been sapped. The king panics and sends for a more powerful, more experienced empath and healer (that's you, Tyrion) while going into a fury and casting the other Healer out. Now, back to the present (I will provide this introduction):

::It had been two days since Morgandy and her company had entered the castle again. They had all been given treatment for their wounds and aches. Morgandy's nurse discovered that she had a fractured ankle, many bruises, a twisted arm, and she had nearly had a concussion from her fall. Now, Morgandy was still healing and lying in bed, thinking. Feanin came to see her frequently, when she was awake, for he had naught but a couple scrapes and bruises. She received information about the others only by begging the nurses. She found out that Svyel had been drained of his magic, the king had cast out that healer in an ignorant fury, and had recently sent for another stronger, more experienced Healer and Empath to come to Svyel's aide. Morgandy feared for Svyel, as she had told Feanin, for they needed him on this journey. He had skills none of them could master, and knowledge to get them out of sticky situations. She told Feanin that she wished she had never been cursed, for this all would have never happened. Of course, the crystal would have eventually had been found and destroyed, but this curse of hers made all of that harder.::

The young empath sits queitly in the hall leading to the kings ante-chamber,patience Bronze, he is the king, the empath thinks to himself the hall empty except for the two guardsmen who stare ahead as if the empath were no more then a piece of furniture. The empath closes his soft blue eyes and opens his minds eye, picking up the emotions of the guardsmen aaaggghhh your feelings betray you,Bronze shaking his head, they hate me, they don't even no me.The young empath sighs knowing what the guardsmen thought of him "Soul witch" most of the world believes that the empath healers were witchs that peared into thier souls not to be trusted and sometimes to be burned.Bronze smiled at the guardsmen watching them shift uncomfortably. The young empath's thoughts drift back to the meeting he had with his clan elder. Her cold blue eyes scolding his every move as if any mistake made would send her into a fury." do you know why I sent for you, student" Bronze calmly answer that he didn't "you are the first man to join the blood and silk clan in hundreds of years, you are very strong empath and proficent healer your mothers blood runs strong in you" the memorys of Bronzes mother races across his mind bringing a longing over him.The old women scowling over the young empath "the king is in need of us,do not fail him,do not fail the guild this is your chance boy go!!
Bronze awakens from his thoughts by the opening of the kings door the young empath quietly murmurs " I will not fail grandmother"

OOC: That's a perfect intro Tyrion, its not too long. It gives us knowledge to see about what your character is like. Its snowing here too, and its very icy, (we've been having a long winter storm!) but luckily our power hasn't gone out (yet). Sorry, but my inspiration is a little blocked for the moment so I'm not going to post more of the story yet. I'll try to tomorrow. I've had a long day, see. I'm really tired. Hope to see you all back soon! :)

    OOC: Ok I'm back. :)

::Morgandy had received news by the morning of the third day since they had entered the palace that the empath had come. Feanin told her this because he had much time on his hands, and had sighted the empath in the entrance hall the night before. Morgandy, who still was ignorant in much of the ways of the world, wondered what an empath really was. She wondered what exactly they did. Morgandy hoped though, that the empath could heal poor Svyel. When Morgandy asked Feanin how Svyel was holding up, he said Svyel had been kept in closed quarters, where only the medics were allowed. Morgandy asked one of the nurses this, and she answered that they were not to give away that information. This upset Morgandy, but she could do nothing about it. Meanwhile, her head was nearly healed and she could get out of bed now, but had to walk with crutches for her leg was still weak. Her arm hurt only when something touched it, and her bruises were beginning to fade. It was remarkable how fast she could heal with the amazing healing techniques of the palace. On the evening of the fourth day, Morgandy was stronger and was allowed to walk about the palace with her crutches, but with a nurse at her side. She was permitted to visit much of the palace, except of course the closed off areas. She visited Luke, who was still in bed, and they talked for a time. She soon caught up with Feanin, who was just going out for a walk through the town. Morgandy could not leave the palace though, and Feanin obliged kindly and accompanied her. Feanin also insisted that he would look after Morgandy, so the nurse reluctantly left, muttering about losing her job. Feanin helped Morgandy along the halls as they made their way out towards the back palace courtyard. It was empty when they got there, and the early sunset painted the atmosphere a pinkish-orange. The stone walls surrounding the courtyard were nearly covered in ivy and morning glory, there was a fountain in the middle with an elven child pouring water from a bucket, rose bushes and lilys stood in large urns and pots, a few benches were placed at random around the courtyard, and round window holes were cut into the stone walls to view out onto the grassy plains to the north, and the Rheythel Mountains. Morgandy nearly fell at the stunningly beautiful site of the courtyard and Feanin had to keep her up. "Thank you," she said. Feanin helped her over to a bench where they both sat down. Morgandy looked around at the courtyard and then into Feanin's eyes. "Feanin," she said. "We can't keep shying away from this anymore. It's no secret. I love-"
But Morgandy was cut off suddenly when Feanin pulled her into a warm embrace and kissed her with a passionate kiss; their first kiss. They stayed like this for a while, and the awkwardness began to ware off. Morgandy and Feanin could not keep it from each other any longer that they loved each other deeply.::

OOC: Ok a little run down, sorry about not posting but my main sport started wrestling i had almost no time to do homework let alone use the computer. Well things have changed a little i was doing pretty good until we went to one duel out in some country school with some of the best schools in the state... Well my first match my opponent did a leg take down and broke my patella (Knee Cap). So I'm out for the season, this means more time for computer. :? I'll try to keep up just finished catching up hope Christmas and the New Year was good for ya all.

Luke stood by the window in the his room, he was uncomfortable the pluch bed in the middle of the room was the first time in his life sleeping on feathers. It felt good but it was too unfamiliar to sleep on. Just being close to so many blue bloods made him jumpy. Worse any commnoner here was too afraid to even talk to him. Morgandy came by earlier but he didn't feel secure around her. Hell he'd seen more magic in the past few days than in his entire life time, except maybe Yuna.

Luke shifted his gaze and noticed something on the distance smoke columes wafted up from the forest on the horizon. Stirred from his day dreaming Luke left the the room, with syvel out of condition the others would not be moving on until he got better. Luke glided down the halls it was time to get moving again time was ticking down. Yuna had to be slown down so the gem could be destroyed. He suspected the others would protest him moving ahead so he didnt bother trying to talk to anyone. Luke went to the stables selected the best horse. He used sensed the guards at the gate each of them projected an aura of alertness Luke waved his hand and both of them slumped down asleep they would wake minutes latter but by then he would be long gone.

The smoke he spyed earlier had to bo caused by someone the last few days had been perfectly clear no lighting at all the patrols had not been at that far he had tracked them from the tower his first night incase there was a need for escape. Luke rode by into the woods anyone who saw him on the way out forgot only minutes later he had been there at all...

Bronze looked at the clear blue sky from the balcony feeling the sun wash its warmth on his face, the young empath thoughts reflect back on his meeting with the king."WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WILL THINK ON IT!!" the kings commanding voice shaking with outrage through the hall, quietly one of the kings counsolers whispered into the kings ear.The king with restrain control "I have sent the other healers away because it is known the Blood and Silk clan are the lands greatest healers a guild of women healers I remind you and yet here they send a man who wears no sword telling me he needs to think how to help my druid, bah I should never believe in you soul witchs" trembling with his uncontrol anger.Bronze couldn't decide what was worse the king screaming in fury or the waves of raw emotion battering at Bronze mind.Steadying himself the young empath bowed and softly replied "The crown you wear brings you great sorrow and very little joy and yet even when you need to make a hard choice you still weigh the consquences I think I can help your druid but I need time to prepare".The king watching the young empath listening to his soft honest voice with no hint of sarcasm simply nodded "So be it but hurry I don't know if he will last much longer".The words of the young empaths clan leader echo in his mind"don't fail the king, don't fail the clan" looking down on a couple in a loving embrace and being washed in in thier warmth and love the young empath blushes for intruding on thier time nodding to himself "I will try the "Joining " may the elders see us through it".Turning he begins to go find the druid.

OOC: Sorry to hear that you broke your knee cap Luke. :( Ouch! Hope you get better. Nice to have you back though and hope you had a good holiday too! :)

::Suddenly Morgandy sensed something was wrong. She pulled away from Feanin, and at first he looked confused. Morgandy realized what had happened, but she couldn't even explain it to herself of why she knew. "Luke has left," she said quietly, looking worriedly into Feanin's eyes. Suddenly they both sensed someone looking down on them, and glanced up at a young man standing on a balcony. Neither of them had ever seen him before, but he seemed ashamed and blushed before he walked away. Returning to the present situation Morgandy said, "What shall we do?" Feanin seemed to be in thought for a moment, and then said, "Morgandy, someone has to stay here and wait for Svyel to be healed. We do need him. But, someone must also go after Luke. He cannot go off alone; Yuna will find him!-" Feanin stopped as Morgandy's eyes began to well up. She wiped them away and Feanin continued, "You still are too weak to go off even in the company of others. You must wait here and heal, and wait for Svyel to heal. I must go after Luke, Morgandy. I am well and there is no one else who will care enough to do it; I know this; I've seen the way people look at him because he is not of their kind. Even we are not of their elven kind but our ancient cousins were the elves and to today we still share that bond. The humans however are less fortunate." Feanin realized he was trailing off. He looked through the window in the stone wall and saw that the sun had just set behind the purple Rheythel Mountains. Twilight was spreading its shimmery dim glow over the land. "Will you not come for me? When will I see you again?" Morgandy said through soft sobs. Feanin gently wiped away her tears and sweetly kissed her cheek. "We will meet again. If I can find Luke soon enough before you are gone from here, I will come back for you. But if you are well, you must go immediately, even if I am not here. If I find you are gone by then, I will find you. I will travel as far as the Endless Sea and the Forgotten Plains and back again to find you, Morgandy." Morgandy knew where both these locations lie, and she knew that was a term for "the ends of the earth". In her heart Morgandy knew Feanin was right, but when he left he would take a part of Morgandy's heart with him. Instinctively Morgandy gave him the beryl necklace Feanin had given her so long ago when they were only wee children. "Take this," she said. "It is a piece of my heart. Remember me by it always." Feanin took it and closed his eyes as a stray tear rolled down his cheek. Morgandy wiped it away. Feanin handed her the vine necklace Morgandy had given him also when they were wee children. "Take this," he said. "It is a piece of my heart. Remember me by it always." Morgandy took it and immediately threw her arms around his neck as she broke down into sobs. "Do not fear. We will meet again." Feanin said this as he looked into her eyes one last time. He then called for a nurse to assist Morgandy, for although he would have loved to escort her back to her room, he has to hurry. As her nurse came out into the courtyard, Morgandy watched Feanin go and as soon as she lost sight of him, lost herself in sorrowful, helpless sobs.::

Luke rode the beast to the edge of the forest, the thick trees hardly allowed passage. Luke dismounted and patted the steed on its backside and sent back to the castle. Luke krept on now he felt comfortable the forest was his home away from home... ...if he had a home.

Luke repressed the unsettling thought and focused on his surrondings, something was wrong as he went deeper and deeper into the woods signs of people became more and more present. At first it was nothing more than broken branches and bent blades of grass. Then he found a carcass that had been eaten alive it seemed.

Then Luke found the most unsettling clue of all a squad of five goblins were lost in the woods and trying to find a trail they had blazed earlier. Luke was not unsettled by them but the fact where there were a few goblins the horde would not be far away. Luke pulled his katana not maling a sound in fact the only clue to the dimwitted foes came when their first comrades decapitated head fell to the ground. Shocked by the shear brutality of one human one more was cored through the chest and the other turned to ashes by a blast of raw magic energy. The other two drew their weapons but it made almost no difference the scout party were clusmy as they were ugly. As the last groan faded Luke gleaned his blade on the shoulder of a defeated foe and sheathed his sword. The goblin regiment was probaly not far if Luke killed their war lord udring the night the regiment would shatter into disarray and fight amogst themselves without a leader to instill bloodlust and fear...

::Feanin ran all the way through the city and to the edge of the forest. He had stopped in his room to grab his pack but nothing else. Though he knew his love was in agony, this was where he needed to be. As Feanin walked through the trees, looking for any sign of Luke, he heard the nearby swipe of a sword, and several cries of pain. He rushed towards the sounds with his sword drawn and found Luke in a clearing. He had clearly just encountered three goblins and had luckily killed them, for three goblin bodies were sprawled on the ground and blood was spattered on Luke's clothes. Feanin was surprised at first to see this, but surprise soon grew to anger. "Are you mad?!" Feanin spat at him fiercely. "You cannot just run off into the forest on a whim; you could've been killed! See what is here," Feanin gestured to the bodies, "you could've been. Do not be so quick to fight at the smallest sight of danger. You should've stayed at the palace. We still need you!.......Or is that it.....You don't care anymore?" Feanin had said his fill. He selfishly hoped Luke would just come back to the palace so he could be with Morgandy again.

    Meanwhile....

Most of the way back to her room Morgandy had to be dragged and finally carried by several nurses. Besides her helpless cries of woe, she kicked and thrashed about fiercely, screaming that she wanted to go after Feanin and to let her go. She finally gave in though, but they strapped her into bed and locked her door just the same. Her fit hadn't done anything good for her; it turned out she sprained both her legs in the process. She wouldn't be leaving soon. A nurse had come into the room with her, and while she was inspecting her over was scolding Morgandy for her "rash and unnessecary behavior". She found that Morgandy's legs had been sprained, and told Morgandy this, while rolling her eyes and sighing. She had begun to get Morgandy's medicine and some water and Morgandy had just ceased her sniffling when there was a pounding at the door. Her nurse jumped and asked nervously, "Who is it?" The voice that answered was a woman's voice, but not one of her nurses. They sounded out of breath but Morgandy understood, "The soul witch....seeing the Druid....asked for friend or loved one.....no living relatives.....no wife.....only friend present is she.....please....hurry." Morgandy's nurse quickly opened the door and let in the tired nurse. "Oh dear!" She cried. "I'm afraid the empath will have to wait. Miss Morgandy is in bad shape." Morgandy struggled to rise and said stubbornly, "No! I'm fine...I will go." "But Miss-" the nurse started. "No! I'm fine." Her nurse nodded and took from a nearby closet a wicker chair with a cushion and wheels for easy transportation. "But you will have to go in this," her nurse said. "We are not carrying you again and you are too hurt to walk." Morgandy nodded and the nurses helped her out of bed and into the chair. She was startled to suddenly be pushed from the room and out into the hall. Morgandy turned around and saw that the other nurse was pushing her. "So," Morgandy said. "I am going to get to see Svyel?!" The nurse nodded and rolled her eyes. "Yes I suppose you will. That soul witch insisted on it." Morgandy always hated how people had such hate toward empaths and called them this, but she knew better now than to scold someone in higher authority. She kept her mouth shut and appreciated that she was fortunate enough to see her old friend Svyel finally, though she knew he was probably still unconcious.

    Meanwhile....

In the morning Irinya and Rode had gathered their things and had eaten a quick breakfast with Fern. They were ready to leave and Rode's arm was fully healed now. When Fern asked it, Irinya and Rode agreed to let him accompany them on their journey. Fern thanked them and told them that he hardly got any business in Meil, and one day wished to travel back to his homeland of Plythel, where he was sure to be appreciated. He said since he had dedicated most of his life to his craft he had never gone on any adventures and had lately been dreaming about having one. Irinya warned him though of the dangers they would be facing and he told them he had no fear for them. Fern had decided to leave his business as it was and leave it looking as though he had gone off on business (putting a sign out that said: Gone On Far Away Business. Don't Expect To Be Back Soon.) and that when he returned (if he did) he would soon pack up and leave for Plythel. The three agreed on this and soon left. They went further to the north, the opposite direction they had come, and by noon were far past the outskirts of Meil. The day looked to be bright and the three headed in much lighter spirits towards the Nothern Wild Lands.::

Luke still in the end of his bloodrage swung around and just stopped himseld form beheading the Fae. Looking at him darkly he sheathed his sword, "I don't need a caretaker, and if you haven't noticed i tracked you for nearly a month across an assortment of terrain and never did you see me till I felt neccessary to reveal myself. Just because I am human and mortal it would be very, very unwise to underestimate me. Feain." Luke drew the name out almost teasing.

"My skills are of no use in castle or stronghold, if you haven't noticed but as every days fires burn on the farside of these woods. I don't know what Yuna had planned but those fires that burn over there weren't not here before I don't know what's going on over there but i have a good feeling its nothing healthy for us. I have no idea in hell how you followed me out of here but I can tell enough you want to get out of here. I can look after myself so run back to the castle Fae." Luke looked down his nose out him a typical act of human arrogance.

::Feanin was quiet through Luke's speech and suppressed the urge to yell again. When he was finished Feanin did say, "Again I tell you you cannot just run off without telling anyone. We still need you, though you may not think so. Is that what you think? That because you're a mere mortal everyone of Faeish and Elvish blood looks down on you?! That's rubbish. They do not and if they do well you should'nt pay them any attention. Faes and Elves may have magic and sustained abilities, but we too are just as mortal and flesh and blood as you are. Those fires by the way are none of your concern, at least not until we all leave the palace. You may be brave and strong, human," Feanin said this too with relish, "but your ignorance and pride may get the better of you one day. Tis best not to meddle in matters you ought not to meddle in. Your business is waiting at the castle if you are already healed. But if you have made your decision in leaving us, then I will leave you...to your death." Feanin smirked as he said this and chuckled a little. He couldn't help but act a bit cocky and arrogant himself, especially when he was challenged so. That was when he swiftly turned around and began walking back the way he came. He added a bit of bounce to his step to seem as though Luke was of no matter to him and that he did not care, but he did this in hopes that Luke had learned his lesson and would return to the palace.::

Bronze sat on some cushions on the floor staring at the druid if I must go inside his mind and join with him I will need someone who knows him well or I will be lost and never find my way back the joining is never easy thinking the last time he did it was with his mother on the day she died a shiver creeped up his spine.

A quick rapping at the door startled the young empath getting up slowly and opening the door Bronze looked at a crowd of nurses pushing a lovely women in some weird chair with wheels.Smiling "hello m'lady are you who I sent for?" his blue eyes scanning over her injurys" do you need some healing dear lady?" opening the door wide so the nurses could push her through.

OOC: I tried to post earlier (after I saw Luke's last post) and it was really long too, (by the way, Tyrion, thanks for introducing me because it saves me alot of time although I was really frustrated when I couldn't post the reply I wanted to). Anyway, here's my modified reply.

::Feanin glanced back and was relieved to see Luke following him, though he did not show this. He walked a bit faster for he wished to get back to the palace soon.

    Meanwhile....

Morgandy looked up at the empath and was startled to see that this was the same young man who had looked down upon Feanin and herself less than an hour ago. She blushed slightly. Just moments ago the nurse escorting Morgandy had made a rude comment about "soul witches". Morgandy had defended the empath and scolded her. This chamber was large and dimly lit. In the middle of the room on a healing bed lay Svyel, still montionless and unconcious. Morgandy gasped at the sight of him, and she looked up into the empath's eyes. "Sir," she said shyly, "I believe my nurses have done a fine job of bringing me back to my health, and I would be walking if I had not made such a fit earlier and damaged my legs badly again. But, what about Svyel? Why did you call me here, Sir? Of what help can I be?" Morgandy thought, of none. She was in a most pitiful state, in this chair and her legs all limp and her body badly bruised. Morgandy thought though that if she could be of any service she would do it for Svyel.::

Luke trudged on behind Feanin brooding, the rate Feanin was traveling Luke guessed something must of been going down when he left. The rithmic padding of their feet on the ground was almost muscial. Thump. Thump. Luke let thoughts drift a little. Thump. Thump. A flight of birds took off in the distnace. Thump. Thump. CRUNCH!

Luke didn't bother to look behind himself he grabbed Feanin and shoved him into the brush and covered his mouth. For a second there was nothing then a series of thumps came then another like marching. Luke smelled them long before he saw the first. Goblins, at least a whole regiment marched in unison. Metal armor clanged, screaming, grunts, and garbled language filled the sir with sounds that most humans had been fortunate not to here. The army marched by Feanin and Luke without more than a second glance even after they left horse flies and other insects still wafted in the air. As the last of the goblins moved more toward the edge of the forest.

Luke walked over to a tree and nearly barfed the smell was so overpowering he almost passed out. Coughing and sputtering he looked at Feanin, "If we get back in one piece I'll buy you a round."

::Feanin could hardly speak. First of all he was so startled at the sight of the goblins and second of all their putrid stench still lingered, and he gagged. Slowly he rose from the ground and looked worriedly at Luke. "Where," he gasped, "do you think....they were going? I've a bad feeling they're headed straight for the castle. Come! If we are quick and quiet we can sneak up and attack them before they reach the city gates!" Feanin drew his sword and began to swiftly creep through the trees. He motioned for Luke to follow. Feanin was tired of Luke's attitude towards whatever motive or idea Feanin had, and wished he would for once trust Feanin on something. By now twilight had fully settled in and the dark sky made it hard to see among the dense forest.

    Meanwhile...

Irinya, Rode, and Fern were camped in a shallow valley, surrounded by towering rolling hills of green. Just to the north was a dense, dark pine forest. It would be hard to see through in daylight and harder at night. For now the small company enjoyed a night around the fire before their hard trek through the forest the next day. Rode and Fern were now singing sonnets and poems accompanied by Fern's lyre. Along with being an amazing medic, Fern was also an accomplished musician. Irinya sat on a rock nearby. She was trying to enjoy the merry-making; indeed many of the poems and sonnets were some of her favorites. Although, a dreadfully heavy weight had settled over her. She had recently begun to realize the seriousness of this journey and also of where they were headed. Did they really know where they were going? Or were they just wandering aimlessly in the wrong direction? How exactly were they supposed to destroy the crystal? She had asked Fern some of these questions earlier, and luckily he had at least known that they were headed towards the Great North Caves, where the wise seer and sorceress, Syella lived. It was known that she had answers to most questions, and was said to know much of the Crystal. Fern said she would most definitely have answers to all their questions. He also said it would take about two weeks travelling time to get there, if they were not so deterred. Remembering Fern's words, Irinya smiled with comfort. She held the blue crystal in her hands now. She wondered if Syella would know what the strange language on the crystal meant. She probably would, and she could probably answer all their questions about the crystal. However, Irinya could not help feeling worried, feeling as though this quest was never meant for her, or Rode, or Fern for that matter. She felt as though she could not possibly be of any help to destroy the crystal. And Irinya knew, oh she knew well, that the world may not even know of their quest yet and probably many hadn't even heard of the crystal, that the entire fate of the world rested on her delicate, small shoulders. Irinya now put away these thoughts for now and put the crystal back in her pocket. She walked back towards the others and tried to enjoy one last night at least, before the journey really started.::

::All through this strange occurrence Morgandy couldn't speak. A great warmth had come over her and the soreness and aching of her body eased a bit. She felt like she could walk again. Morgandy let the empath help her up, and sure enough, she could stand! The joyful Fae smiled broadly and began to walk with her bare feet on the cold marble floor; even leap and skip. She felt so much better now; physically and emotionally. This was quite a stretch from the state she had been in earlier; in pain and sorrow for Feanin. Morgandy didn't know how she could thank the empath. She also didn't know how everyone could hold empaths in such low respects for all the good they did. "Thank you ever so much," Morgandy said, "I am sure the medics could never heal me as well as you." She smiled. This was the least she could do. "Now," she said, "What about Svyel? Why'd you call me down here? Do you think you'll be able to heal him? What do you think happened to him?" Morgandy couldn't help in asking all these questions. They had not been answered yet and she had been waiting for quite a while to ask them.

    Meanwhile...

Feanin felt his way through the trees. It was now pitch black and the sky was overcast. No light of moon or stars shone. Immediately he remembered the light orb incantation, which would give them light to see. He also remembered the hiding incantation, which would shelter their light from the goblins eyes, and also partly hide themselves. Feanin had learned both these spells in early magic school, a required class which every Fae from the age of two to one-hundred took. Feanin used both these spells at once, and they did a world of good. Feanin and Luke were able to creep along faster with better vision (but of course they had to be quiet) and in no time they could tell they were gaining on the army of goblins by the lingering stench they had left in their path. Feanin covered his mouth and nose and trudged on as his eyes stung and watered. Soon after, the glowing orb floating above them revealed the open plain before Hillanya, and the goblins camped not twenty yards off. Quickly Feanin held Luke back. There was still chance of being seen and heard. The goblins were now spread out along the plain, and there were many of them. It would be both difficult and dangerous for only the two of them to fight all these armed goblins, but they had no choice. Feanin looked at Luke and said, "Are you ready?"::

Luke nodded, he placed a hand on Feanin's shoulder signaling him too wait. Luke closed his eyes and started to meditate minutes went by, but Luke kept a firm grip on Feanin's shoulder. Suddenly a loud blast of thunder sounded across and a heavy down pour started, souking things in seconds.

Luke released Feanin and breathed deeply, "thought a little cover would be nice." Luke eyes seemed to sag a little but he was battle ready. Luke leapt to his feat and quickly crept past a miserable scout, when behind the scout he in fluid motion behead the beasty without a sound. The others startled took more time to react. Luke felled two more before the others pressed an attack.

::Feanin quickly and quietly beheaded two more scout goblins before they could send word to the other goblins. 'If they were to do this successfully,' thought Feanin, 'then they must kill each and every goblin quickly and quietly. They were too far outnumbered for any wild battle cries or charges.' Luckily, Faes were known for their quiet feet; Feanin only hoped Luke could be as quiet. Without more thought he motioned for Luke to follow him along the perimeter of the camp. If his plan worked, they could kill off from the outside in and soon have the rest cornered. So far, this went well. Feanin sprang upon outside goblins, beheading them before they knew they were dead. Soon, Feanin and Luke had cleared the entire perimeter. Now the few inside goblins were left. Feanin realized though that the goblins had begun to tell that some of their army were missing or dead. They all drew their weapons; goblin blades and dark spears by the look of them. Feanin and Luke had begun to sneak upon the armed goblins, but that was when one spotted him. "I'll tear off 'is legs an' put 'im in a stew!" Shouted the fearsome goblin. Feanin quickly beheaded him too, but not before he received a slash to the chin and the other goblins spotting them both. Now Feanin feared it. They had been seen, they were still outnumbered, and now, they were doomed.

    Meanwhile....

Morgandy rushed to the empath's side. She could tell something was terribly wrong but couldn't tell what. Suddenly she felt as though she had been thrown into a whirlwind. Now, like the empath, she too felt his feelings. Morgandy clutched at her heart as feelings of terror, helplessness, and rejection overwhelmed her. Morgandy staggered at the empath's side and she too fell. Their emotions were merging and soon Morgandy could take no more. She gasped one last breath of air, and then fainted, and soon she knew nothing more, and her world turned black.

    Meanwhile....

Irinya jerked in her sleep and suddenly woke in a cold sweat, screaming. She, Rode, and Fern had extinquished the fire and had gone to bed. Rode and Fern slept peacefully but Irinya's sleep was restless and full of terrible nightmares. She had dreamed that she was back in her castle home, and Morgandy was there, which was strange because Irinya knew she had left when she and Rode had. Morgandy was in the medic's closed quarters and she seemed to be writhing in pain or some sort of agony. She had been with a man, who was dressed in the garb of an empath. He too seemed to be experiencing the same agony and the palace Druid, Svyel, was lying unconcious on a healing bed. Her second dream was of Morgandy's friend, Feanin, which was strange that Irinya should dream of him because she had met him but once. He was with a strange, fierce looking man who looked to be a samurai. They were fighting off a group of fearsome goblins. Irinya woke up after these dreams and had screamed. Suddenly she wondered if all these fears she had been having about Morgandy and her company were going to happen, had happened, or were happening. Fear clutched Irinya's heart and soon Rode stirred from Irinya's scream. Fern slept still, though, he must have been a heavy sleeper. Rode looked frantically at Irinya. "Are you okay?" he said. "I heard you scream. What do you fear?" Irinya was ashamed. She didn't know whether or not she should tell Rode of her dreams and visions. What would he do? What would he think? Irinya feared this so much that she lied and said, "'Tis alright. I thought I saw a mouse." She smiled, trying to seem more convincing. Rode rolled his eyes and lay back down. Irinya realized it wasn't a very good cover up, for in the wild they were sure to find many mice. All the same she too lay back down and endured the rest of the long, terror-filled night.::

Luke slipped infront of Feanin and deftly sliced the arm off a goblin that has a battle axe raised. Luke moved like fluid through the goblins, one recieved a slash in the face another a cut that split his legs from under him.
"Get out of here now Feanin." Luke's voice was even and surpirsingly flat. "I can deal with the goblins but you have to get out of here now."

OOC: I guys. Sorry I haven't posted recently. My life has been a moving hell on wheels. I'm back at school now so I should be able to post daily again.

Svyel's body lay there and the small white fox leapt into the bag again. (The bag fell limp as though the fox wasn't in it though)

Otiluke searched. The search for the druid helped to take his mind of his thirst for blood. An area of the forest nearby was filled with the shrieks of goblins being hacked to pieces. Maybe some one had died and feasting on a persons blood who wouldn't need it anymore didn't bother Otiluke. He made his way to a large area that was obviously the battle field. He saw 2 men hacking away at goblins and they were yelling something at eachother. He couldn't quite hear over the din that a goblin was making while charging at him. "Huh..." the goblin was now in arms reach and quickly lost his arm. Otiluke knew not to drink goblin blood because that could make anyone ill. Goblin blood went flying everywhere and spattered on the brown leaves of the trees. This caught Otilukes eye. Weren't the trees green just a moment ago. The trees were dying... very quickly

OOC: Luke, do you mean that your legs were chopped off? And Svyel, why has your life been a moving hell on wheels? You can tell me. :)

::Feanin looked sadly into Luke's eyes. "I wilt not leave you here for goblin food, my friend," he said, reaching out a hand to help him up. He quickly noticed that a goblin was about to smash him to bits. Feanin moved aside quickly and chopped its head off. As the other goblins moved in, Feanin noticed a movement just near the edge of the trees. It moved swiftly out of sight though, and Feanin realized that it might be the vampire, Otiluke.

    Meanwhile....

Irinya shifted her pack onto her pack and made sure that Rode and Fern were ready also. She tried to seem happy. She still hadn't told them about her dreams of the night before or her recurring visions and forebodings. Without a word they all trudged up the steep slope out of the valley and into the treacherous forest. Almost as soon as they entered into the dense wood, nearly all light was choked out and could only be seen through rare specks through the treetops. As the light faded, Irinya's hopes faded too and for the rest of the long journey of the day they hardly spoke and Irinya had only her troubled thoughts running through her head while she staggered through the forest's troublesome underbrush and dangerous tree trunks while she could barely see ten feet in front of her. She dearly hoped that her visions were just bad dreams and Morgandy and her company were safe, in good health, and enjoying themselves.::

OOC: No, sorry my bad grammar is acting up again I meant to say I cut off a goblin's legs.

IC: Luke shrugged off Feanin, "It's just goblin blood that sprayed on me, but you need to go now." With that Luke lifted his hand up, palm out and pushed Feanin away. Suddenly an invisble force that emanated from Luke slammed into Feanin throwing him well clear of the fight, and well out of view of any further conflict. Luke's eye started to glaze over a little, slight skin colors appeared that normaly should have never appeared on any human being. But Luke was far from the ordinary. A red and black pattern formed on Luke, some of the goblins stopped dead in their tracks others tried to run.

With a loud roar that shook the trees, a twisted sort of laughing sounded through the plains. Even the katana that Luke usualy carried had gone under a transformation, the one elegant blade was black twisted and wicked looking. With one sweep he slayed five goblins, two withered in pain. The beast grabbed one goblin had ripped his throat out through the back of his head along with the top half of the spinal column...

... Luke awoke. It was morning Luke's clothes were ripped and strechted his katana was soaked in blood staining the blade, Luke had dark bruises all over his body. Not more than ten feet away a triangle burned low. Luke walked over and looked at it. My lord they were bodies, horribly mutilated goblin bodies burnt even the bones were blackened. Oh no, what have I done? Luke thought.

OOC: That's ok, Luke. :) And, Svyel, I know school can be a pain sometimes. Sorry your having a rough time. :)

::Feanin hardly knew what had happened before he realized he was about thirty yards from where he had just stood a second ago. He didn't know what had happened, but he knew Luke wanted him to leave and if he really didn't need his help, why should Feanin help? So he turned his back on the camp and began trudging back towards the city gates. Feanin couldn't help crying, though. He had held his tears in for so long, through all the pain, sorrow, confusion, and disappointments. Now he let them out in a steady stream of tears. Nothing now could make him feel better, except seeing Morgandy again. He held that in mind as his goal and staggered on towards the city. Feanin looked in his locket at the picture of Morgandy, and this made him have some hope. "Please," he pleaded, "please! Let me see her again! One last time before I'm gone!" Unfortunately for poor Feanin, at exactly this moment, a goblin came up behind him and knocked him out cold. He fell to the ground, went black, and knew nothing more.

It seemed like days later that Feanin woke. He still lay on the ground, and when he tried to move his whole body ached in pain. Feanin finally got up the strength to stand and when he did his eyes took some adjusting. It wasn't long though, till he saw he was still at the goblin camp, and that about twenty yards off was a triangle shape that he made out to be goblin bodies. Right there, he revolted; from the stench, his pain, malnutrition, and the grusome sight. He wiped his mouth and saw that Luke still stood in the goblin camp, also looking horrified at the sight.

    Meanwhile....

With some struggling, Morgandy awoke, in the same place she had fallen, and looked up into Bronze's face. "What happened?I-I'm sorry...I lost control...so many feelings....what do you need?" With great struggling Morgandy got up without help. Her head and thoughts still swam in and out and she felt like the room was spinning. Morgandy's head ached terribly and her legs were sore again, but she made it over to where Bronze was standing near Svyel's still unconcious body. Suddenly Morgandy sensed what the empath sensed, and great fear sprang into her heart. She blurted, "We must hurry and help Svyel!"

    Meanwhile....

Irinya, Fern, and Rode now camped inside the thick forest. They were all sitting around the fire, but were making no music for these woods were treacherous and they feared that goblins or other terrible creatures would attack. Suddenly Irinya shivered as she had another vision. Morgandy, and all her company, seemed to be in great sorrow, pain, and danger. Rode had noticed this sudden change in Irinya, how she had suddenly became distant and fretful. He noticed this now when Irinya shivered, though the fire kept them very warm. "Irinya," he said, "May I have a word?" She nodded hesitantly and they got up away from the fire and Fern and walked off a bit into the trees. "I've noticed a change in you," Rode said sternly, "you're not yourself anymore. You seem cold, distant, disturbed, and you hardly eat or sleep. I also just noticed you shiver just now. That can't be from being cold; it is very warm by the fire. What is it?" Irinya sighed and reluctantly told Rode everything. "Do you think we should tell Fern?" Irinya asked when she was done. Rode was deep in thought. "Well," he said, "Fern is not an empath, or a seer, or a normal wizard for that matter. Fern is a medical wizard. I doubt he would have answers for you, and if he did have answers they probably would not be right anyway. I would wait until we got to the Great North Caves. When we find Syella, you should tell her. I'm sure she'll have answers. In the meantime, try not to worry. You can tell me your troubles and I'll try my best to comfort you." Rode smiled and put his arm around Irinya. "Oh Rode," she said, "In all my times of trouble you've always been there for me. I can never thank you enough," she smiled. Rode shrugged it off as they went back to the campfire.::

Luke looked at Feanin and saw the gortesque look on his face, however he got back here Luke didn't remember he was just thankful he didn't accidently kill him too.

"Feanin, I need to tell you something." Luke came over and sat down next to Feanin. "That story about the village and them being held against me, well that's not really true. For almost twenty years I've been known as a man-demon called Bathazar." Luke held up his hand and told Feanin to just listen. "When I was younger I wasn't noble or any of that high and mighty ideals. I was just a powerhungry young boy. In my youth I met Yuna one time when i was off on my own trying to find something to help me gain power. I met her, she promised more power than I could possibly imagine and she corrupted me Feanin more than I already was. Feanin it wasn't just some beast that mutilated these goblings. I did that." He looked down on the ground saw claw marks on the skull of one demon. "Feanin I was her lietenant. She gave me all the power I wanted but I could only have it when i surrendered myself completely to evil, I became a beast Feanin, and when I was that beast I destroyed my own homem, I.. I... I killed them all Feanin. Men, women, children. I burnt my own home and the homes of my friends down Feanin. It took me years to regain a sliver of my selfcontrol. You may think me foolish for not being afraid of anything, but Feanin the thing that scares me more than anything is myself." Luke shoulder's sagged as if talking had been more exhausting than any fight.

"Feanin I can't stand being in cities because I can't imagine what would happen if I ever let my guard down again. Last... Last night was barely a sample of the tradgies that I have committed. Feanin I joined you and Morgandy and Syvel because deep down I'm scared of what Yuna will do with power that the crystal will give her. I mean if she could give me the kinds of things that nightmares are made of, then what could she do with a crystal like the one that I was hunting?"
