Ah ha! We have approached a conundrum unique to forum games!

I think the answer is that i am at fault. My post after Pariah's confirmed that such a thing had occurred; if i had held out sufficiently, there would have been more time for discussion. My desires to plough the game forward has denied the rest of you your opinion!

so, i think what i must do is impose a rule on myself! From now on, i cannot post my next move, or results of your actions, until everyone else has posted and had a chance to act.
When you post, post your intentions (and roll your dice if you wish/if necessary) and once everyone has had a chance to react, i'll post the results.

There will be exceptions to this rule - mostly in the case that someone has not posted for a couple of days. But generally this is how i will do it from now.

So even if you have nothing significant to add to a situation, everyone should at least post that you're standing there picking your nose, so i can continue.

As for the current situation; yes, what's done is done. We shall just say Duxo's intentions weren't fully clear until it was too late to stop him :D

Lets not argue amongst one another - there is nothing that cannot be resolved through discussion! :D

does this sound acceptable to all?
  2. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #42
    Sure :)
Basically, if I don't post for a day or two, it's my own fault, it's not like I am even allowed to go anywhere without my laptop and internet connection.

    Pariah:
Sure, the robber would hang as sure as the sun rises the next morn. But a little questioning would be nice, for knowledge is power.
Also, there will be times when matters are less clear-cut, and my character would prefer at least some consensus on murder outside of combat.

RP-wise, it's nice and sound and I (the player) like what you did there.
  3. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #43
Don't forget there are other people who may hold knowledge, also :p nobody has asked Tar-Sul his story yet :o
  4. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #44
Uh-oh, bad move, Pariah. If that was an insult, you should know Zelas speaks rabble and there's a reason the saying goes; Don't bully the glass man.  :mace: In fact, that's a question right there, what was the insult, how severe?

does this sound acceptable to all?

As for out of game discussion, that sounds great SE. It was very sudden is all and I don't hold you at fault, Pariah, for following your character's motivation, as I do the same, which you will come to notice now, when you seemingly insulted a Ouzquin Dremorix.  :bat: But now that we have established the rules, hopefully this won't be a problem again. On to more fun things!  :D
  5. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

Alright, drama should be over now.  Where I'm at this room is about to be stripped of everything but the wine and then we're off to the left tunnel.  So unless anyone disagrees, a list of loot and on we go :D
  6. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #46
    Loot from the Wine Room:

    15gp
    Silver ring (40gp)
    Copper Necklet (30gp)
    Well crafted Sandles (30gp)
    Bronze Plaque (10gp)
    Short Sword
    Dagger
2x flasks of 'Bargarett Red' (10gp each)

Now, someone lead the way and we'll continue on :D
  7. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #47
Ooooh, dibs on at least one bottle of wine!

Edit: Oh, I already got em I see. Way to prioritize, SE!  :D
  8. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

I will push the game forth tomorrow; going back to the fork in the cave, unless anyone has any other directions they would like to take.
  9. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #49
Nudging the game forth :) if there was anything more anyone wanted to do before going down the other tunnel, post it in here.

Duxo will share this officially at a later date, but in the meantime...

A high perception roll has granted you sight of the two hidden guards, and an ear in the conversation of the two other guards.

"...Can't believe he sent that girl away! She had some fire to her!"

"She was a real looker, huh? I would've done some nasty stuff to her if Korkarr wasn't so damn possessive!"

"Yeah. But it was like she was the one that was in control; never seen a prisoner make so many demands."

"That's just how they are east of the swamp, i'm told. Goddamn knights always expect to be obeyed. Still; Korkarr's the boss. If he wants to send her away, so be it!"

"But to Ruk-Ko-La!? Why go through the trouble of sending her all the way to Esgoloth? Seems like a lot of trouble just to share a woman around..."
The two guards turn away, their voices now too muffled for any further listening.

You can post this conversation in OOC if you wish, but if you don't talk about it in character, the others 'ain't heard it

Esgol Dwarves! And some info on White-Orc history!
  13. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

Me think it fishy that Duxo would promise not to murder any more sleeping guards and then request a sleep spell... O_< :sherlock:
Think I'll hold off on posting till I see a map.
  14. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #54
    Poor Duxo - So misunderstood.

Okay, rough mspaint sketch! 4 people in total seen in the cavern, 4 torches burning on the east side. Pool of water on the west. Cave floor rises at the north side and a door lies on the far end. Stalagmites jutting up.
    The Floor seems pretty uneven.

  15. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #55
    Scale?
  16. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #56
Somewhat arbitrary. It's more just for an added visual for the place.

For the sake of planning though; the cavern itself is roughly 40 feet across by 80 long. Suffice it to say, you cannot reach and attack the back two guards in one round (except by ranged)

The front-left guard is the man with the spear, the front-right is the woman.
  17. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #57
Goss, you got it all wrong.  He requested a sleep spell then said he wouldn't murder them in their sleep.  Now, waking them up then murdering them's a different story :P

Anyone have an idea on how to get our 2 groups of guards to get close enough together for Nim to put them out?
  18. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #58
You could have all of them gang up on Sigurd :D
  19. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #59
I'm set to go on a road trip at the end of this week for a few days, so i'll be scarce; I may not post at all on Fri/Sat/Sun. Just so's you all know :D

    :sharpen:
  20. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #60
Have we decided on a method to attack?

Like I said in my post, I personally think we would have the biggest chance of catching them all in the sleep spell if Sigurd approaches them alone.
I think it makes more sense for a group to split up if they were just investigating a noise than if they saw a lone enemy.

And of course there's still the chance of the spell failing, but we would be maximizing our chances if you target all of them.

Do we vote or? How do y'all wanna do this?
  21. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #61
Our leader, Sir Sigurd, shall be the one to make the final decision. We are but mewling minions, groveling and kissing his freshly- cleaned feet.

All we petty, insignificant beings do is attempt our feeble forms of persuasion, as he decides how to proceed, and whether our persuading is insubordinate and deserving of death.

I mean, unless you guys want a democracy. Demy-sefrab was pretty clear that Sigurd was team leader, but if we do use the vote for decisions, Auxzali's counts thrice. Once for himself, and twice for Axtrami. As is only natural.

I had to re-check that, so he did(make him leader I mean).

Only Demy-Sefrab may or may not be a traitor luring us to our deaths, remember? :P

  23. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #63
Aye, Demy-Sefrab did indeed appoint Sigurd as leader.

i leave in a few hours, so this scenario may be slow :( after the weekend i should be able to speed it up wa bit though.
  24. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #64
Yeah, I'm all for Sigurd wading in to the heat of battle by his lonesome, but the moment bow girl steps away to stay out of sword range she's getting a sling stone in the eye, the sleep spell only covers 10 ft.

Anyway, we've got 2 more days to figure out the optimal plan.
  25. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #65
Sorry, busy, will try to post over weekend.
  26. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #66
Okey done, i am somewhat back now - I'll start posting again starting tomorrow, provided everyone is still interested in continuing - we all still in?

also, what's the plan? Ghost sounding? Sending Sigurd to the wolves? Another plan?
  27. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #67
I'm assuming sometime in the next 24 hours Sigurd is going to do something brave; otherwise Duxo will do something bloodthirsty and stupid. :D
  28. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

Good stuff ;D lets give Echo this coming day/night to have a chance to post, and if he doesn't, we shall improvise.

Woah woah woah, you've done your fair share of bloody murder already! :P If Echo doesn't post, I'll use ghost sound then(tonight at Monday) and then Nim can try to put em to sleep, least we'll have tried something to spare their lives, there'll be plenty of opportunity for murder if we fail.

I was just going to do a called shot on the bow womans knee, I swear.

    Contents of the bandits haul:
Three large hessian sacks and two small leather pouches, all empty.
One pound of Wildeweed Tobacco Wrapped in Wax paper. (150gp value) (Grown on the outskirts of the Karikun desert near the Sen-Rab border where vegetation starts to thrive, the Wildeweed strain of tobacco leaf is is potent and popular, and shipped across most of Asydia.)

three heavy sacks of grains, flour and rice (30gp value each, but too heavy to cart out.)
One pound of dried apples (20gp value)
1/2 pound of dried meat (20gp value)
Three fragile vials of effervescent liquid, two with a milky red colour and one mostly transparent orange.

One wooden box packed with straw, inside of which (to Auxzali's dismay) lay three beautiful, perfect spheres of glass - the life spheres of three Ouzquin Dremorix people. The carved and painted designs on them were a swirling of thorny vines, the tooth of a great cat, and the full moon. (value: 100gp each)
Two spools of thin, decorative fabric, (40gp value each)

    On the guard Auxzali found:
    One large, well-crafted Scimitar, Masterwork.
One ornamental, Royal Guard headpiece (40gp)
One small, round shield, gold plated (125gp)
    A set of gator-hide armour.
A set of Gator-Hide forearm bracers.
    A set of Gator-Hide sandals.
    A golden, solid Sen-Rabbin necklet.
Six silver earrings, all taken from the guard's left ear.
The armour, bracers and golden necklet all exude an aura of magic!
Finally, this dangerous job was beginning to show promise!

Should the group choose to strip the bandits of their belongings, they have:
    Three shortwords, battered.
    One spear.
    One short dagger, silver.
    One crossbow, 10 bolts.
    Two leather suits of armour.
    22gp between them all.
Two solid copper sen-rabbin  necklets. (10gp each)
Three silver hoop earrings (15gp each)

  32. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #72
Fyi: the royal guard was only found because you specifically mentioned looking in the water, Caesar.
  33. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #73
I say we strip the guards of all coinage, also Duxo needs a 4th knife.  He might not get to kill them like they deserve for taking him hostage for no reason at all, but gold is always good.  :D
  34. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #74
That's what i would do! All you have to do now is convince Zelas and Sigurd. I think Nim will be fine with that somehow, and Auxzali seems a more reasonable sort :p

perhaps playing on those glass spheres will win Zelas over :D and Sigurd.? I'm sure he'll understand!
  35. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #75
Nim Would like the bracers, and her gold share worth of earrings and jewelry.
  36. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #76
Ah, my lovely, lovely loot. Have you ever seen a more beautiful sight? By the way, Auxzali calls dibs on that necklet, by the way, unless its cursed or unusable by clerics or something.

And we're burying the life spheres. Unless your supposed to do something different with them. I mean, it'd be impractical to comb the entire desert to find the three people missing there spheres. SE, what would the culture of the Ouzquin Dremorix demand Auxzali to do with them?
  37. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #77
I can see three potential courses of action, Caesar:

1: bury the orbs in the ground, thus giving the deceased the proper respect and reverence they deserve. (provided it isn't dug up again)

2: Hold onto them and find their families when next you see Bareka, that they may grieve properly (probably the most 'lawful-good' way to go about it)

3: tell yourself that Axtrami knows that one must do what it takes to survive, and sell the orbs for gold! (probably not the most favourable option, and would be met with scorn should your fellow Glassmen find out.)
  38. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #78
Ooooh, that's a lot of loot. Zelas would like the tobacco, the vials and perhaps the sandals, plus a share of gold obviously.
Can I appraise the vials, or is that more of a value thing? If I can; 14 +9

Also, this changes everything! If they've been stealing life-orbs, I say kill the guards and take their loot!  :sharpen:
Oh and I also vote for finding the families and retrieving the orbs to them.
  39. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #79
Just so you all know, Auxzali will make a move to stop Zelas from killing the guard if Sigurd does not. And two, how can we be sure the Dremorix who wore the three hemisa came from Bareka? The bandit doesn't know, we don't know, and there's a bunch of alternate places the fallen Ouzquin Dremorix could be buried. For all we know, they could have immigrated to Hyparica! Though Auxzali would appreciate paying them the best final respects possible, he has other things to do. And though as a player I'd like to sell them, Auxzali is voting for burying them.

Oh, and I say we loot the guards, strip them of everything (including clothes- i'm sure we can sell them for some amount of money- plus they'll be less likely to turn around and try to face us after we humiliate them so badly) and release them into the muck. Ignorance is not a crime worthy of death, as Auxzali shall argue if it falls to him to save the guard.
  40. Re: [Asydia] OOC: Humble Beginnings

    #80
I'm not saying to make it our primary quest. If we don't run into em, we can always bury the orbs later. If we do find the families though we'll probably be rewarded for it, so there's that.
