Color Intro
He stepped through the door slowly, grinning.
Strolling nonchalantly to the bar he brushed the dust from his kilt. He leaned on his staff and motioned for the barman. With a grimace he fished a couple of his remaining coppers from his pouch. “Mead” he said quietly “and keep ‘em coming”.
He scanned the room quickly as he pulled off his pack.
Not a bad crowd he thought sure hope they’re a bit more profitable than the last. He looked more slowly now, each patron in turn.
Road dust and weapons… places like this are always the same, full of the adventurous type. Always looking for the greener pastures, fame and glory.
He hefted his pack over his shoulder and, cup in hand, moved towards the fire. He leaned his staff by the hearth and carefully set his pack down by a chair.
"Let’s see is there are any patrons of the arts here" he mumbled to himself. He opened his pack and drew out a large slim drum shaped like a buckler. Sitting in the chair next to the hearth he produced a double ended beater from his kilt. He began a rubato beat his father taught him as a boy.
And tonight it will be... he thought, looking about the room. The mood was hard to capture, so he continued the lilting rhythm and scanned the room again.
Well, it’s to be a story then, a recitative piece.
He cleared his throat softly and waited for the beat to open for him to begin...

Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#410Welcome, Mr. Wanderer! -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#411The good news is that I will have lots of vacation time soon, and will ratchet this bad-boy up a few notches. This I vow. I have been slack for a week and half or so, but that will change very soon.
--welcome Wanderer!
--yes, I am still keeping track of XP/AC/HP in the background. Just keep track of your items, please.
--as always, any and all suggestions/ideas/thoughts welcomed. -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...INTERLUDE
#412Okay, I guess the dead give-away is that I've been posting more in OOC than in RP. *SIGH*.
"Always leave em' wanting more", is one of my favorite expressions. Alas, its too late for that :P
The game has obviously slowed. Three 'L' words come to mind, languid, languish and lament. Oh, and *SIGH* a bit to many players, me'thinks (my fault)
Let me get to the point. I suggest we give the game a rest. I do think an 'old-school' fantasy RP like this, CAN be revived at a monents notice, so we have that going for us. However, I think it would be healthy at this stage to take a break. Ironic, (I hope I used ironic correctly) since I have vacation coming up. Dang!
I know its obviously a weird time 'in game' to stop, but what the heck. So, here is my suggestion, lets take a break of 2-3 weeks, or so. If nothing else, It will allow me to recharge my own batteries and make it kick-ass again.
BTW, Chap III is entitled "Homecomings" (Vee-Nimz, Moruz-Desertlands, Aerex and Talia-Jantir, Kadarin- "Hi Uncle", etc......) It will feature a completely different approach and vibe (which I am currently working out in my head). Perhaps you will even run into old friends (Tristan & Aethelstan!!!) and new ones (Donovan). You will also "accelerate" your characters. We will be playing a mid-level and then high-level game version of this bad-boy!!
The mages wont be useless!!! MWAHAHA...ack.
We WILL complete Chap. II though! The Stone Giant is going to stomp you.
I want to keep this game sharp, rapid-fire, clever, and most of all...fun. Hence the break.
Hope everyone had (is having) a good time, i know I am!
As usual, all thoughts/comments/suggestions are most welcome! -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#413I understand good GM. By all means, take a break. I'd rather that than you get burned out. -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#414I look forward to continuing in a few weeks. :) -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#415Sounds fun -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#416Sounds good - and chapter 3 sounds interesting, too! :D I Look forward to the continuation of this game! -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#417Ditto with that. I've been rather short-handed when it comes to time to type up the sidestory I'm working on. 2-3 weeks should let everything cool off for all of us.
Random side note: what is everyone's opinion of that first post? I'm always wanting to improve my style and prose technique. -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#418Sound the Drums!! (or at least break out a flute) 1/06/07 -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#419Woo!
*plays his electric mandolin* -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#420Voon! :D -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#421Wulf pulls down the dumbek from on top of the bookshelf and trys a few experimental rhythms...
Yep. Ready to roll! -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#422Nyuu? :what: -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#423I'm jumping the gun and posting today cause I won't be here for 2 days. -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#424sorry, 24 hour delay. My mother in law came over to babysit and my wife and I get to go out to dinner for the first time in months.
Will begin RP, Sunday Morning EST -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#425Yes, go enjoy alone time! I know enough about kids to know you don't get much when you have them. -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#426I'll be waiting. *grins* -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#427GRRRRR, Real Life interferes anew, this fine Sunday. Before Midnight tonight, I WILL(!!!) post and everything will be up to speed!! -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#428Okay, SE and Cap are up first. Their situation is a bit easier to handle. (though they may be dead in a matter of minutes :P)
Will add the other group's post later tonight. -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#429Wow, and here I was thinking that I was gonna be gone for all the action. -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#430Hm. Total party kill, anyone? But I trust that Muro rolls a mighty 20 for my check and I turn Onruld's ass back to the grave. -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#431I didn't think Onruldt was doing anything in particular, but after having a Half-Ogre flop onto him, he might be a bit peevish....
Hopefully, the animating force behind the sword is necromantic or ghostly, and will be impressed by a suitably mighty turn attempt. -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#432Strange how swords are more dangerous when not weilded by people. What are soldiers useful for anyways? O.o -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#433Muro, I just wanted to suggest that Moruz's suicidal attack on the stone giant should have some chance that it finds him amusing and only maims him...
He should at least get a "What the heck?" bonus as the giant tries to figure out what the heck he's doing...
-
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#434I'm still in, Vee just doesnt have anything of value to add at the moment. -

Dang straight! :p -
Re: OOC: Back in the Day...
#436Hit Points: Moruz-1, Vorodon-5
Random Thoughts:
--Jjuldae looks like this at the moment
http://www.weirfield.co.uk/19.05.04/Osprey%20(3).JPG
or like this, if you prefer a "noble" look http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0f/OspreyNASA.jpg/250px-OspreyNASA.jpg
He is Pandion Haliaetus
--Tomorrow, I will detail the 'Three Mistakes' of Onruldt the Smith Prince, the erstwhile scimitar, the mallet, and the turtle shiled.
--Chap II is arching towards its exciting and bizarre, climax and conclusion!!!

#440Let me be the first to congratulate Jujuldae on his bold new look!
