   It's funny though how only the posts of cindrella were targeted. Were it not over a year since she has posted them, I'd be inclined to think it was a spammer too! All say edited by Scrasamax... odd.

   If they have a lot of crap I think if you ban them then delete the account the ban stays in affect and deleting the account gives the option to remove all posts by that user. Saves some clicks on the deleting process when it is a multi-post spambot or something. Might save a little time.

    Can we add Admin approval before granting write access to the forums?  Or, only allow new members to post something real in the greeting subject?
    
    Basically, allow us to vouch that they are indeed human and not a spammer?

    Removed NUMDYENCECOMI and deannarey, but the posts were not removed, had to be killed manually. They had a different icon, so maybe they would be deleted later on or something, but we don't have to wait on that, now do we?  D'arrrrrrr! Spamerrrrr! Attack!

    Seriously, I think new members should be activated by Admin, or by referral by an existing member who has earned 1 level.  I think this would cut down the number of pure spammers, and should not really slow down real membership growth that much.
    
    I'd just google a new user's handle to see if it was used in other forums as a spammer, as some of these have.
    
    Though, of course, Admin could easily become a bottleneck.

    What about our passive defenses? Does the Captcha work, or is an upgrade needed? There's also ways to limit the ability of users to create posts with links - until they make X other posts first, are members for Y days, etc. How about that?

    I'm in a groove. Its getting easy  :). Every day a new "cherylsandsj" or "harrygoslowski7" appears. I click on their profile. I see the sigs: "Shoe Polish for only $2.99!" or "Heal thine bunyons" and I jettison them into the void. Often times, they'll get angry by this sudden disintegration of their efforts, and return the following day, disguised as "ericjhwgehjwgdhwvbdhw" or "ilovegaming". I eradicate them. Repeat.

    Installed the security patch. Maybe that was it. Didn't read much of what it does though. Will upgrade to RC 5 this weekend anyway and break it all again.
