Wakazashi the Ooze Hunter
Your Ultimate Source for all your Ooze Problems!
The Ooze Hunter?
Derrypepper Friendmoor, also know as Wakazashi the Ooze Hunter, is almost your typical gnome. Sure, he's crazy, but he's also short, olive-skinned, and a capable trickster. Add in an unusually large dash of bravery and cunning, and you have The Ooze Hunter. He wears a bandoleer carrying tons of seemingly normal spoons, and is usually seen with a much larger spoon, made of bone, hefted over his shoulder.
The Legend of Wakazashi
His humble beginnings:
He chose a hero's name, Wakazashi. That's what his father called the ancient sword upon their den wall.
He chose a hero's quest, to rid the Lower Bullocks of Willowpop Cave of the Gelatinous Ooze Infestation so that mining expansions could continue.
He chose a hero's weapons, spoons covered in a liquid antacid. Surely this would be able to harm the acidic oozes.
He also brought with him his namesake blade and every ounce of courage he could muster.
His success and fame:
Derrypepper Friendmoor is no more, he is now known as Wakazashi the Ooze Hunter. He rid the Lower Bullocks of it's oozy fiends, this earned him much fame among gnome-kin. But he quickly discovered he enjoyed the life of slime-fighting adventurer.
Now he wanders the world seeking out bigger and badder oozes to conquer.
Special Equipment
His bandoleer of spoons, his wakazashi blade, a assortment of liquid and powdered antacids in different dissolve able materials and his mighty Bone-Carved Ooze-Bane Spoon-Club.
He also carries a magical shell that allows him to communicate with family back at the Willowpop Caves.
Roleplaying Notes
He is pretty much the best source you're going to get when it comes to oozes. He has now spent much of his life observing what oozes do, he knows what oozes can dissolve what materials, he knows their patterns and their tell-tale nesting signs. He can also kill them quite effectively.
If you need to contact him, it is probably easiest and quickest to go to the Willowpop Caves and talk to his family. From there you can arrange a estimate on the problem and arrange for a meeting.

A quaint gnome for sure though I don't really see him as silly. I think he has practical uses in a fantasy world. As to the sub itself, I think it's fine as it currently stands- nothing I can suggest to improve it.
Ok minor character Pieh. Silly and short is not my cup of tea, but I see what your aiming for and considered it as I voted.
Cheers

I am not a big fan of gnomes, and other odd races that come from generic adventure fantasy. I see the character and understand what it is doing and why. Sure he is crazy, but then again you would have to be an ooze hunter.
The details are spartan, but enough.
Is an essay on Juiblex somewhere in the vatican? Why when a 7th level party is traveling through a 1st edition dungeon are they more likely to encounter a Black Pudding (5% chance) than any other single monster? I think here we have the answer. Because until now there was no answer to ooze, slimes and jellys? There is nothing which kills a game faster then trying to beat ochre jelly with a quarter staff. Or worse running from the cold breath of a black pudding. Thank you for dealing with this Pieh. This has been the skeleton in the closet of D&D for too long. (actually we would be okay with a skeleton, just look at how much stuff deals with the undead)
funny comment axle!
I like the idea of an "ooze expert". Rat problem? Call the pied piper. Ooze problem? Call Wakazashi. Makes me think of John Goodman's character in "Arachnophobia", only a pint-sized version.
Who you gonna call? Oozebusters!
I find the idea of a giant antacid spoon to be hilarious.
Well, someone does have to deal with the oozes of life. Who better than a spoon-wielding gnome? Like Mike and Moon, it doesn't strike me as a spectacular submission, but Wazakashi does serve his purpose enough, and that certainly counts for something.
Why do I get the vision of Phil the prince of heck? :)
I like him though, and can't really see anything I would add.
I wish this was less silly and had some more meat on it, because i really like the idea, as others have mentioned, of a spoon-wielding ooze-killing expert!
He's cute, but as others have mentioned, this is a tragically short post.
