Trick Bag
A small, ordinary looking red pouch that deters all but the most skilled thieves.
Codex introduction
A small, ordinary looking red pouch with plain drawstring.
At first look, or under the eye of a hurried thief, it would appear that there’s nothing special about it. But when opened, even by the owner, metal threads on the pouch’s drawstrings scratch against hidden metal plates in the cloth and emit a horrible, ear-peircing screech (like nails on a chalk board), almost instantly awaking or drawing the attention of the owner, most useful for detering theives or pickpocketers. This effect can also be magical, see below.
Magical Properties:
If you decide to make the pouch’s effect magical, then simply make it that when opened by the rightful owner, it does not screech.

Nice item. I can definitely see me using this one. There could be a mechanical reason for it not screeching when the owner opened it: maybe there's a knack, or even a key?
ephe!
It would be most interesting if it had a modified 'Magic Mouth' spell on it. Instead of merely reciting a preset message once, it could bellow a number of interesting and offensive speches.
Imagine the thief stealthily opening the ill-gotten purse, only for it to start shouting in his face 'BlackHeart! Crook! Swindler! Thief!' and so he beats a hasty retreat, perhaps with the purse, thinking it's done with it's effect, only to have it start up again. 'I'm over here! Call out the Gaurd! This way!'
An amusing scene and a great way to make thier lives more difficult.
I can use it and if I do, I will do so with Agar's modification.
Good job, its a great item and is probably very desirable so it could even change the way that thieves go about stealing things if it became popular. Maybe it could be inteligent as well so i knew how to get its new 'owner' in the most trouble or even attack the thief for the old owner and give directions to someone who finds it on how to get back to its not so worried owner. That might be overdoing it... but oh well. Good job.
I'd like one of these.
Simple. Useful. Quirky.
I like Ephe's mechanical suggestion.
