Battleleaf Armor

The Elves of Hielaepriaus grow plants for many different things, not the least of these is war.

Battleleaf Armor Bealaponidaeus Asasiundalor

The Elves of Hielaepriaus have a plant to mimick the properties of any human or dwarven material they have come in contact with. They have a giant flower with petals as clear as glass, they have a stocky shrub that tangles itself into a heap as strong as stone, and they have the Battleleaf. Battleleaf, or Bealaponidaeus, is a large green leaf, flecked with white, that can under the right circumstance become as strong as steel and just as sharp, if war is to be its purpose.

The leaf itself grows five to a stem on the Blade of the Ancestor, or Nitsundaeroethus Essandious, plant. The leaves are three feet across and and four feet long, with a distinct pear-shape and fine tip. The plant takes many moon-cycles to reach maturity, but once it does the leaves will last for a few generations.

Making the Armor The 'Hielaepriaus Seedontulies' Process

First, the leaves are harvested, which can be dangerous to the uninitiated, and that's the way the Elves like it. The leaves are very fine along the edges and can cause wounds similar to large paper-cuts if you aren't careful. This is especially important to note because the plant itself is always twisting at a steady pace, and will eventually change direction.

Once you have the leaves, you will need all five of a stem to make proper armor (If any of them get a taste of blood they will be ruined for the Seedontulies purpose, though not necesarily useless), you can begin to bond them to your body. You will need to carefully wrap them around you, one on each forearm, one for your chest, one for your back, and another for your head. The forearm leaves will eventually function as bladed weapons if donned correctly.

To finalize the process, you must meditate on the fluid grace of the ever-twisting Nitsundaeroethus Essandious plant for at least 8-hours while the harvested leaves collect the early-morning dew during the night of the new moon. After this mystical experienc the leaves will form a symbiotic relationship with your body. You will be required to drink twice as much water as is normal for your species, but will never be cut by the leaf even though it is as resistant and sharp as steel.

Now your armor is complete. A few elite elven warriors have tapped into the spirits of their armor to gain the grace of a leaf in the wind while retaining deadly precision with their forearm Battleleaf blades.

Additional Notes Blooded-Battleleaf

A leaf that has tasted the blood of any creature will instantly become as rigid as steel and hunger for more of that creatures blood. It makes an effective thrown weapon when rolled into a tube and treated with the foe's blood, creating a short spear-like weapon. After, it is easier to make attacks with it against that creature-type, be it Man, Elf, Wild Boar, or anything else.

Yeah to Pieh for breaking the hiatus!

A darn good idea with some interesting uses. Opened up plants for a ton of uses. Liked the part that it can't taste blood or it wouldn't be useful as a defensive plant. Great thought!

A nice little item/resource, and a plus just for this sentence:

'...it can be dangerous to the uninitiated, and that's the way the Elves like it'.

Speaks volumes about the race. :)

Good, practical item with an elven touch. I like that part about having to meditate on the fluid grace of the plant, which strikes me as a typically elven thing. I'm guessing that this plant derived armour is mostly invulnerable to fire?

It says that the leaves lasts for a couple generations. Does this mean that they eventually deteriorate? Also, wouldn't always having the armor attached to you make some things hard? I assume it wouldn't rust, but if it's stiff then it wouldn't be very comfortable to sleep in.

I like the idea and the actual items, especially the part about what happens if they get blood on them.

Considering the time and focus it takes to grow and prepare this armor, I imagine it only goes to the finest and most dedicated of warriors. Knowing this, I'm sure others give a healthy dose of respect to any elf they see wearing it.

Question: How does someone in this armor use the bathroom?

According to the description, it does not sound that legs or groin area are covered at all...
