Apocalypta and Eulegy

A vampire Blood Doll, her master, and the workshop they share

130 xp 3,609 views

Appearance
Pale and gaunt, Apocalypta is too much of a Blood Doll1 to be described as beautiful. As the long time feeder of a vampire and it’s plaything, it is only it’s potent blood that keeps her alive. She wears her hair long to cover the bite marks on her neck and shoulders. She also is partial to the mechanic’s jumpsuit, as the full body garment hides her gaunt figure and the bruises sometimes left after her vampire’s play time with her.

History/Background
The city of Gears has long been infested with vampires, it is considered an open secret. Only the most daft or spiritually blind can ignore the monsters that stalk the shadows of the factories and industrial plants. Apocalypta was born to a mother in the undercity where whores ply their trade for credits to buy clean water and untainted food, dressing in factory cast offs and office discards.

She sometime along her adolescence cast off her birth name, and took up the moniker of Apocalypta. She deeply and passionately hates the city of Gears and would love nothing more than to see it brought into destruction and ruin. This seething anger drew the attention of an elder vampire only known as Eulogy. This elder remembers when Gears was nothing more than a peasant village surrounded by farmland, wilderness and swamps. He too would like to see the city burn, but only to eliminate the flood of leeches2 that is making it harder and harder to be an unnoticed vampire.

While feeding from her, Eulogy has bolstered Apocalypta’s strength with the potency of his own black blood. As such she is as strong as a bodybuilder despite her waifish frame and much abused appearance. She struggles with a manic-depressive disorder. She will either work furiously with hammer and tongs, grinder and forge until she finishes a task or passes out from exhaustion. Alternately she will spend days moving only to eat, drink, and use the restroom. Eulogy tempers these swings be taking from her when she is boiling over, and giving back when she rests like the dead. He knows her mortal time is nearing an end, and hasn’t yet decided if he will make her into one of the damned, like himself.

Special Equipment
Apocalypta is a prolific builder. Her greatest creations so far are a variety of steam powered mechanical suits and bizarre weapons.

Daylight Iron-Suit - Fitted with red crystal eye lenses and black iron plate, this exo-suit is designed for a vampire to wear. There is no ventilation, and it requires great strength to use. The biggest advantage is that with the varying layers of material in the armor and the red crystal lenses, a vampire in the suit can move about unimpeded during the daytime.

Steam-Crusher - This massive hulk of a machine moves on a triple set of articulated treads. Groaning and hissing, it is able to crush through buildings and roll over smaller vehicles like the mutant offspring of a battle tank and a monster truck. The boiler uses industrial run-off as fuel so the exhaust from the engine is somewhat toxic, requiring Apocalypta to wear a gas mask and body suit when driving her beast.

Apocalypse Hulk - her latest juggernaut, the Hulk is massive and has both legs and caterpillar treads to move it. The hulk has multiple arms, some of which are specialized, such as a hydraulic crusher, a pneumatic battering ram, and an arm containing a jet nozzle and tanks of flammable material. She plans that the Hulk will be used for an attack on the heart of Gears and will destroy the Master Furnace.

Roleplaying Notes
Villains, Unite! - The City of Gears faces a massive challenge as Apocalypta and her iron colossi begin to rampage. With her undead allies, the overlooked and ignored lumpen rising, and riots breaking out, can the PCs stop the mechanical mastermind from breaking into the heart of Gears and destroying the vital central Furnace?

Heroes, Unite - Facing a moral bankrupt government only interested in the gears of industry being oiled, be it with blood, or oil, the PCs are contracted by Eulogy to help in Apocalyta’s plan of vengeance.

Steam Powered Horror - Always open to freelance, Apocalypta makes for a unique contact for steamwork projects. She can create small automata, large steam powered mechs, war machines, pretty much anything of a violent persuasion. Her prices are right, for the right people. for the wrong people, she is all booked up, sorry.

1 - A Blood Doll is a mortal who allows a vampire to feed from them regularly. This is usually detrimental to the mortal in question as invariably they suffer from poor health, anemia, and run the risk of being killed by their undead paramour. Some Vampires will allow their blood dolls to feed on their undead blood, giving them unnatural vigor and to survive longer than normal mortals would.

2 - Leech - derogatory term for a vampire

The Hall of Honour is your mark on a submission you believe is frick’n awesome — so good you would jump in front of a dragon’s breath to protect the scroll it is written on.

Bestowing HoH also highlights it on the front of the Citadel for about a day, so others see the recognition it earned.

You may bestow HoH on the same submission up to your level (with a short wait between strikes). Five distinct HoH voters raise a work to Golden.

Oh lord, vampire-punK. Blood dolls, "leeches", and Daylight Iron-suit!

    Quite unexpected, I must say.

I wonder what percentage of vampires have blood dolls?

That is a complex question. Blood Dolls vary from vampire to vampire, some believe that having a ready to tap supply of blood makes a vampire a weaker hunter, and it does happen that a vampire will gain an emotional attachment to one of his 'cattle' More social vampires will prefer ready to go meals rather than waste time stalking and hunting when there is a willing vein.

Somewhat narrow in focus, but a good sub none-the-less.
