What makes a weapon magic -- removed those freetexts since they are duplicating a quest of the same name. They had ? which probably screwed up the query.

Updated the submission page to allow viewing of ideas and comments while editing. Also gives a quick index link set for those that like doing the tables of contents for ideas.

    NEED A GUINEA PIG.

I updated the script for in work, advice requested, hidden, etc so that it will update date submitted when changed.....but I don't know if it works.

I don't think there will be any major crashes regardless, but would like proof of concept.

    LET ME KNOW PLEASE!

I took a sub which was in work public and moved it to regular status. It is not showing up in recent subs, only recent comments.

    Theocracy of Theos

I switched it back to in work.
  5. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

Thanks, I think I see what I did. Give it another go if you would.

    5xp for experimenting.
  6. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

Shoutbox. Took me 4 dang hours and a forum upgrade to get it to work.

You got it to work? I don't see it. Also: I can no longer access chat. Sorry, Boss, looks like you made it worse. :-P
  7. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

Thanks Pieh, try that. Updated permissions.
  8. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

Not sure if I did the Favorite formatting as you wanted but I did create a page where you can view all the favorite categories that people have made.

The link is under "Library" and is called, creatively enough, Favorite Lists.

Stole the boxes from the front so I didn't have to design a viewing format but will change that before too long.

I can only add to my most recently created Region, and none of the others, including my own.  Is this intentional?
  10. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

Tried chat with you Mr. Strolen - no worky. "You can't access the chat."

  11. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #331
Updated more chatty permissions. There are lots of menus to go through. :)
  12. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

I can only add to my most recently created Region, and none of the others, including my own.  Is this intentional?

Did you go to Regions and browse the one you wanted to add to before you started exploring for more additions?

Currently, you can only add to one region at a time and you have to "set" that region by viewing it in the Region's page. Once you click on the region you want to add stuff to, it sets a cookie that tracks that.

Great undocumented requirements eh? I really need to write a feature list and instructions for them.

    Woot to Shoutbox!

And woot to seeing comments while editing a sub!

The list of Favorites is also great, the formatting can be improved with time, but we finally have a reference point.

All good news! Let's use it!
  14. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

An HOH has broken the columns on the front page again.

Ooh, I thought it was the latest sw33t design! :p

Do not seem to see how to edit a Favorite once created - the intro text.
  17. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #337
I think I mentioned this before, but it seems to have gone unnoticed. We have lost the Spell check feature when adding/editing a submission, and for some odd reason my Firefox's spell checker doesn't work in those fields. Not too big of a deal, just something I noticed.
  18. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    Got this:

    A Database Error Occurred

    Error Number: 1064

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

    SELECT cond FROM lockmor_content WHERE content_id =

when trying to submit a sub, not sure if it's going to go through. I will keep trying. I wanted to post the error just as a note.

EDIT: Got it to post, http://strolen.com/viewing/The_Soli but had to restart the submitting process. It might have messed up when I tried to submit it without a summary, but I thought we fixed that. Ah well, it's posted now, I just need to fix the lines a little.
  19. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #339
The "METAL!" freetext needs to be fixed. I assume because of the "!" but just for fun, I tried it without the "!" and, well, try it: http://strolen.com/freetext/METAL

It sure is an interestingly messy page.

Issue with "View All" Submissions by Author. At least with mine. http://strolen.com/browse_author/Pieh works fine
when you click the link (the number 2 at the bottom) to go to the next page (or any after) it goes here: http://strolen.com/browse_author/Pieh/20 When it should go: http://strolen.com/browse_author/Pieh/2

it adds a 0 to the end. Needs to be fixed, since I do not have 20 pages of subs... yet...
  21. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #341
That is 20 posts, it works right? The next page would be 40...
  22. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #342
I think 20 tries to take me to the 20th page of 20 posts. Since using the link with 2 takes me to page 2.

All XP for this one should go to Dragonlordmax.

(22:18:24) Dragonlordmax: Is there a reason why the forum isn't working?
(00:23:14) valadaar: What part part is not working?
(01:27:49) Ancient_Gamer: Forum working splendidly for me!
(01:29:46) Dragonlordmax: None of it works. I click Quick->Forum and get nothing but a message saying "Unable to load the "shout_above" template.
(11:51:19) Ancient_Gamer: Which browser are you using? Have you disabled javascript?
(13:58:56) Dragonlordmax: I'm working with Firefox, and I have no idea how one would disable javascript.
(13:59:48) Dragonlordmax: Scratch that - javascript is currently enabled.
(22:16:13) Ancient_Gamer: Strolen: The forum not working with Firefox? Hmmm... Unable to load template... Weeeeeird!
  24. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #344
And it was a faulty template that was to blame
  25. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #345
when I try and look at my submissions after the 1st page I get

    Who? Huh? Where?

There is simply nothing to see here. Please disperse.

Part fixed, but when I try and sort my subbmissions by rating I still get

    o? Huh? Where?

I will have time this weekend finally! Hope to knock out these errors!

Hey, Strolen, I got a first time visitor's opinion of the homepage. I thought it would be useful to you, so here it is (from www.penandpapergames.com )

Crossroads_Wanderer: Well, I think it mainly needs more contrast and a little less text. Maybe simple links on the sides, with a feed of recent changes in the middle.

Crossroads_Wanderer: Basically, it looks like a lot of text when you first enter. It's a little overwhelming, and it doesn't feel all that organized.

Crossroads_Wanderer: I think maybe the main problem is that everything blends together. Everything is in varying shades of tan, and there is so much text that it all looks like a big conglomeration. If there was a little bit of color contrast and some simplification of the homepage, it would look less confusing.

    EXCELLENT!

    EXCELLENT!!!

Good as time as any to throw this out for a look. Obviously just experimenting. The top author info part his hideable upon click. All you will see is the lower name part unless you click on it, then it "opens."

    http://strolen.com/test/NewFrontpage.html

Just playing because I don't like the boring colors either. The colors on top and bottom can be used in the center part to add more contrast to sections.

Used this image as a color palette. http://www.cumbavac.org/images/MAstainedglasswindow.jpg

Wow, I think I kinda like that frontpage. Keep up the good work, Boss.
  31. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #351
Not having the GUI to allow for bold, etc, when entering comments is annoying. I really don`t want to go back to hand coding the tags if there is a GUI available :P
  32. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #352
Apparently you get promoted for subs that have not even been made public.
  33. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #353
Seriously, still can't figure out how to add anything to any of my codexes. Can't unlock them, can't add to them, Siren Smash. I think they're getting locked against everyone, instead of locked against everyone except the creator.

Showing the problem on http://strolen.com/viewing/3833 and on http://strolen.com/viewing/Oraki_-_A_New_Look_at_Robots
  34. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #354
Not really a bug, but the complete failure of regions to be documented, or indeed, usable is rage-inducing.

The magic cookie for adding submissions to regions is not currently carrying through navigation in any fashion: I lose the region when I click through to submissions that are not in the region. Using Google Chrome(Dev) / Firefox 3.5 on Ubuntu 9.4.

I have also been completely unable to find the machinery for making regions. Is this intentional, or just poor implementation?

    Siren smash.
  35. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #355
To my understanding, Region creation is either level-related or an Admin function.
  36. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #356
Will look at bugs Sunday. Siren, so you can't unlock it when you edit it? That is a problem. Either way, locked or unlocked, you should be able to add stuff. Will look at it.

The right side region listing is intended to disappear when you aren't viewing stuff already in that region. That is on purpose as I didn't really want that region menu sitting there on every single page. If we come up with a consensus that we want it all the time, I can do that....just didn't.

Yes, admins are the only ones that can create regions. If you have a region you want to start you have to let us know, tell us what freetext you are going to use to start it, and we will create it and give you admin rights to it to edit/add/etc.

  37. Re: 3.0 Bug Bounty Quest Bug Tracker

    #357
Can't unlock, can't add. Can we get some documentation on the regions, plz? :P

Should be fixed. Code degradation over time I suppose. See what happens when I stop messing with it!!!
