LOL ... that had me in tears ... I (or the collection) have been compared to a lot of things ... but never a piece of greenware with alfalfa growing on it :) -
Re: Dice Talk
#146Howe many dice do you have? How about in pounds? :P

Re: Dice Talk

Howe many dice do you have?
The current total is 28910 ... but that is just for today ... chances are ... tomorrow it will change
You can always see the current (or close) total on >
How about in pounds? :P
I never even considered weighing them ... as weight doesnt really have much meaning
For example ... the entire contents of the > container (upper right) ... click > to see the contents of the container
probably would not weigh as much as > -

Re: Dice Talk
#149I have a question you may be able to help me with, Kevin.
I recently decided to finally purchase a Chessex "Pound of Dice." Upon a quick google search I came across the following site: http://www.chessex.com/index.html and I'm not sure if it is legit/the best way to get a "Pound of Dice."
I actually ended up ordering this product from Amazon.com but I'm still curious about this odd Chessex site. The weirdest thing to me was the method of ordering dice. They expect you to copy/paste their order form into your email and send them your credit card info. Is this legit? Is this common?
Thanks. -
Re: Dice Talk
#150They are where I got all the Citadel custom dice from. You would think they could do the PayPal thing at least to make us "trust" them easier. But I had awesome customer service and it worked out.
I was uncomfortable as well, no encryption through email either which is bad but had no issues with it. -

...
Is this legit? Is this common?
Yes ... Chessex is probably the largest polyhedral manufacturer in the world (by # of dice sold) ... they are legit ... albeit a bit behind the times
If I were looking for pounds of dice I would check ebay ... as this is the safest and probably the least expensive option -
Re: Dice Talk
#152I got my Chessex Pound-O-Dice today and am quite satisfied. I got a very cool crystal clear d6 with gold number dots (and 8 of the exact same d20). I was wondering if you had collected the "special range of speckled dice" sets "only available in the Pound-O-Dice." There appears to be 6 different sets and I couldn't find any of them on the Chessex page of your website.
I just thought I'd make sure you had them (not that I have any right to advise you on your collection, I have about a mere 300 dice total). Happy hunting, Sir. -
Re: Dice Talk
#153Pieh
I am glad you like your pound of dice
Can you show me the crystal D6? ... I would be curious to see it
As to the speckled dice ... According to Chessed they aren't necessarily made in sets ... the manufacturer may make only D20 and D8's or they may make full sets ... it all depends on what they are making that day ...
The pounds of dice .. truly are random -
Re: Dice Talk
#154It's not really crystal, i was just using that to describe how clear it is. Here is a pic:
[img width=400 height=300]http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c273/TheMightyPieh/2010-01-27-53441.jpg
As to the speckled dice. That's interesting, since what I read said there was 1 complete set of special dice always shipped with each pound of dice. And the 6 colors shown on the insert I got are all of d10's. -
Re: Dice Talk
#155Ok ... thanks ... I was concerned that the die might have been one of the Crystal Caste crystal dice -
