How about if I just turn off my moniter for 5 minutes, would that work?  Please...

But on the contrary, if you are on the computer round the clock, and probably visiting the same sites over and over, they can get annoying.

And if you don't like them, why don't you... destroy them a little?

http://www.netdisaster.com/ - lets you destroy a random page. Of course I have tried it with the Citadel - try the forum index, for instance (sadly the main page won't let itself load into a frame). Some are good, some a bit strange; I liked the Demonstration most, try it. Also the Text Sucker was interesting.

Now go and find some page you actually don't like. :)

Not sure if it fits humorous, but didn't seem to fit in the other link thread either...so here it goes.

I haven't watched them all but I remember way back when they were still making them. Appears that they are done with the series too. I like flash animation.

    The Surrealist Compliment Generator
    http://www.madsci.org/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/~lynn/jardin/SCG

Troglodyte kidneys measure sardonic spasms not unlike the movements of an albatross buried in creosote.
You meander through love as a river delta contemplating levitation.
Your eyes flash upon my cathode ray flesh in a manner that propels my viscera into an eternal state of turgid flux.
Your skin emanates such a porcelain sheen that I am tempted to stamp WC under your bosom and across your armpits.
Your face is like an imperfectly shaven tennis ball.
You are as dazzling as a pregnant cow attired in electrical sockets.

    http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?cat=14

its a comic strip of Lord of the rings but from a D&D angle. Hilarious and too close to the heart strings of D&D for player and GM alike.

    A must read IMO.

Haha! Me and the gang still pull out the monstrous compendium every now and then to laugh our asses off. I actually think the Beholder is immensly stupid too.

The dirty laundry golem just killed me. "Orcs with panties on their face"! Hahahaha! I was afraid I'd die of heart failure during these rounds of laughter and tears.

And I am guilty of the mix two animals sin. I have a lizard-gorilla mix in the forums even! :D

Thanks for digging this up Ria. It is good to see that I ain't alone in thinking 50% of monstrous compendiums monsters are breathtakingly dumb.
  29. Re: Humorous Links

    #109
Oh, come now. Monsters are supposed to be scary, and part of that fear is knowing that, should you die, you're going to have to tell people,

"Yeah, Krog, Champion of the Thousand Wastes, got killed by an orc wearing a bunch of dirty socks."

Fear of humiliation can be just as effective as fear of mutilation; they just target different genres.

Edit: Not that I'm saying that I didn't find that very amusing.

A killer summary of the last year from Dave Barry:
    http://www.websitegrader.com/wsgid/567576/default.aspx

"But the biggest story in June, as well as the history of the universe, is the release of the Apple iPhone, which, in addition to enabling you to make phone calls, has all kinds of brilliant and innovative features, including AutoFondle, an application that enables the iPhone to fondle itself during those times when you are unable to fondle it manually because you're sleeping or undergoing surgery from wounds you sustained when friends or co-workers finally lost it and beat you senseless to make you shut up about your freaking iPhone already."
