Tact
The players are diplomats: ambassadors to a distant, unstable realm. The promise of security that came with King Addarron is suddenly shattered by his assassination. The ambassadors are caught up in the ensuing intrigue-riddled politics...
It was always going to be a risky assignment. There are always less stable areas of the world, and they don't get much less stable than L'ka. Located in the middle of the Ocadian desert, between Agrád, Belosc and Ihrin it has been the subject of continual conflict between the warring warlords for the last two centuries.
But things are starting to look up. The new King Addarron is bringing stability to the region, and the players are on a diplomatic mission to meet him and advise him on certain issues.
His assassination during their visit puts a different slant on things. There is an official investigation led by Addarron's vengeful son. The players can do a bit of investigation of their own...
Finally, they are accused of the assassination. Their trial is abrupt and biased with the obvious result. Incarceration and execution.
How best to escape this fate? Well there's always running away, over hundreds of miles of trackless desert. Or they could try to change the political situation and twist it to their advantage...

This is the beginning of a nice idea. I would be more apt to put a better vote on it should it be longer and more detailed.
Why is the King of Addarron wanting to bring peace to the region after all this instability? What has changed? What other issues are the region having? What would the son gain if he was the reason behind his fathers death?
Its always a great idea to have players accused of a crime they didn't commit. Especially if at least one of them is of the mind of running first to prove their innocence.
That should have been a 4/5 not a 3/5.
I myself find this to be a decent idea as of the moment. Were it to be fleshed out more, with more than just the basic idea of the plot, I'd be more apt to give it a better vote.
Not bad.
I like it too.
