If you follow the wide well traveled mountain road, you eventually find your way to Skyway. Nestled among the clouds, perched upon the mountain side, this tiny town is the key to many puzzles.

This little village is perched on the side of a mountain, just at the level where clouds float by. There is a good road leading upto this village, the kind one would expect for a major caravan route. Yet the road ends with Skyway. The locals live in the rarified air and cold making a living escorting others through the mountain passes and herding. It is odd that such a town exists here. The answer, of course, is in the past.

Long ago, when magic was much more plentiful, Skyway was an gatepoint for mystic trods to the SummerLands. It was the last mortal stop on a way to the Great Fey City of Avalon. It was one of the last. While that trod/ roadway has long since closed, hints of where the Fey touched this lands still remaim.

Many of the older buildings have a fey appearance to them. Their cornerstones have fey marks, enchanting them for strength, comfort, and good forture. To be honest, there are few new buildings. Since the town has been growing smaller, some buildings are abandoned.

Family heirlooms in these parts are all fey treasures handed down from the ages. There are more charm stones, glamor knots, enchanted fey silver swords and other tools, in this town than in most of the kingdom treasuries of the known world. There are magics here, some powerful, hidden away—waiting for someone with the skill to use them.

Someday, someone will need some of these tools to defend the mortal realm from some Enemy. And the Fey left them here as a parting gift.

The greatest gift they Fey gave was to the people. In this isolated place, Fey blood runs strong. Everyone here has the advantages of being part fey (half elven at the least), though they look perfectly normal. When people of Skyway wield magic, they do so with a control and a power that few can match. Even those who follow the path of sword or scroll, find the ability to cast cantrips or even spells quite easy.

Unknown to all but a few chroniclers, many of the heroes from the last centuries have been from Skyway, or parts nearby.

Thus this little sleepy village, perched in an odd place, is the world's greatest treasure.

Hall of Honour

for Skyway

The Hall of Honour is your mark on a submission you believe is frick’n awesome — so good you would jump in front of a dragon’s breath to protect the scroll it is written on.

Bestowing HoH also highlights it on the front of the Citadel for about a day, so others see the recognition it earned.

You may bestow HoH on the same submission up to your level (with a short wait between strikes). Five distinct HoH voters raise a work to Golden.

Look Folks... No Dragons, No Orbs, and it is not part of Arth. I am getting better.

Of course, I still giggle madly to myself and the voice in my head, but that is really just a nervous habit... really it is.

For some reason, I am really attached to this location. If I was going to run a straight fantasy game AND it wasn't set in Arth, I think I would have to build a world around this place... and have most of the PCs come from here.

This is not a directly related, but if I was going to put it into a world, it would be the

The World of the Azure District. That would include Skyships and Lyrans and The City of Caulderon.

I really need to finish more projects. (but there is so much to do..... he whines)

And you need to run more games.

This would do for light fare.
