Pouch of many (un) usefull things
A pouch that randomly generates (not very) usefull items
The pouch of many things can easily be worn attached to a belt and weighs a mere half pound. Normally one would consider storing about a fifth of a cubic feet. This pouch however is not the best place to store items, as there is but a small chance the item may be found again.
The pouch seems to mock the wearer and never to return what you hope for, though in some cases items do turn up that seem to be most practical or fun. No magic user will identify the true nature of its magic, but most adventurers will find out what the pouch is all about in just a few days.
Magical Properties:
The following items may be returned from the pouch: (roll a d20 to determine)
Random item stored by user. If none stored, roll again.
1d3 chocolate cookies
A masterwork sling bullet
A piece of white cloth (4*4 inch)
1d8 copper pieces
A small, fragile glass figure of a butterfly
A 20 ft length thread of wool (getting it out takes 1d4+1 rounds)
an apple
1d3 pine-apple cones
A handful of grain
1d3 chocolate cookies
Some cow-dung
A wooden spoon
A silver brooch worth 2 gp which disappears after 1d8 hours
A small bronze key
A wooden fork
A 10ft branch from a oak tree, including leaves
A gallon of water
A dinner knife (damage is 1d2-1, breaks on a critical hit)
DM's choice
The wearer will find the pouch is always empty if he or she tries to take something from the pouch while still in the possession of the last item created by the pouch. (Items stored in the pouch by the wearer are considered not to be created by the pouch.)
The pouch normally creates items out of thin air, but in some cases may turn up a item that was nearby. Needless to say that in this case some people may be inclined to believe the wearer of the pouch stole the item.
If any one else but the user tries to take something from the pouch, it always seems to be empty. When the pouch has grown fond of its owner, it will even remain empty if not worn by its owner.
The pouch will create no more then two items per hour and no more then a total of eight items per day, including items stored by the owner.

Very nice little item. Just a question: where did the item come from: was it the result of an enchantment gone wrong by an unqualified mage trying to create a bag of holding? Or is it a practical joke created by some naughty bard?
Actually, some of those items could be useful in certain situations.
I like this item. It's very true that some of these items could be useful in certain situations, but that can be changed. It gives me an idea for an item...
Somebody probably failed a die roll somewhere and you get this bag of wimsy.
Or the other possability is the number of chaotic wizards out there...
I would suggest a bigger chart through, since items inserted can be eventually returned and found.
The whole reason for the cration of this item is the lust for cookies one of my players has....
Her nick-name is 'cookiemonster'
The 'usefull' items are there on purpose, as her character used to use a sling to fight, that is why the masterwork sling bullets are in.
By the way, as I did not want to create a realy cursed item, all items that you put in should eventualy be found.
I think I'll start a thread for ideas for a d100 Bag of useless things. Everyone please feel free to come by and contribute.
I LOVE IT, I sure enough do... to give it a 4/5 (the storyline! UPDATE PLZ). Ah, I hope I'll get to see my players stealing this from Arkaharahn, the dragon, hoping that its something useful!
I find this item particularly useful due to the fact that my players are extremely treasure hungry. I swear, they could kill a spider and then be like 'Did it have any treasure? Weapons? Armor? Money?' They are like that with everthing. So I think a bag of endless useless (by my players' standards) items could be used to teach a valuable lesson. 5/5
Heh, much unlike a guy I played with once... He put down some adversary, and I explained: 'All that is left of him is but a hollow scream...' and he answered: 'Great! I pick up the scream. Now I got my own scream!'
Did anyone every make the larger list? I think someone should otherwise!
Very amusing but not very useful.Very funny though.
Love it, it's ironic, and can be used as a item, some of the items are somewhat useful, for tiny tasks...
I wonder how it was created,
Cute little idea. I agree with many of the above comments. Would love to see how this got created, agree that more items need to be added (and love the list that spun off this), and probably wouldn't find much use for it.

Another fun low powered magic item that may seem at first to be oh so much more. It promises to be a fun addition to my upcoming fantasy game, thanks for this!
I like this. I've got a traveling cart in my game (the 'Something Weird' vendor) which does pretty much the same thing. Hrm, I ought to write it up.
