Mnemnon Spire

A sword that learns and teaches, forever singing of past and present.

60 xp 6,604 views

Once created by a coven of elven wizards, the intent behind the blade and its eleven brethren was the ennoblement and improvement of humanity, a way for knowledge and experience to survive the short human lives that are but a flicker of a candle on the black velvet of creation.

With time, the blades have become more - an eversounding resonating testimony to inner strength, resolve and defiance of the otherwise frail human soul.

Each closely bonded to a worthy bearer, it will sing of the past lives of the SwordSaint weilding it before, and the owner may add songs of his own...

When the owner grows older, he will seek a worthy successor, and hand him the blade, making thus the greatest sacrifice of all, for when he gives up the blade, he will fall to the ground dead, his soul absorbed by the cold steel he swung, and his voice added to the choir within. Should he fall in battle, the sword will do likewise.
Each sword will have a distinct 'style', depending on its former owners...it is possible for one of the blades to be corrupted by a series of bad users, but it is unlikely, for those allready within will make even holding the hilt unbearable for a wicked person, as a hundred voices scream in rage and disgust. If one were to eradicate the resident souls somehow, and THEN hand the sword to a series of bad users ...

Magical Properties:

1, the blade was forged by a true master, and thus is truly timeless, ever-keen and rust-free. Only extreme forces can bring one of the blades to break.

2, It has both excellent offensive and defensive properties, adding to hit, damage and defense.

3, the souls within can offer advice on skills, history and most of all swordsmanship (the owner will soon become proficient with it, if he wasn't before!). If one of the souls happens to have been a mage, he may help with a spell or two, while more exceptional souls may confer a special ability (innate spells, magic resistance, astral vision)
Each sword is different.

The Hall of Honour is your mark on a submission you believe is frick’n awesome — so good you would jump in front of a dragon’s breath to protect the scroll it is written on.

Bestowing HoH also highlights it on the front of the Citadel for about a day, so others see the recognition it earned.

You may bestow HoH on the same submission up to your level (with a short wait between strikes). Five distinct HoH voters raise a work to Golden.

This is an item that can be used in a game. It is the sort of item you need to make center stage in a campaign.

Two thumbs and a tail up.

Does it sing all the time? What if it has to be *gagged* with cloth during ambushes or when the wearer wants to sleep? 4/5

See it rather as a choir that you hear inside your head - only the user communicates aloud when he's adding new 'songs' ... 'Dear diary ... eh, sword, today, I learnt that it is nice to share...' etcetera.

While there might be far mightier swords than a Mnemnon Blade, this has the andvantage of aiding the user on more than the field of battle.

This is a page meant to make information available to a wide audience, and, regrettably, that won't happen if we use Slovak, a language spoken by ten millions of people at most.

So please, you may speak to me in Slovak in privacy, using a Private Message.

As for the comment itself - I will not make plagiates of another's work.
