Maris is a thief. A common, low down, swarmy thief. It's not her fault she's that way, though. She's nice, has a sweet personality, and is most likely to talk a person into giving 'the poor, suffering little me' their money, due to her limited skills as a pickpoket. What she is skilled at, however, is very, very strange for a theif. She likes reading, and has collected many old manuscripts, and is sometimes saught out for just knowledge.

Special Equipment:

Maris doesn't have a habit of carrying items around, due to her fear of them being stolen from her. As most of her manuscripts are precious, she locks them at home, and the only key is in a place none but she knows.

Appearance:

The first thing that stands out when one looks at Maris is her hair. It's a light yellow, almost white, and strange compared to her dark, sun browned skin. Her hair is long, and it falls down to her waist. Usually it's unkempt, and tied up messily at the back, but when it's really necessary, she would braid it for neatness.

Maris is twenty four, and it shows. Her moderately harrowing childhood has marked her face and bearing in a dozen ways and means.

Maris is usually smiling over the discovery of a new manuscript or a new gain in the transfer of ownership of an item. She likes playing with the city kids, and sometimes teaches them a little of reading and writing as part of play.

Background:

No one knows exactly who Maris's real father is. Her pale hair is unusual for those parts, and her eyes, a shade of blue almost matching the sky are extremely unusual, both these are features of northeners.

However, Maris's mother, on the other hand, is fairly well known. So well known, in fact, that her mother associates with the upper society on a regular basis.

In fact, Maris's mother is a whore. The only reason that Maris isn't is as Maris appeared to have considerable skill with unlocking various things, and an obvious love of money.

Roleplaying Notes:

For plots, characters in search of information could go to Maris, but might have to bribe her. Maris is very, very close to her manuscripts, and prides herself on them. On the other hand, Maris could send characters to retrive things for her for a reward.

Regarding Maris's father, it is possible that a character could sent a PC to search for her as well.

Rare mark

Hall of Honour

for Maris

The Hall of Honour is your mark on a submission you believe is frick’n awesome — so good you would jump in front of a dragon’s breath to protect the scroll it is written on.

Bestowing HoH also highlights it on the front of the Citadel for about a day, so others see the recognition it earned.

You may bestow HoH on the same submission up to your level (with a short wait between strikes). Five distinct HoH voters raise a work to Golden.

    Hmmm...

It's a good start, but there's not enough detail.

Sweet!!! this caracter's roleplaying ability means that you can only get valuble info if you have a decent item, very interesting. keep up the good work.

Definately a good start and I already like the character.

Fear of being stole from her? She is a thief. The safest place for things would be in her control I would think. And a key wouldn't be good enough if she is that paranoid. Needs a story behind it, stuff stolen in the past and such. There would probably and elaborate cache of her most valued possessions too since she loves the manuscripts. (Probably my pettiness but I like these kind of details about characters)

The rest is pretty good, I am probably picky because I like the character and want to know more. Got me hooked, now reel me in.

There is a start here - good bones but needs more flesh. She is interesting.

A few typos too, including in the summary.
