Kierske

A man in plate armor approaches, but you see no face, for the chilling mist seeping from every joint in the armor obscures the view.

Full Item Description
This opal set of fullplate, is freezing cold to the touch. In the armors chest sits a pale blue stone glowing with a single silver rune of power. Upon donning the armor the chill goes away.

History
Long ago a young noble gained possesion of four great stones of elemental power. He dedicated his life to the study and use of these stones. He created many magical items with which to apply the stones power to, and this was one of them. In his mind he saw the ice stone creating an impenetrable barrier, so he forged a set of milk white armor from the purest opals. He endowed the power of the ice sigil upon this suit of armor and with it all the power of cold. This armor is part of the Sigils collection. It has been called the Glacier Mail for good reasons.

Magic/Cursed Properties
This suit of armor has been blessed with the power of elemental cold so naturally the armor is freezing cold to the touch. The wearer is immune to this cold and the temperature inside the armor stays at a comfortable temperature at all times. On the outside the armor is quite literally freezing cold, this has the benefits of: slowly cooling the immediate area slowly, and freezing liquids with lower freezing points upon contact. Thus the wearer could hypothetically walk on water, now that has never been proven and it is not wise to enter deep water wearing heavy armor. In addition, in extremely cold environments the armor absorbs the cold and after a short while can fire a frost ray in quick concentrated bursts. Anyone trying to get ahold of someone wearing this armor will be very sorry when they walk away with horrid frostbite, or freezer burn.

The Hall of Honour is your mark on a submission you believe is frick’n awesome — so good you would jump in front of a dragon’s breath to protect the scroll it is written on.

Bestowing HoH also highlights it on the front of the Citadel for about a day, so others see the recognition it earned.

You may bestow HoH on the same submission up to your level (with a short wait between strikes). Five distinct HoH voters raise a work to Golden.

Useful in hot areas as well. 4/5

    Why is it called Kierske?

Even the freezing of water, I think, will not be quick enough to support a person walking. One danger is breaking through a thin crust, the other is in not waiting until a sufficient area has frozen over - it could easily tilt and deposit the wearer in water. And once inside, getting buried in ice alive is not a very good prospect.

It is a potent armor with a serious downside - just as it should be. :)

A little short, a misplaced comma or two, and I suggest a couple of apostrophes to indicate possession (armor's chest, the stones' power).

Other than that, pretty much what manfred said. Good job Spirit!

I don't think the wearer _should_ be comfortable. Alive, yes. Uninjured, yes, but they should feel the chill in their bones and hate every minute inside this freezing shell.

As for creating ice bridges, having played Mario Galaxy and watched Frozen, I think it should be powerful enough to freeze water fast enough to cross still waters, but falling into the water should run the risk of becoming entombed in the ice.

A decent item. I like it.
