As traps, obviously there are the standard protection glyphs which engulf you in fire or freeze you when you try to open locks. And then there are the non-standard ones...
Hand-melt: As your hand nears the lock it goes limp and sags, the closer you reach, the more fluid and droopy your hand becomes. At very close range, globules of flesh start dripping onto the floor where they slowly solidify back into fingers and knuckles.
Animated mechanism: You insert the key in the lock, when you hear a crunching noise. You look down. You're holding a key-hilt, and the lock is grinning back at you with an array of evil-looking teeth. Thank goodness you didn't try to get close and pick that lock...
Chinese finger trap: The glyph's magic keeps you held tightly (even tighter if you try and pull away) which is not good if you can hear approaching footsteps. Amputation is often the best way...

Very useful. They could be put on the walls of tombs to deal with robbers.
Interesting ideas - more original than most standard traps. Perhaps you could add a few more?
3 good ideas. short but good for the trap section i think.
Definately add some more - these ones are quite good!
The 3 presented are good. The first one is creepy good! Boy, we sure could use another two dozen or so of these non-standard glyphs! :)
Always looking for gallows humor in dangerous traps - great!
