A dark emperors gloves that make an excelent weapon and torture tool.
In days long forgotten. a king came to power by the name calvin sreat. He believed in ruling with an iron fist. The people of the land feared him for his merciless ways, they started to refere to him as the dark lord. His soldures were trained with extream dicipline, and they people lived hard lives. As can be expected, some of the people started to rebell. He realised that in order to maintain his rule, he had to give consiquenses so severe, that the people wouldnt dream of rebelling. He began to expiriment with dark magics. He finally made an item that would suit his goal. It was a pair of studded leather gloves, black as the night. He put captured rebels in a single room. Then, using the energy within the gloves, he would release a gas sphere that covered all light. The gas stayed in a sphere form, so it was contollable. They gas was a toxin that was both inhaled, and absorbed through the pores. It cut of all circulation, choking the victim. It also caused the victems skin to burn, the freeze, then burn again the cycle compleating. What made this magic even crueler was that it contained a little bit of oxygen. prolonging the victims life. This went on for about five minutes. by the second, the victems were begging for death. This proceedure greatly moved one of darklords knights. He sliced of dark lords head, and burried the gloves to that no one would have to suffer its cruelty.
Magical Properties:
Character will be able to cast the spell of darkness, dealing as much damage, effecting as large a area, and used as much as the DM sees fit. (If a victem survives they are cursed with a diseas sinilar to asma).

An interestesting item, with enough back story to give it some versimiltude. A pity it is marred by poor spelling and bad punctuation/ capitalization. Can I recomend a spell checker, www.iespell.com
Um it's kinda munchkin and not that good.
Could be good with a LOT more work.
