CRTF: Session 3

Interrogating the suspects doesn't go as planned.

90 xp 2,062 views

The Players:

Roy: Playing a child-like angel who was assigned to the CRTF. Speaks in third person, is innately curious about everything, and seems extremely naive. Has a strong preference for shotguns. None of the other players are aware that she's an angel, although they're definitely aware she's not normal. (Reva)

Chi: Playing a sarcastic and slightly arrogant martial artist. Gets along well with Kate. (Anise)

Kim: Playing a career criminal, who hacked into the CRTF network and was forced to join the task force as a result. Is also highly sarcastic and arrogant. Is only passable in combat. (Kate)

Zed: Playing a hardened cop who is extremely serious at all times. The most 'straight' character of the bunch, as well as the moral core (from what I can see thus far). Showed signs of his coitophobia when the other players where bantering about Aemilius being an escort/prostitute. (Lennard)

Moh: Playing the face of the group. Lecherous wine fanatic who was brought on to help the group infiltrate the various cults. (Aemilius)

Nick: Playing a veteran cop with a rough edge. Still new to the party, so I'll have more info later.

_______

Important Plot Events:

Players conducted two interrogations, on Jamar and Ryan. They didn't go smoothly because the PCs weren't in the right mindset for getting useful information out of them. (Questions like "Who is the cult leader?" or "Where do you guys meet?" only came up after Kyle gave them a strong headstart into interrogating Ryan.)

The duffle was stated to contain a knife, a bloody robe, a few chunks of human meat (from a Corpael Etasen member) and a voice memo device. Players were introduced to the very beginning of Romero Coultier's story.

The players learned that the Corpael Etasen lacks a traditional meeting place, but coordinate meetings through the member's cell phones. They're going to attempt to crash the next meeting (said meeting is a trap).

Aemilius heard a report of a body being stolen from a morgue during his normal current affairs news reading. (Coultier escaping from the morgue.) His check for business news was a critical failure- the sale of an abanndoned building to the Etasen, which will become their new headquarters in the next few weeks, was not revealed to him.

Kate was approached by Holly, who wants her to look into the records the FBI created about the traffic stop conducted on Kyle- she believes someone in the FBI is a double agent.

________

Commentary:

Kyle is proving to be a fun NPC. He pulled his gun on Kate at one point in frustration over how she tried to interrogate Ryan. The poor guy has been shot, ticketed by the FBI, and is in charge of a misfit team of very strange people. He's starting to become very fleshed out.

Nick, the newest player to join, fit in really well with the others. His character should help keep the campaign grounded along with Lennard since both are being played as straight cops.

______

Next Session:

I did not get to introduce Father Michaels as planned. This will happen soon, probably directly related to the Etasen.

The antagonistic FBI agents need to be introduced as well.

Two more interrogations are possible.

Potentially the trap at the next Corpael Etasen 'meeting'.

_______

Final thoughts.

This session bogged down due to a lot of dialogue and the text format. I might start splitting up the party to keep everyone doing something productive instead of waiting for one person to lead a conversation. I also plan on doing a better write-up of the PCs next time I do one of these summaries (this session was so sparse I just don't have the effort in me).

Rare mark

Hall of Honour

for CRTF: Session 3

The Hall of Honour is your mark on a submission you believe is frick’n awesome — so good you would jump in front of a dragon’s breath to protect the scroll it is written on.

Bestowing HoH also highlights it on the front of the Citadel for about a day, so others see the recognition it earned.

You may bestow HoH on the same submission up to your level (with a short wait between strikes). Five distinct HoH voters raise a work to Golden.
