Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#241Mappy Poo.
Way too bright. Will try to falloutasize it at some point.

Mostly 1 story save for the bottom right corner which is the gymnasium. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#242Update 2.0
Internet being installed on the 10th Nov. Laptop will now be acquired on the 1st/2nd.
Apologies for the delays. Money never stretches as far as one thinks it might. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#243There is a battered control panel on the wall nearby the door. Lots of buttons and a big keyhole. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#244Dr. Caesar. Dr. Caesar. Paging Dr. Caesar....
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#245Sorry guys. Things (hint: :cthulhu:) got in my way.
Wasn't quite sure if the door was open. Natural 20 says it is, but I wouldn't put anything past schoolteachers. They're crafty devils with lots of secrets that require high tech locks to guard.
Oh and by the way- its Lord Caesar, or Dictator Caesar, or maybe even Consul Caesar. I ain't no pathetic medicus. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#246Door is not open yet. There is a control panel beckoning to be messed with. Hopefully not booby trapped... -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#247Just what exactly are we supposed to do val? Even if the code consists of a 1 and a 7, it could be 17, it could be 71, it could be 771 or 17177 or countless other variations. We don't know how long the sequence is, we don't know how many tries we get or if too many wrong tries will lock it down, and even if it won't lock down, depending on the length of the sequence we could be there forever without managing to guess it, and not like we've seen many clues either, unless it was written on a urinal puck. You wanted us to check out your dungeon, now let us in dammit! :P -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#248never underestimate the ol' clue-on-the-bottom-of-a-urinal puck trick! :twocents: -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#249Um, go check out the old post - pretty close to the last one in The Gathering.... And yes, there may be consequences for a wrong guess.
The flickering torch revealed some pertinent details of the room.
Rectangular, 30'x10, with the doorway centered on the long dimension. Shelves on either side with boxes and many large plastic containers. Brooms and mops on one side, card-board boxes filled with glass tubes on the other.
The robot's blade appeared to be some sort of multitool. The other arms included cleaning heads and manipulator arms.
There was another door - much different then the one they entered - at the narrow end of the rightmost side of the room. It was a massive metal door, circular in nature with a hinge recessed into the floor. Some sort of control panel was mounted to the wall nearby. The centre of the door had the numbers '117' prominently emblazoned on them.

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#250Just a reminder Val since you're posting for Kassy's character, is she down here in the basement with us? (I assumed yes in my posts) -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#251Yes, she is with you. I'll be posting tonight.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#252Will post whatcha find tonight.

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#253I'll take 30 of the 7.62 Nato ammo, and since I appear to have the highest heal skill, I guess I'll take at least half of the trauma packs and stuff too, okie day?
So that's
30 Rifle Ammo
1 Pill Bottle
1 Stimpack
6 Needles
And an undefined number of trauma packs. So... 2? 4 maybe? Half of X
That I'll be taking(patent pending).
Furthermore, I did say I'll use the crowbar if the keys didn't work, so did the crowbar work?
And Thirdly, do we know what today's date is?
(Highlighted for your convenience) -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#254I plan to take 1/2 the .9mm ammo then the other half of the trauma packs and whatever else our two companions don't need. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#255I like to give space for others to comment if possible. I think other might have skills that apply as well. Asha found the corpse about the same time you finished running through your keys. You can start prying away while she starts searching.
3 Trauma packs.
June 25, 2193 as near as you can reckon, though it seems every timestamp in this room is off by 2 months and a bit. It is currently about 10am, and the current timestamps on what screens that show them are for 2 months earlier and 6 hours ahead.
Post upcoming on the concurrent looting and prying.

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#256Should we treat outside of combat as combat as well? Like one action that requires your full focus = 1 standard action, and only one per post, then wait for others?
I thought we were just looting, so I just wanted it done with so we could explore, but I guess we ARE technically already exploring. :P
Okay, I'll take 1 Trauma pack, and roll you for another one Sil? Beat (15) unmodified.
---------------------------------
That time stamp stuff isn't saying me anything... Except maybe that whoever did maintenance on it is long dead? For the thing to be so way off, that would suggest a lack of maintenence in itself. Since we didn't use any IDs, it would be likely that we would have triggered an alert, which seems consistent with the second latest entry.
Datestamp Event ID
2193.04.24.16.14.45 *ALERT* NA
2193.04.24.16.11.45 *ALERT* NA
2193.04.23.12.11.45 Egress 87012 a
2193.04.20.12.1¢.45 *ALERT* NA
2193.03.11.23.00.00 Ingress 87012 a
2193.03.23.28.11.45 Egressssssss 87010 b
2193.02.15.22.01.05 Ingress 45611 c
2193.02.20.16.11.45 Egress 87010 b
2193.02.21.╔0.11.45 Egress 45611 d
2193.01.12.21.00.00 Ingress 86112 e
2184.07.23.11.11.45 Egress 45611 d
2181.05.11.22.00.00 Ingress 86112 e
However that was 2 hours ago, either we spent a really long time punching in the numbers on that door EDIT: val said it didn't take that long, or the alert could be for someone else entering or possibly leaving without an ID, or trying to do something else unsupported 2 hours prior to our arrival. Egress means somebody left and Ingress that someone arrived, so they've been coming and going, but not very frequently. 4 Days ago there was another alert, which could possibly be consistent with us killing the janitor-droid maybe?
5 Times the door has let someone out, but only 4 entrances, which could also suggest that they're still out there, or maybe that it was the robo-dog.
As for the IDs, I labeled them from a to e, and it seems bogey c is the only inconsistent one that only entered, but never left again, I would say outsider, but since it has an ID code... Hmm, thoughts?
EDIT 2: Seems I made a mistake, I mistook minutes for hours.
Also, whooo! :D -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#257Caesar - you going to post? Your character might be able to contribute here beyond finding something to whack.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#258Sorry, I just got hit by a snow storm. Joy. Anyway, I lost power (aka, internet connection) for a while. Once the forces that be decided to gift me with electricity (finally), my router decided to start being stupid as well, and not provide me with the internet. So I'll work on getting that sorted out, and in the meantime, I'll provide you with a post, albeit brief. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#259Oh and, could I read what the ID card and the pill bottles say as well now please. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#260Since we're using (in part at least) lit torches in an enclosed space I figured these torch videos might prove pertinent.

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#261If I can see the zombie, I'm shooting it. What's the armory anyways, is that the locker room we're in? -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#262Unless you stick your head into the hallway, you can't see him. Asha is using a mirror right now.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#263The Vest will fit, though you will need to really adjust its straps to fit. Its built for a full sized male soldier.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#264Something occurred to me today, what class is Ayna supposed to be? I get Marcus is a barbarian, Asha a thief/rogue and Carnegie a ranger, so is Ayna a fighter? Or? -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#265Fighter. Her sheet is in her thread. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#266
Fighter. Her sheet is in her thread.
Yep I've seen the sheet, it just doesn't list her class anywhere on it, which is why I asked. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#267Right! Sorry about that. I see the d10 hd and my brain just makes the substitution.
I'll fix it.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#268Is there anything to hide behind or anywhere nearby to run to? I won't take the shot since they're seemingly human. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#269Yes, the square room is about 20x20 and the hallway enters the middle of one west wall. The East wall has the 3 doors, north and south walls are featureless.
Your visitors are 30' away (or less) if you are still in the hallway, or longer if you are in the elevator room.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#270What kind of doors? Are they all futurey airlock type things or could I kick one in? Or maybe that they open when you go near them like a supermarket sliding door. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#271Two flanking doors are solid metal or metal sheathed.Middle pair are sliding elevator doors.
Asha is right near one.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#272To clarify, Elvis - well this Elvis - is not dead, but dying. Death occurs at -Con, or -15, so there is time for medical treatment.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#273Yeah that'll be my next action. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#274And yes, your drag is successful and unopposed - you still had an action left since you didn't fire.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#275The sooner you help us kill these goons the sooner we can help heal your pup btw ;) -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#276That wouldn't be keeping to character. She's a hunter, she's never killed a human and isn't planning on ever doing so. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#277Round 2 folks. Asha has declared and rolled init. Need Anya and Carnegie's Init rolls. Carnegie is doing first aid or equivalent on Elvis.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#278(5) +6 total of 11. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#279Since I'm taking over Ayna for Kassy for the time being, I should ask for the sake of roleplaying consistency, does Ayna know of Carnegie's vow never to kill another human? If so. what's Ayna's already established opinion of it? -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#280I'm not one for major party conflict, so I'd say Carenegie's relgious sensibilities were relatively well known. That she would not take arms against the occasional Raider foray probably would have revealed itself.
Asha, as very much a newcomer, would not have such knowledge.
