Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#361I feel like this is a take charge moment, and that's not Carny's thing. So either Sil or LW then. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#362I am going to Try and get a map out tonight. Please note that the open areas have all been checked for clear and present danger already - you can search the rooms in detail (entrance, armory, broom closet, cafeteria and off rooms, and the elevator room) or open one of the various doorways or elevators.

I am going to Try and get a map out tonight.
Lovely, a map will make it much easier to plan strategically and don't worry too much on appearance, whatever you whip up in MS paint or whatever will be fine by me, assuming we do manage to save the inhabitants and turn it into an actual stronghold of sorts for the town we can worry about a more shiny map. (Also it was suggested earlier about us potentially using the ventilation ducts to move about and avoid patrols and the like if they're large enough for us to fit into, so noting any vent duct access points on the map might be helpful?) -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#364Vents are small (< 18") and well secured. No easy highways for you! :P

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#365I have a question. Will the cantrip Mending fix the condition of a weapon or item (e.g. condition 3 repaired to condition 2 with a single casting. each subsequent casting reducing the condition number until the item is back to factory spec)
Mending
Transmutation cantrip
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M (two lodestones)
Duration: Instantaneous
This spell repairs a single break or tear in an object you touch, such as a broken chain link, two halves of a broken key, a torn cloak, or a leaking wineskin. As long as the break or tear is no larger than 1 foot in any dimension, you mend it, leaving no trace of the former damage.
This spell can physically repair a magic item or construct, but the spell can’t restore magic to such an object. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#366There is no magic in this setting Tusserk.

Heads up, auto-pilot Carny till I get back, please val.

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#367I opened the door, slightly, to some. Check out the follower of dead religions background. He has a small chance to succeed, if not observed by non-belivers. Cantrips only, once per day.
Ideally no one will beive him when he says its his faith at work. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#368I'm going to limit the spell to removing the need for 1 point of spare parts on the repair, as the spell only mends a single break. Moving from Condition 4 to 3 takes 4 spare parts so you would only need 3 parts - or take 3 successful castings - to fix.
"Condition can be restored with appropriate spare parts and tools. You need to spend as many spare parts as the condition number being restored, which will decrease the Condition by 1 point."
As a result, your spell is best used moving Condition 2 to Condition 1.
Condition 0 (or below) items are special cases - they represent very high quality manufactured goods that require either a special perk or specialized equipment (i.e. a CNC machine, molecular assembler, etc) which is nearly impossible to find. Those items do not gain Condition points on critical failure - only if directly damaged or abused.

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#369ooo so my condition 5, semiautomatic pistols are only sliiightly worthless :D
Time to start scrounging -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#370Answering here. If you reduce an enemies HP to 0 with a melee attack, you can choose to knock the creature out. They stop at 0 hp and are stable.

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#371Back. Hey uhm val, the fact that I went through the trouble to take out one camera outside the door, would kinda suggest that I would take this other camera out too, unless we had already been spotted or something, and even then might as well. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#372This camera is high up and is well situated - you can take it out, but will be fully imaged while doing so. Behind it is the wall.
You could take a shot at it if you would like, unless there is something else you can throw at it you may be carrying.
This - or any other action with the camera can happen before Asha approaches closely.

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#373Okay, I step out quickly and shoot it with my glock then I guess. Rolled a 12. -

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#377which room are we in on the map? The only indicators I am seeing in the posts are 'the big door' which does me no good since I have not read everything that occurred before I started -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#378The leftmost room - which I need to add some doors to.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#379Since the next part involves Carnegie assembling her jammer are we holding off until Goss returns in 2 days, or do we continue in her absence? (Just asking before I post.) -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#380I think waiting 2 days for Carnegie is good. Where is Silv? -

Works for me, and Jenny's been busy with some new writing/game design gig for the X3 video game series she got head hunted for, I'll give her a nudge to drop by and let everyone know she's still in the land of the living. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#382Well, wish her the best in any case. That rocks!
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#383That sounds awesome! Best of luck to you Sil. :o
-
So, do I have enough to get started on the jammer yet? Or do I still need blueprints or whatever. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#384Did we fall into hiatus? -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#385the doors on the north and south side of the room... do they open like star trek, star wars spiraling open, swing in or swing out? -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#386Did we fall into hiatus?
I have been waiting for Carnegie to build her Jammer (if she has the parts) and Creed's input on how our group proceed next before posting again, that's all. :)
(Also in your most recent post I assume your references to Asha were meant to be references to Ayna given Asha never entered the room and is on look out while the rest of us do our thing?) -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#387Okay, though building the jammer - really a focused pulse device, since building a more sophisticated devices would need several hail-mary rolls to succeed, is not something to be accomplished under flashlight, especially since you are not modifying a similarly functional device. Something as simple (!) as a cell phone, walkie talkie or even the magnatron from a microwave oven would do nicely.
The Doors have no visible hinges, and did not automatically open at your approach. Best guess from the structure of the doors are that they might slide to the side.

Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#388I've been thinking. On the one hand I think that LW's idea is great, however, we've got our GM saying that I need this and I need that, and to top it all off, it'll take at least a whole day to put it together. Now, do we have a day? The ventilation system has been shut down. In an airtight bunker, that might very well mean that we're on the clock right now, not to mention any enslaved humans on the lower levels. The big bad isn't likely to be on this very floor at least, but is it at all feasible to make this thing and use it against it? I mean it's basicly an off-switch for every enslaved chiphead we meet, might even work on robots, so, I get why he doesn't want us to have it, at least not cheaply. :P
I guess, we're close to the cafeteria, so if there was a microwave around there somewhere... Otherwise, keep looting I guess? I would vote for cleaning out the first floor and then we'll see what we see. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#389Again, it depends on how selective you want the jammer to be. Getting an existing implant (check) will allow you to see of you can narrow the EMF spectrum you need to blast, reducing the chances of collateral damage and boosting the damage in the selected range.
Mechanically, it will be like a spell with a saving throw against it's effects. You can choose if you want to make it an area effect, cone, touch or ranged touch device, with the save DC increasing as you make it more focused. This will also be impacted by whatever powersource you manage to hook it up with. Watch batteries - not so much. Fusion cell? Better have quality workmanship :P
Failure by a small amount will stun the victim. By a lot will fry the chip, with cascade effects from that you won't know until you try.

#390[img width=400 height=262]http://lifeh4cks.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Turn-Triple-A-Batteries-into-Double-As.jpg
What really kills me is once I get all this stuff, I'll most likely fail the craft checks anyways. I just know it. Could the DC be increased or decreased by taking less or more time? There's gotta be more electricians and specialists than just me in town. But in either case, I don't think we've got the time for another stop back to Kenebac, so, find a workshop in here then. And then it would just be me and my acursed rolls unfortunately... -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#391Yep :)
A good workshop will help (Advantage), and taking time or using good components will drop the DC. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#392I'm gonna assume I would be able to recognize a bomb? Or at least to suspect it being one. Could I scoop up Elvis and run in the same action? We're out of combat right? -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#393Yes, and yes - there are no active combatants unless someone goes berserk or something.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion

Yes, and yes - there are no active combatants unless someone goes berserk or something.
Now we don't have Marcus in the party I don't think that's a concern. :P -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#395Paging Sil. Postage required...
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#396Thanks, for some reason the main game wasn't sending me post notifications. :) -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#397Think you missed a part of my post there, LW. -
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#398Considering that _not_ exiting the room would have likely lead to a character exiting this realm of reality, I assumed that Anya followed Asha hightailing it.
But if Anya wishes to stay put, then I'll need a dexterity saving throw. The charge is not a small one.
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#399So, stick a fork in it, this thing is done?
-
Re: Therafter Out of Game Discussion
#400I've been waiting for Mr. Creed/ Tusserk to post, and was going to adjust Ayna's decision based on any warning he may shout about taking cover being insufficient, or are we proceeding without him?
