Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#41Awesome, thanks Strolen! I'll do some testing in a bit and let you know how it goes. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker

Bug Found!
In my profile, when I take a peek in Personal Workshop, I can see the header of my Collaboration Subs, but not the subs under that. I know that a sub entitled Alexandra Stacja should be in there (Kassy recently gave me collaboration powers on it), but I see it not. I can still access the sub, however, but I have to take the long way. Or the short way. An alternative way.
Anyways, Strolen, my thanks to you (or to whoever actually fixes it) in advance for squashing this bug beneath your heel.
Caught another logic error! I had it under another if statement that seemed to make sense at the time but, obviously, it turned out it wasn't. That sub you were looking for was an In Work Public Collab sub so it was under another check that I had to release from the grips of Cthulhu.
Good Call!! Fixed! -

You don't think Strolen actually dives in there and does this stuff himself do you??!!
I have 2 words for you caesar. Children and---wait, 6 words. Children. Factories. Abuse. Minimum wages. Kaa-li-maaa! -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#44I generally don't get my hands dirty with this. I do contract out to the lowest bidder and pay pennies per bug. I don't ask questions.

Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#45http://strolen.com/browsing/system/AgricultureHusbandry -- Just shows all recent subs. I know that there is at least *one* System/Agriculture, so this list should still be populated. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#46You are right, it is a bad link in the menu!!
Wow.

Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#47Yeah, that's how I knew there was at least one :P Made it for the "Upset Barbarian Horde is Greatly Upset" thread. http://strolen.com/guild/index.php/topic,5953.msg74102.html#msg74102 -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#48As a side note, if the links are only going to show the currently released subs, perhaps the little numbers next to the names shouldn't include any private subs (at least, that's what I assume is happening here):
http://strolen.com/browsing/system/CriminalEspionage/
List on the right says there should be one sub in this category, but the Barbarian Horde is still upset! -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#49Actually, there are none in the database for that so I am not sure why it is showing 1. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#50I take that back, there it is. Good, that is easier to troubleshoot! -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#51Found it, will not be fixed for a little bit. It is a increment bug which has much logic associated when you input a submission. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#52I don't think this is a bug, more like a mistake, but here it is: in my profile, under the top subs, in the table for my most commented subs it has the number of comments listed as '# HoHs' -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#53Copy paste error, yeppers! Gracie! -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#54Lots of XP updates over the past week. See the first post. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#55This is similar to sth that Val had found and reported earlier. If you browse anyone's subs, the following blocks of errors would be attached to any of the Quest subs, whether they are submitted on time or are late additions.
A PHP Error was encountered
Severity: Notice
Message: Undefined property: stdClass::$quest_win
Filename: browsing/vsub_listing.php
Line Number: 41

I don't think it affects anything, just weird that there are blocks of error msgs attached to Quest subs. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#56A 'bug' with the number of comments upvoted in the Quest Logging box although I think the fix needed might be in the programming logic:
Dossta has just upvoted a comment in a scroll created by me-Chinese Whispers but the user-submitted idea he upvoted was Shadoweagle's rather than mine but somehow in my quest logging box I got +1 for my number of comments upvoted which doesn't make sense, +1 should go to Shadoweagle. It appears to me that this bug prob. pops up b/c currently the number of comments upvoted is somehow tracking comments on subs created by a certain user and a user's comments on other ppl's subs. What I think we need is tracking on a user's comments and don't distinguish b/w whether a sub is created by the user or not. But then, this could be sth else entirely as well. Anyhow, I still think this is some kind of coding issue. -

When I updated it and checked I didn't see any quest ones. Just missed putting that in the query. Fixed. Thanks!! -

Ah, I get it. That will take me delving into the code with my mind right. That could be a very subtle bug that you were able to identify. I would say that SE got the points for it, the but would be incorrect logging but I will confirm that. That is a good one. Good eye!. -

Actually, after a night's sleep, I had second thoughts abt whether a 'bug' really exists on this aspect or whether this is really just coincidence (and that explained why I put a quote around the word bug on impulse). The scenario I was thinking was that someone had upvoted one of my comments/user-submitted ideas on someone else's sub that was logged by the system but didn't pop up on either my recent activity box or the recent activity box on the main page when I found this 'bug' (there's usually at least 8 hrs' gap b/w my log in times and for the incidence I reported, I saw my number of comments upvoted since I registered for the Strolenati Guild Quest to suddenly jump from 3 to 5 since I last noticed. I checked my Recent Activity box, I saw 2 upvotes being listed on my subs and jumped to conclusions abt there being a 'bug')
Anyhow, still worth checking the code to find out whether it's a coding issue or pure coincidence. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#60Another display of code/error msg thingy that doesn't affect functionalities:
If you try to browse anyone 's submissions from their author profiles (doesn't matter your own or other ppl's) by clicking on Browse xxx's submissions within the Author Submissions box, there is a large page of SQL code and other stuff shown at the bottom of the page. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#61More weirdness on sub counts, I got promoted to level 10 already based on overcounting collab. subs but on my author profile, it is clear that I only have a total of 39 subs (it says so on the Author Submission box and in the Experience/Leveling box, I'm shown to have -1 sub to go). Seems to me a problem with sub counts and levels being updated at different times of the day maybe? If this is the case, can we have synchronised updating of everything at the same time so this kind of thing won't pop up? -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#62Saved a few old subs in my fav list for Lvl 2 Guild Quests and found the following oddity:
A sub by CaptainPenguin, Glass Mountain was said to be submitted on July 14, 2003 but updated on Jan 1, 1970?! :what: -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#63Good list. Right before work so will update xp count later
SQL Code: That is my troubleshooting stuff I left on. Off.
Counts: Synchs. Nope. One count is updated (perhaps incorrectly) as things happen. The other count is a once a day full count/update/fix that doesn't do everything everyday because it is a resource hog. I just have to find the bugs causing it.
CaptainPenguin: That update is correct. He is of the Captain Cthulhu sort so is able to do things other people can't. (There are other subs like that, mostly old ones that didn't have all the data others do. Jan 1, 1970 is day 0 of the unix calendar so any blank or zeroed date gets that date.
All fun catches and all deserving xp! -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#64btw, just to want to remind you to read Elbin's independent thread reporting on wrong sub counts cos I think we need more NOT IN clauses when counting collab. subs (details I posted in reply to his thread). -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#65Found the following error when trying to browse freetexts:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function guild_graphic() in /home/strolen/public_html/lockmor/application/views/core/browsing/vsub_listing.php on line 29
Also, only 1 sub pops up with a given freetext no matter how many subs are actually associated with it
Actually, what I report above also apply for Favourite Lists.
Clarification: the errors only apply to Fav. Lists if I link on the name of the Fav List. Everything's fine if I click on the Expand Fav List link. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#66Oops. Missed that one when I updated the guild graphic thing on browsing subs. Thank ye. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#67Edited my Chinese Whispers Wiki by adding in an extra humurous example and error starts occuring when trying to insert link to a comment on Mnogos, the historian of spirits. In particular, first the link wouldn't work even though I'm fairly certain that I used the exact same syntax as what I did before when I added user-submitted ideas/scroll entries for the Town People by Manfred. Secondly, now what I can see when I finish my edit is different from what I could see from Edit Mode. Specifically, after the edit and what everyone will see now is that the first example that I put in (and a bit of the text before) would be swallowed and that link to the comment is still broken. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#68[5461#85169|text] I replaced text with Muro's in that sub you were talking about and popped right in there.
You can do that without going into html mode, slap it right into the formatted post.
For the main post, that wierd link is happening because of the bracket.
Use this page to get the html entity for the actual symbol. I replaced them in the post for you.

Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#70One more bug to do with the images- the Quests link under Library. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#71I think this is a bug with the database or listing. When Axle changed his Saulberry from stub to normal sub, two identical versions of it pops up if you browse the Decathros freetext that it is associated with. Both of my existing stubs associated with the Dragon Empire freetext pop up twice and four copies of my The Dragon and its Nine Offsprings pop up under the same freetext. Similarly. for The Worm's Nurse - Part 1 which recently poped up on the front page as a Collaboration Requested, 4 versions of it are listed under the freetext Centerra -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#72The sub listings on freetext pages (after the first) are no longer links. Not sure if I said that right, so here's an example:
http://strolen.com/freetext/30
http://strolen.com/freetext/30/20
The first page of subs has normal, clickable links for each title. Every subsequent page does not. -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#73HA! Yes, that actually goes to the old version of the page somehow. Ooops.
Not doing bug fixes today but will try and run through a few that have cropped up in the last week tomorrow! -

This will get fixed with the submission page rewrite. I see exactly what you are talking about! -
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#75Links are now working on the freetext pages again (thanks!). Now, however, we're getting repeats of submissions:
http://strolen.com/freetext/Weavers Guild
http://strolen.com/freetext/cartography guild
I think it has something to do with Guild subs, since it's doing this on the 30 freetext page as well, and the first sub is a guild sub for the Divine Synod. But then again, the Dwarven Guild is not experiencing any such problems . . .
-
Re: 4.1 Bug Bounty Quest Tracker
#76Dossta, this issue you raised now applies to a lesser degree. There're no longer double ups for the Guild subs. In particular, the only double-up is now your 30 things that grow on a dwarven beard which is a Weaver sub and a 30 (it shows up twice if u browse the 30 freetext) -
