The Song of Strom
#1I gained such knowledge by always being the DM. Sure I had control of all the NPCs, but I never experienced the true complexities of figuring out the puzzles and strategies set before the characters (sob, sob).
I am thinking of posting an item I used to buy time developing a next scenario (I always had a small outline with characters and maps for a game, but prefered to create their encounters on the fly). I would always try to throw little quirky experiences to keep them guessing.
This continued drive to develop fresh ideas led me to create a system of my own. So, much of what I write will be what I used in the past, or desire to flesh out now. This seems to give me a good forum to toss out my ideas. Kinda like the character Ur'jund, I wrote in. I've had the idea for him for ten years (roughly), but never was able to sit down and give him life. I changed who his enemies are (races and characters from my system) to known opponents- drow - so as to keep the focus on him. I also found myself developing a magician class based on quick bursts of power to gain an advantage in melee combat (must keep on back burner. . . need to resist being side tracked again). -
The Song of Strom
#2Wow, nifty!
How come we usually focus our meeting in an inn or bar? I swear I am becoming a right drunk! I think I need to get to the studio create a few sculptures or paintings. Heh, maybe I could go to a market. I need a new dagger anyhow. -
The Song of Strom
#3is it true an alcoholic is just a drunk thats afraid of a hangover? We might want to watch out. -
The Song of Strom
#4Ha Ha! Anyway, I took a look at that market and They have very nice Daggers. I have some business that I need a couple for next weekend. Erg! they wont let me have a weekend off for a while. I envy you. Although some of that business is in Cedar Point. :D So after I get the town under control (They have ppl there already, they are trying to calm them so I don't have to work like I did with the trolls) I get Monday off! -
The Song of Strom
#5I want to go to cedar point! -
The Song of Strom
#6We have established this already. That is why I am telling you. Just joking. -
The Song of Strom
#7I really want to go to cedar point! -
The Song of Strom
#8Fly out this way. When you get the money, Stay at a hotel. Have FUN! :D :D :D :D -
The Song of Strom
#9I have the money, just not the time. -
The Song of Strom
#10Well, then blow something off. If you have work for a week that you want to go on, Say 'I'll be back in a week! see ya!' you may get fired but hey! who cares right? as long as you get the coaster. -
The Song of Strom
#11ummm actually I have soccer tournaments all the time! Will not blow those off for the world! -
The Song of Strom
#12Hey, sniperspy, have you ever been to Cedar Point. If not, then I understand why you have the aversion to cutting soccer for the Point. After all, the newest coaster only stands over 400 feet tall and thrusts you up the first hill at 120 mph (The wait can be anywhere from 1-6 hours, but you can reserve your spot so you can enjoy the others rides while you wait. You might have to stay at one of their hotels for this luxury, though). -
The Song of Strom
#13dude strom, Ill forgive you cause your new. Soccer is practically my life, and I don't care what roller coaster tehy have, Im playin my sport! -
The Song of Strom
#14I have to go to play my sport. Cedar Point is just a bonus. -
The Song of Strom
#15ya, but soccer comes first! -
The Song of Strom
#16Do you play every day, year round? If so, you must have an excellent support system for the sport. Are you taking this to the olympic level? One of my cousins played as far as the junior olympics for water polo and now coaches for Michigan State university. He swam year round and it eventually paid high dividends. -
The Song of Strom
#17I dont play every day, but try to. And Im gonna take it as far as I can! -
The Song of Strom
#18I swim year round except for two months. One at the end of each season.
And I have weekends off except when I have an invite meet.
I dont want to go to olympic level. No fun in that. -
The Song of Strom
#19Y is their no fun in that? Just because everyone else is a self concieted commercialist prick doesn't mean you have to be, and its a chance to face the best! -
The Song of Strom
#20It is a huge commitment to train that hard just to hope for a spot on the team. -
The Song of Strom
#21Ya, but it's still fun! -
The Song of Strom
#22Then I hope your dreams become fulfilled, and if you do compete in a nationally televised game, tell us. We could root for your team and try to figure out which one is you. -
The Song of Strom
#23will do, My dream is to play for the Miami Fusion on MLS!!! -
The Song of Strom
#24I've never heard of Miami Fusion. Or MLS. -
The Song of Strom
#25Major League Soccer! -
The Song of Strom
#26Thats cool! I just want to go to college. -
The Song of Strom
#27Im sure you will make it into a nice college! -
The Song of Strom
#28Thanks. I guess. I should say the same for you.
Most of the people here will be or are in a good college or have been, because it takes a little bit of work to get good here. So... -
The Song of Strom
#29What do your believe your course of study will be Almatari? And how many times do you think your major change? -
The Song of Strom
#30Well I want to major in Film. Like acting and directing. It will probably change from that to bussiness and English and photography. Acting is a Leetle hard to break into. -
The Song of Strom
#31wow, I still have no idea what I want to major in. Ill probably take business though so I can start my own compony! -
The Song of Strom
#32Cool! I just have an inkling what I want to be. If I can't get into thoes I phycologist. -
The Song of Strom
#33I hear it's said that one thing that separates the good and the great thespians (I wrote thespians) is the ability to show proper facial expressions and body language when others are performing their lines. -
The Song of Strom
#34Yep. I am trying to get into every play I possibaly can but I don't have a lot of time at the moment so I will (If we have it) be taking drama club and I am in Dramatic arts which you can only take once. Phoo! Stinking school! -
The Song of Strom
#35Well, with the current cultural climate, when you get out of college and you go out and people say "So what do you do?" and you say "I'm an actor", that pretty much means "I'm a stuck-up, arrogant, self-involved ass who's behind on my rent and credit card payments and I won't go lower than my metaphorical job limit and just get a gig hopping tables for some cash". Sad to say, but true. Same with musicians, only with them it's "I'm a desperate-for-cash person who didn't listen to my common sense and I am behind on my rent and credit card payments, can you give me a gig? Just any gig? Like, at your birthday party, or something, man?" -
The Song of Strom
#36unfortunatly thats true right now. I think some actors and musicians are in it for fun and what they love, but most only see the money. -
The Song of Strom
#37See with me I wouldn't say I am an actor, I would say, "I am in the film industry." I can wait tables just to get on my feet I dont mind. Beats fileing
in an insurance company. Actually I have always wanted to wait tables. Just for a side job. -
The Song of Strom
#38I want to be a substitute teacher for a week or two, just to play some funny jokes on the kids that will try to ruin my day! -
The Song of Strom
#39That would be cool. and you can know the tricks having played them yourself? -
The Song of Strom
#40nope, I don't get many subs, and when I do the teacher gave sucha severe warning the day before my ears still burn! But I would like give a test on chp. 100 when they are only on 6!!!
