#42As a new user to the realm of 3.0 I, as no doubt countless others do, wonder greatly what all those new icons mean. Why is there a book next to Rias court of sorrows sub? What does all these icons really mean?
We need a symbol explanation page.
Oh, and as I mentioned in a pm: The new icons and graphics are SWEET! -

in favorites/add, I cannot seem to be able to click on the title field for the favorites, and hence cannot add a title.
The description field works as expected.
When I submit the request with an empty title, the next page displays an error warning: no title and the title field now works correctly.
This was a feisty one dark_dragon! Found, finally with the help of the greatest designer tool ever - Firebug - that the right menu css div was spanning all the way across, invisibly blocking the form field. Very weird. 25xp for that odd one. -

#44When I login, the interface is pretty messed up for me. All of the links that should be in the title bar instead go down the page. When I try and submit a sub, the list is over the radio buttons, so I can't set them.

#45Also, when editing (and I presume, creating) a sub, there is an option to set it as type WIKI, but no radio button to actually set it. -

Wiki is a teaser for things to come. I think it mentions it is not available yet.
Val...do you by chance use IE6? You might have been our first experiment with the new css menu. -

Now.. I'm logged in. But can't figure out how to log out? Am I just missing it? Also might want to make it easier to get to the forum page. Only real link I found to it was under "Quick" and when you click "Quick" or "Library" from the main page, it brings you back to the main page. When you click them from other pages, you get a 404 error.
This is all still there.
Ah, found Logout under "Quick" while exploring, I would never have thought to look there. I think the stuff under the "Quick" menu seems more like a Miscellaneous, but useful, links sections. They don't really have stuff in common and I think they are important links that should be a bit more obvious. Or have something that would make me think to look there for them.
Got this upon trying to log out (did not log me out):

Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.
upon more testing: realized that was just from the "Quick > Logout" Logging out from the forum page works fine.
One last thing for the night, the forums seem to be kinda messed up. I don't know if we were suppose to be looking there, but all of the post text is shoved over to the right... right out of the post's box and into the border. Some other things look a little wacky too, such as the header, and the stat box.

Redid top graphics again to hopefully eliminate the menu conflicts. Any font suggestions for the text are welcome! 5xp

Frontpage HoH and Challenge viewing issue: Updated some code - hopefully works now. To see challenge you need to be lvl 4 and higher and fixed that check. 10xp
Reorganized "Quick" menu - if you have a better name or way to set it up, I am all ears. I don't want to put more in the main menu as it will get too long for those that browse minimized and it looks like crap but don't know how to make it more noticeable. 10xp
Logout, known annoying issue. Sort of waiting for the forum to go final version before I spend a load of time on that. Formatting in the main forum is quite annoying as well but that is the test one so I am not super worried about it but will try and fix it when I update the theme. 5xp

Strange behaviour:
The phrase 'got here' appears at the top of the page sometimes once, sometimes several times. It also appears in the Quick dropdown menu when logged in.
Found a couple of them. If you could give me a link when you see it, I can track it down. Those are my testing flags that I sometimes forget to remove when I get excited about something working. 5xp -

Usability suggestion: Favorites
-Would it be possible to show which categories a fav sub is in on the right column (a la wordpress tags for subs on a personal level.), so that you know if you have added a sub already.
-Could adding a sub to a category not cause page reload?
-Could the category listings _not_ show the sub's summary, but only the title? otherwise the categorised subs will take as much space as the non-categorised ones. Something like:
category one
sub one
sub two
category two
sub one
sub two
or something like the profile way of showing subs (right column in author profile)
Surprisingly, I had the favorites doing this earlier but commented them out because of an issue. You reminded me and it is fixed. When you browse a submission that is in your favorite list, using your suggestion I labeled it better (maybe) but now it shows "My Favorites" with a link to your favorite list and a list of all of your favorites under that list.
In my mind, if I have a favorite list, I want to use it. So when viewing one of the subs on my list of favorites, now I can browse through all of them easily. Is that too much? 50xp
page reload - pitiful fact of a non-ajaxed site. Staying away from that for now until it all works. Once we are live I am hoping to add small additions. Your suggestion, + - voting on subs without reload, etc. 5xp
Category listings changed to a short list. That page is only for the author so whatever they need to make it as easy as possible. Will get hellish when somebody has a lot of categories I think so removing summary might be the best overall. 25xp

Like the deiconed page. but in my profile page, I cannot access any other section by my top 20 rated.
I redid that script since then I think. Can you tell me which browsers it doesn't work in? It is javascript ran, but if javascript is disabled it should just show them all extended.
You are going to be my odd browser check guru I think! I am limited as I so most of my development in linux now so only have firefox and opera. -

Clicking a username takes you to strolen.com, not readpostplay.com
correction: This only concerns links to users within submissions. I looked at the Shards of the Storm quest, which is where I found wulfhere and Scrasamax referenced.
May I suggest a db refactoring of .strolen. to .readpostplay.?
Since this is the test site I didn't dig into any posts to update links. Those strolen.com links are hardcoded. In the rest of the site I use dynamic variables so when we swap servers, I just update the root in one spot and all the other links will transform. Once we do the actual move, they will have to be updated to match the new link format though so it is a good catch either way. On my swapover checklist! 5xp -

This is only a suggestion for a nuisance improvement:
Looking at my own readpostplay main site user profile I noticed the following under signature:
Signature: Authentic Strolenite®©
"Quick, say something controversial down there"
- Murometz (the main chat topics were utterly and irrevocably boring at the time)
Notice how the bbcode is rendered incorrectly?
and... Strolen, I it is hard for me to find any bugs. Furthermore you removed my exploits. Do you know how hard it was for me to find those exploits? Now I don't have godlike powers anymore? DANG! ;)
Oh well, back to searching for bugs and not reporting the really juicy ones! :p

What is approved or not is a whole new world to me. In theory, it should be able to work but your attempts are the first, ever, attempts at any kind of serious formatting with the new system. By the time you are done I will be asking you how to do formatting...and that is not even a joke. I offer you a 100xp for writing a tutorial on formatting and how to get the links to work!
My only other thought on the links is wondering if you are pasting from word or typing direct in there? When I type it in there, or copy and paste it from the link displays in the comments, it works without much issue.
When you write it, click on the HTML link in the text formatting bar and see what it looks like raw. Those should look the same in raw html as they do in the fancy text editor.
Is the menu still messed up for you?
20xp for being a poor guinea pig where I can't troubleshoot because I can't duplicate it on my system. -

If not I suggest you hide IPs unless the user is an admin-ish kind of person. -

This is what you should be able to do. And as level 8 you should be able to challenge and suggest a quest. Is your login bar have a red number in it? Should be a 2 right now showing 2 mod tasks requesting your attention.

Linkbacks should work pretty much how they used to by using the "Suggest" option in a sub. That box is hidden by default though so you have to click on it to reveal it in the submission. -

Minor: While main page has simple, untextured areas, the dropdown menu backgrounds are still that of the prior 'theme'.

Edit: Trimmed it back to nothing and still have the error.

#79Does not happen with editing a new sub, but then I noticed we cannot modify the font size through the editor unless we select one of the paragraph styles.
We _Can_ use the tag when editing the HTML.

Links are much more pretty now I think. :)
$_GET is completely destroyed, won't even look at those variables even if they are there.
No globals at all either except for system globals
All the links should work like they do in the old days, exactly. There should be a menu on the right of the submission page going over them still. Added ability to link to ideas as well.
