Powers That Be OOC

Re: Powers That Be OOC
#121Okay. Some background. First of all, none of the events of the previous thread seem to have happened. None of the chars quite remember how they met, but what's important is that they all work together, for a man named Jay Messenger. He's sort of a private detective, but only takes "special" cases (and does very little of the work himself). Other people with powers have popped up in various places around the world, some less harmless than others. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to who has powers, what the powers are, or where they show up. Everyone's powers have completely manifested and they know how to use them.
Any questions before I start this baby? -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#122One metagame question, and one more IC question.
1) Will we be getting more and more powers? Such as, upgrading, adding new ones, etc?
2) Will it ever come out how we met? Like, were our memories wiped, or are we just leaving it as the great mystery of the past that nobody thinks/cares about? -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#1231. Entirely possible, you never know.
2. If the game goes long enough to reach that point, yes, it'll come out. -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#124With number two, I was more concerned about the rping possibilities. Like, will they really think about it at all? Or is it really a 'nobody cares, you're all partners' deal? -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#125Aaah, that. Well, if you want to wonder about it, go for it (and you might just get some extra info in pm), or you could play it off as you don't really think about it. Either is okay with me. -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#126Alrighty. Thank you. -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#127soooo.... -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#128I swear, I'm working on it, life is just conspiring against me right now. I'll see what I can do. -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#129All right, after much delay (and serious thinking), I'm going to get this show on the road again. Or at least try.
It's going to have a different tone, at least to start out with. Since I don't really remember right off hand who's still in and who they're playing, I'm going to let everyone have the opportunity to re-establish their character in this new continuity, then I'll get to the actual mission.
Oh, and a general note about things to come. I re-use NPCs, so you might encounter someone familiar. However, unless I tell you otherwise, please remember that as far as you know, you haven't met them. -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#130How's we gonna be doing that there character generation bit, Ria? -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#131Well, if you like the character you already had, go ahead and post on the game thread ('s what I meant by establish). If you don't like your character, come up with a new one and PM me the backstory and preferred power. -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#132Note: I'm intending to join back up with John as my character, but I'm wanting to pop in fashionably late. ^^ So, start without me, and I'll pop in once it fits. -
Re: Powers That Be OOC

Re: Powers That Be OOC
#135I'm here. using the same character too -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#136ok, since nobody else is posting... I can't wait anymore but I need some info.
What do the documents that Messenger handed us contain?
does the agency have a database of known people with powers? -
Re: Powers That Be OOC
#137The documents are photos of the crimescenes, copies of the police reports and witness statements, floorplans, that sort of thing. None of the witnesses, a couple of security guards and a clerk working late saw anything useful; the arsonist apparently slipped past the guards. The clerk was actually knocked out and came to a block away, so apparently the arsonist isn't a killer. The fire department couldn't find anything useful; the reason it's being treated as arson is because it's too coincidental, they can't find any way for the fires to have been started accidentally, and, of course, the clerk being knocked out.
The agency does have a database, but it's sketchy; there haven't been too many powers that have come to your attention. Anat is currently the only pyro listed (I believe that is her ability, yes?), but it certainly wasn't her. Basically, as you investigate more of them, the company adds them to the database, but it's still a reletively new business. -
