#41"Roleplaying preferences: Who cares! The people count far more"--dark_dragon
so simple. so wise. so true. I applaud. -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#42"The woman appears as a properly wizened desert hag. Toothless, due to the toll of the wind-borne sand take and time, possessing deeply bronzed and crease-lined skin, which stretches over her bones like dried vellum. She is completely bald, even her eyebrows are shaved, and there isnt the slightest hint of body hair. The old woman is also legless. Stumps appear where thighs once were"
- Murometz
This image comes to me time and time again as I roleplay. Elders and the decaying of the human body is a far underestimated visual and mental effect. These sentences alone enrichened my GMing greatly.

#43Scrasamax's soapbox rant sent shivers down my spine! A worthy read! -

#44Pieh: "Do we have to beat up every evil thing you detect? Not all of it wants to kill us, I'm sure."
From a chat based D*D game. -

#46I am disgusted. Good work!-manfred -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#47Very funny, I quite enjoyed it but, why does it have to be evil wool? Can't it be evil cotton, evil sackcloth, or even evil silk? Well, good job- Hrofgar -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#48...Thus showing that even immortal beings of nearly godlike power should use their spelling and grammar checker. - Wulfhere -

#50"It's a bad, bad sign that I'm getting some ideas, isn't it?"
"Naw. You've always been twisted. I'm just a bad influence."

Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#51From the shoutbox:
Chaosmark - If you place an infinite number of monkeys in a room full of typewriters, you'll eventually produce Shakespeare. When you're short on monkeys you get forum trolls.
Kassil - We've proven the monkey theory to be false. The Internet has yet to produce new works of The Bard.
Chaosmark - It's a double coordinate limit. We're talking about as monkeys and time both move to infinity. Quite obviously we aren't close enough to infinity with our time as to make such a determination. -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#52I have kenned thy secret, thou perfidious volume! Now, thy secrets shall lie bare to the brethren of my guild! I need but only find my vial of powdered Dragons Liver, and I shall shatter thy wards and enchantments like glass!
An hour later, he gave up. The Dragons Liver was nowhere to be found

Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#53Captain Penguin: Well, I'm not much for it, I think it's kind of boring and cliche. However, it is well-written and obviously thought-out, so I gave it a four out of five.
{Reply}
MoonHunter: Obviously not enough transdimensional psudeopod horrors for Capt. Penguin's tastes

Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#54After building a new granary,it is customary to let a rat feast on grain. After that, there is chase and the rat is killed. Failing to catch this rat is a bad omen. ~ manfred

#56[Siren no Orakio] 7:06 pm: .... You're a necromancer with the foot of a stillborn child for a lucky charm.
7:06 pm: how is that evil? -

#59"Pardon, Sire, be that a capon in thy coddepiece or art thou most heartened to see me?" ~Wulfhere -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#60You know, with all the witty people on this site, I would of thought we would of been more quotable.
-
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#61I think most of the quotes are simply hard to extract from their context. We're witty, but not always in a universally-understandable context. -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#62Maybe we are too quotable and it's simply hard to choose the really best ones? :)
---
(conversation in an old submission)
CaptainPenguin:
Sentinel, what have we learned about one-word unnecessary answers? :)
Sentinel*:
*sticks tongue out at Cap'n*
Bite me!
MoonHunter:
Seven words. At this rate he shall be verbose.
CaptainPenguin:
*bites Sentinel*
Sentinel*:
*yells out in pain*
Anybody! I need a shot. I go rabies from a penguin!
EchoMirage:
No, you're a were-penguin now. Sucks to be you.
Sentinel*:
*woddles into a pool and howls* -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#63"However, anything is possible given enough time, the right position, and nobody checking on you, for about 20 minutes. Just hope your fellow inmate was a beaver in a past life." -Moonhunter -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#64Out of context that is really funny. Heck it was kind of funny in context. It would of been more universal had we excluded the beaver reincarnation sentence, but still funny. -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#65Wulfhere on missing quotes in his posts
The mighty hunter, Oronis Hinkelgreve, stalked silently through a dusty hall within the bowels of the Citadel, his faithful manservant Humbert close behind him. "What did you see, sir?" asked the humble minion.
"An Apostrophe Grazer has passed by here.... Recently, by the look of the tracks."
The lad shuddered in fear as he glanced at the torn steel of a dingbat trap left in the hallway earlier. Obviously, more powerful measures would be needed. -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#66Zombie quotes
Every headache, every moment of confusion, every moment of arousal, could be the Zombie Strain rearing its head.
I remember listening to a Free Radio Broadcast coming out of NYC talking about the 8th Wave of Infection. Those guys were brave, stupid as a sack of hammers, but brave.
They didn't linger through the crazy flu, they were normal one night, had a headache or a migraine, or felt horny and hungry. The next morning they would be sitting on you eating your nose

#67"My ass hurts like a truck was driven through it, yet, its good to be alive!!"

Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#68Who the heck is this evil GM that kills all the clerics??!! I wanna know :P
[Siren no Orakio] 7:06 pm: I might play a priest of the Storm Queen then. Hm.
[Ria Hawk] 7:06 pm: kk
[Ria Hawk] 7:07 pm: just as a warning, clerics don't tend to fare well
7:07 pm: Be warned: We go through clerics like some people go through underwear!
[Siren no Orakio] 7:07 pm: Priest does not always mean cleric. ;-p
7:09 pm: OK. Still...
7:09 pm: Aeth... Gutted and left in a ditch
[Ria Hawk] 7:09 pm: Glordren, swallowed up by the ground
7:10 pm: Tristan... Lightning Bolted...
7:10 pm: (but not quite dead)
[Ria Hawk] 7:10 pm: though he's not dead, just split off from the group
7:10 pm: he got better...
[Siren no Orakio] 7:11 pm: Was he lightening bolted by his own god?
[Ria Hawk] 7:11 pm: no, by his own party mates
7:11 pm: No, our mage got reckless with a wand...
7:12 pm: You see our point...
[Siren no Orakio] 7:12 pm: Oh, that's no fun then.
7:12 pm: It's kind of like being the Defense Against the Dark Arts guy at Hogwarts.
[Ria Hawk] 7:13 pm: with worse pay
7:13 pm: You could break the trend!
7:13 pm: Face off against the curse!
7:14 pm: Somehow survive, bucking ALL the odds!
7:14 pm: Heroism beyond compare!
7:14 pm: ...just by traveling with us.
7:15 pm: You could be "The Priest That Lived!"
7:15 pm: What you've got to ask yourself is....
7:15 pm: Do you feel lucky?
[Siren no Orakio] 7:15 pm: I wonder
7:15 pm: Well, do ya?
[Siren no Orakio] 7:15 pm: Punk!
7:16 pm: (We don't use that sort of language here!)
7:16 pm: (With a sales pitch like that, he's GOT to have a priest!)
[Siren no Orakio] 7:17 pm: Hahah.

#78"In the future, there will be a global network of billions of adding machines.... One of the primary uses of this network will be to transport moving pictures of lesbian sex by pretending they are made out of numbers."
I must say, despite how absurd that's supposed to sound, I still think I'd totally be like, "Dude! Start building those adding machines NOW!" -
Re: Quotes of, by, and for, the Citadel
#79I debated briefly on including it before I decided this did most cetainly belong here:
