#1249FYI. Doubt there is an issue but just in case.
So my work got a new internet filter and I need to use a proxy service to bypass it. I'm providing this heads up on the unlikely off chance that someone else is using the same IP. I'd prefer no one gets accused of being a sock puppet, and I know that you used to check to make sure multiple user names weren't logging in under the same IP on a regular basis. Not sure if you still do, but proactivity is unlikely to cause me too much headache in this scenario.

#1250Sitting at the customer location and waiting for assistance. The customer is busy today, so I can't do anything before they arrive.
I love these little breaks, though they are few and far between.
I have been meaning to become a tiny bit more active on this site. By active I mean normal user active: writing down plots and the like. As it is, I am returning to a more active Game Mastering existence, and focusing my career more on building an independent business. Not slaving at the behest of the man with the plan.
So, my vision is 4 hours a week here at the 'dell.
Note to self:
Write down Pilgrim City, plus the Valley of the two Caliph's.
Write down linked campaign notes for both RPG groups playing within the Empire (Coldforged). -

#1261Given the majority of his forum posts were surrounding his world setting The Foundation and he hasn't done anything else on the site of real note I'm not sure why he'd be suddenly flooded with notifications. I've never changed my settings from whatever the default is and I only get a couple per week if that, so not seeing what his malfunction could be. -

Design issue, but nothing new with the code and emails. Not sure why it happened all of a sudden. Unless my site was blacklisted on some hosts for some odd reason and then was removed. That has happened before for a short time with some email providers.... -

2) I've regretted my name choice for many years now - it harkens to the days where I used to play munchkin characters on an online role playing chatroom. Oh, the indignity! This is the only place I still use Shadoweagle, but I can't change it on this site because It's my identity here.

You do realize you can change your name easily as an admin right? Or just ask one of us to do it for you. ;) (Back int he day I helped Infested Jerk to change his name to much more popular "Ted" :wink: )
Things do seem to be in a bit of a mini renaissance, I have to say it's a nice feeling to log into the Citadel and see loads of new subs, forum activity and the hum of creativy that makes this place my favorite online hang out spot. 8) -

So, Scras posted 7 ways transformers movie was f'd up - I'm paraphrasing.
Axle posts for the first time in ages about how Scras should be spending more time commenting on others and not writing stuff. The irony is immense.
I think that is the kind of post that probably should be removed. But there is so little postage I'm loathe to do so.

#1273It's annoyed the hell out of me, but I wasn't going to raise a fuss over it. I'm posting, no one is commenting on what I'm doing (Except Val) but honestly I know what I'm doing isn't the swords and sorcery thing the Citadel is mainly focused on.
And with how people handle criticism, I think if I posted a submission of 7 Things Wrong with Random User's Submission, they are going to be rightly cheesed off. Plus, really, Axle wants me to take an axe to other people's work? That's mean -

Read an article about Pittsburgh and how it tried to reinvent itself as Tinseltown part 2. The article even included an element about China being the emerging market that Scras mentioned in his article. Axlerows posts from Pittsburgh. Perhaps you hit a nerve? :o -

#1277Just enabled SSL on strolen.com. Decided to figure it out. It has a few issues though that I will have to work through before I make it the default. I use cdns and subdomains so will have to modify all that before it works. -

#1279Mostly works. Should be safe to use. Forum will have issues due to graphics embedded in signatures but I am not going through everybody's profile fixing that!
Hopefully it didn't create too many issues on the main site. I had to do a bunch of url updates to make it work....hoping the ajax stays intact through it. :) -

#1280SSL-only is one of those things I've always wanted to suggest for the Citadel, but never did because of the cost concerns. Of course, with Let's Encrypt (https://letsencrypt.org/) scheduled to roll out in another few months, SSL FOR ALL THE THINGS will be a decent reality to strive for.
