Yoshimuro-no-Bakemono

Though he is shunned as a beast to the outside world, none could deny his skill.

70 xp 6,167 views

Appearance:

Yoshimuro is short for and ork, around 5 foot 5 and is heavily muscled. He wears a loose, baggy martial arts uniform tied with a black sash and tabi(Think Japanese sandals). His skin is an olive green color and his hair is night black, done up in a short mohawk on top of his head and a thick beard on his chin. A tatoo of a serpentine dragon curls from his back to the front of his right shoulder. His tusks are ivory white and his eyes are blue, a rare color for an orc. He has developed a thick emotional armor against the leers and prejudice of the unenlightened, and thus seems stony and emotionless at all times, however, Yoshimuro feels as much as you and I.

Background:

Yoshimuro, then called Yashu, was born among the Bakemono orks on the endless steppes. When his tribe, the Tengri Tayu, were massacred by samurai from the nearby domain of the daimyo Urusei Kanota, Yoshimuro/Yashu was abandoned upon the bloody field of war. As he was an ork, and orks were made for savage survival and battle, Yoshimuro survived and even prospered upon the field for months before he was discovered by Shen Shyo, a monk from the Order of the Heavenly Winds. Yoshimuro was taken to the Heavenly Winds Reaching, the dojo and fortress of the monkly order. Though he was wild and unschooled in the Way of Inner Peace, the monks saw potential in this orphan. Renamed Yoshimuro-no-Bakemono to recall his orkish heritage, he is now the most skilled of the monks of the Order of the Heavenly Winds. Though the newly-entered trainees often shun him and think him stupid and inferior and regard him as 'orkish scum', they quickly learn to respect the focused might of the Sensei Yoshimuro-no-Bakemono. The grand sensei of the Order of Heavenly Winds is ancient and venerable and has named Yoshimuro as his succesor as grand sensei when the inevitable comes. However, not all think that he is fit to attain such a high position.

Roleplaying Notes:

-Yoshimuro-no-Bakemono has many enemies within the Order, enemies who think him nothing more than 'orkish scum'.
-Yoshimuro holds no anger towards his detractors or the daimyo who killed his clan, because he doesn't remember the slaughter.
-His alignment is neutral good.

Hall of Honour

for Yoshimuro-no-Bakemono

The Hall of Honour is your mark on a submission you believe is frick’n awesome — so good you would jump in front of a dragon’s breath to protect the scroll it is written on.

Bestowing HoH also highlights it on the front of the Citadel for about a day, so others see the recognition it earned.

You may bestow HoH on the same submission up to your level (with a short wait between strikes). Five distinct HoH voters raise a work to Golden.

Actually interesting, if a little short. I'm surprised that the Capt'n would ever use such a term as 'neutral good' ;) Perhaps you could edit him a bit and flesh him out? Still, I like it.

I am not as impressed as Echo. It is incomplete.

Tabi (with the exception of Jikatabi which are something slightly different) aren't sandals, they're socks. Sandals would be geta, zori or waraji. Other than that, a steady idea.

A usable sort of submission, but nothing super creative. A surprisingly disappointing submission from a mind as prolific as the Cap'n's.
