Timtom Flyboy Butterfoot's Flying Machine

flying machine

Dear Honorary Gael Harrinveld,

Timtom Butterfoot has gone too far now, first it was his drunken escapades, then the back bar tabs, now this! Your honor, after he told me he was going to open his own place, I warned you to keep an eye on him, and then those mugs, the ones that would refill on command, I told you he needed to be stopped. But this is an outrage! That wild gnome must be stopped. I am sure you remember the incident of the explosion at his house with the 50 foot geyser of water that demolished the apartment above him, and the flying mug that did untold damage to the surrounding block before a local mage was able to dispel the enchantments, but now he's gone and made a flying machine from it, And taken to soaking our fair villagers with the water jets! As Mayor of our fair town, I demand he be arrested immediately.

Sincerely,
Albus Thentria, Mayor

During the creation of his ever-full mugs, Timtom accidentally overpowered the spells and produced from his mug a 50 foot geyser which demolished the apartment above him before tipping over and flying through the wall and wreaking havoc upon the surrounding block. After being run from town, Timtom began the construction on his greatest creation yet. Several more geyser-mugs he made. And mounting them beneath an old wagon, managed to lift it 20 feet off the ground. Several more modifications and he built his flying machine, enclosed and able to reach heights of 40 feet. He also created a personal version on a backpack that could lift him up to 45 feet.

    'I've got a flying machine!'

A very interesting way of presenting a flying machine, though not the most original of bases to work with ({sarcasm}Gnomish flying machine. Gee. That's never been done before has it?!{/sarcasm})

    The backstory is hilarious!

    3/5.

Wheeeeeeeeeeee! I've got a flying machine. Those rascally gnomes.

This could be priceless if the flying machine flew about on jets of beer instead of water.

I would like to see more machines and contraptions built by someone other than a gnome. Very nice introduction with the outraged letter. Gotta give a point for that, and a point for making me smile with a gnomish invention.

heehee beer, yeah we were toying with the idea, but ruled it out simply for game mechanics, though the shoulder mounted oil spewing flamethrow was intriguing... bit overpowering ;P

Holy carp! This is the best flying machines ever! Beer-Jets, Ahoy! The letter was a great intro. I was reading, wondering what a gnome opening up a store/bat could have to do with a flying machine, then the ever-full mug, then the flying ever-full mug, and the transition from mug to machine was so gnomishly appropriate that I had to read it twice. This is great stuff!

Nice start, good flavor text, but too much we don't know. What's its duration? How fast can it go? (Heck, how do you steer the thing?) How many times a day can it be used? Exactly how sturdy is that wagon?
