Star of Tears and Blood

This sword, enchanted with the dark magic of the Underworld, is wielded by Never Ending Silence, a Death-Knight.

Upon the promotion of Never Ending Silence to High Death-Knight his mistress, Frozen Priestess Adorned With Bloody Feathers, the Death-Knight deemed that the blade he held, a well used sword that had cleft the heart of demon and living one alike, was no longer worthy of one of his station. He drew into the great Labyrinth beneath the Underworld and sought a tunnel which would lead him to the Pit of Oblivion, where he had sold his name and become a Death-Knight. Coming upon this place, he looked out, seeing the cyclopean well-like shaft, constructed of ancient stones, that drew to Oblivion. Below him, he saw the roofs of the tombs of the Death Gods, sitting silent and dusty above Oblivion, their whispers unheard but never forgotten. Something caught his eye: A flash of metal, a shimmer of jade. There, below him on a crumbling ledge, lay a magnificent sword, with a handle of dark jade, entwined with Lizardfolk gold for grip, and a hilt of lighter jade studded with black jems. A blade of shadowy steel, mostly straight but sliding to a slight curve at the end, completed the sword. He picked it up, laying it against his pale palms. It was the perfect weight. This would be his sword. He named it Star of Tears and Blood. The sword has served him well, and he would not think of parting with it.

Magical Properties:

Star of Tears and Blood can cut through the majority of normal, unenchanted materials. Mithral can be dented by it, orichalcum and adamantium scratched. Any spectre or spirit of the dead that is of lesser power than a death-knight is utterly annihalated and sent to Oblivion if touched by the steel of the blade. If the sword is held by a mortal or a living soul, the curse begins. At first, the holder's fingers itch mildly. After a few times touching any part of the sword, the itch develops into a tingling, and, soon, a burning. From the burning comes painless rashes, and soon, open sores on the hand and fingers. Not long afterward, the sores begin to weep a black substance that begins the process all over again if it comes in contact with living flesh.Suggested submissions to be used with this setting

I like the story you open with. It sounds to me like your death knights were both native amercians based on their names ;-p (not meant to offend anyone)

Never Ending Silence & Frozen Priestess Adorned With Bloody Feathers are beautiful names! Throwing in First And Night Crowned Wolf to that also!

the names alone evoke an emotional sense of awe and immediately spark the imagination! Like some grim, sinister fairytale. The sword is ok, but the names are unforgettable!

This must be the worst post I have ever read by you, CP. Hehe.

Reminds me of my old stuff though ;)

Totally munchkin and with an empty story. I notice the bare bones of your later self though, the very essence of that which would reach its zenith during '04 when you created such lovely stories that I would never forget them.
