Moonology Manuscript

A recently re-discovered odd treatise

Moonology Manuscript

This ancient document was discovered by Baron Ogus Loresco inside familial crypts, beneath the estates of his expired rival the Countess Crubidonde.

The ancient script and diagrams describe a world with five distinct moons in the sky above, and a dying, anemic sun, the color of drying blood, pulsing weakly like a failing heart.

The manuscript focuses on the moons; naming depicting, and describing each one's virtues and mysteries in turn, and rambling semi-coherently on the mythological aspects of the five orbs, in an archaic language which would take linguist-sages months if not years to decipher

Amarmeela Mother-of-Moons, Amar-Kais, Amar-Vais, Amar-Oonar, Amar-Tarmeena

The riddle hidden inside the manuscript is difficult at best to discover, but those who are wise and those who are dogged can learn the secrets within. For whenever the Five Moons are aligned a particular way, that is to say, when Vais and Kais 'cling' nearer to their mother Amarmeela who glows blood-red with motherly love, when Oonar the Gray sulks far away into the night sky, jealous of his mother's love for his siblings, appearing as merely a dull pearl, when Tarmeena the Golden hovers dangerously close to the earth and smiles with lust and greed for the earth's splendors, so shall the mysterious 'Gate of Five Moons' open to even the uninitiated, and they may thus enter within. Of course, this is all 'explained' in a convoluted, esoteric way with maddeningly obtuse text, and bizarre, non-Euclidean illustrations and diagrams.

The actual origin of this document is truly unknown.

As far as what lies beyond the Gate of Five Moons is up to the GM. Perhaps the gate allows those who enter to literally visit each or any of the Five Moons described. Five whole new worlds of mystery and adventure.

Rather than celestial constellations, there are sigils and glyphs that the five moons form, each moon forming a point or specific position within the symbol.

Hmm, I can't quite put my finger on it but there's just something about this stub that makes me really like it.

Just popping this back out from in-works. Not sure why it was there, seems finished to me :) And it’s too long for an idea seed, so yeah, out with ye, as val says.
