Small green gem about the size of a large thumb. When touched by somebody other then the current owner without his consent it immediately shrinks the person that touches to half his size.
Made as a joke by a good intentioned wizard. He had a good friend that just happened to have a habit of touching things in the wizard's lab without permission sometimes causing some unwanted mishaps. The gem, created to try and curb this compulsion, would shrink the person that touched it to half their size. It became useless when his friend was killed meddling in the business of a not-so-pleasant mage.Magical Properties:Upon touch by somebody other then the current owner it shrinks them to half their current size. Any natural resistance is automatically neutralized by the power of the spell.

Shrinking of people may be useful if trying to hide in shadows or in places an (over) average-sized hero would not fit. Or let your halfling explore some rat-hole. What's the duration?
I think this could be a scroll for all sorts of look-but-dont-touch things that a mage might leave in his stuff to deter people from touching. These could be limited to the comical to alarming for a good aligned mage, such as the toucher turning a vibrant color, or their voice turning into deafening animal noises. For a more evil wizard, there could certainly be a vivacious black idol that when touched turns the toucher into a nearly mindless carrion crawler for several hours. Later when they revert to human with a mouthful of rotten orc intestine they have learned a valuable lesson.
Thieves Guild jingle:
We represent the Lollipop Guild
The Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild
And in the name of the Lollipop Guild
We wish to welcome you to Munchkin Land

(They keep trying to steal the gem, you see, and-----)
Interesting idea, though the "Any natural resistance " would be turfed in a heartbeat. This is a human-made item, not made by the gods..
