Creeders Magic Dentures

Dentures, magic dentures.

185 xp 3,281 views

The product of addled, pica-afflicted wizard, these are a set of one-size-fits-all false teeth, almost supernaturally white. They are very powerful, for they allow the wearer to bite and chew everything but strongly enchanted material, and to safely consume it. Even hazardous materials such as nails and glass may be eaten without ill effect, as if wax.

Inedible material provides no nutrition, and seems to disappear once eaten. Materials with some nutritional value (wood, bone, etc) will feed the user, though poorly. Pure liquids are unaffected by the dentures. The user must have no teeth to use this item.

Dentures are not, in fact, anachronistic, and could be found in some form in a fantasy setting. With the high availability of magically strong metals dentures of a quality rivialing modern dentures could be produced. In earth history, there are articles stating that they have been found thousands of years BC, and in some cases, even fanged dentures may have been used.

The Hall of Honour is your mark on a submission you believe is frick’n awesome — so good you would jump in front of a dragon’s breath to protect the scroll it is written on.

Bestowing HoH also highlights it on the front of the Citadel for about a day, so others see the recognition it earned.

You may bestow HoH on the same submission up to your level (with a short wait between strikes). Five distinct HoH voters raise a work to Golden.

A quite amusing silly item, bonus marks for leading me to learn what an affliction pica is.

This is a fun item, and with plenty of use! If a PC was willing to smash his teeth out he could keep these in their place. Next time he was put behind bars, he could eat his way out! They could be used to get through walls if you're patient enough (and can open your jaws wide enough to get some good starter bites!) Also good to get rid of incriminating things; Eat the dagger you just used to assassinate that councilman!

In fact, there are so many uses to this item!

    - chew through chains

    - 'beaver' down some trees for construction

    - Eat bone or wood for survival when no other food sources are around

    - It it molds things as though they were wax consistency, they could be used to flatten iron for specific uses by chewing on it.

    The list goes on!

Also, it seems to have all the necessary information for a 100 word sub. Nice one, Val.

Could you use them to eat something intangible, like a ghost? (making notes for Pac-Man for D&D, don't know if I should go for Barbarian or Ranger though)

I thought it was going to be a real sub from you this time, but apparently you just forgot the 100 Word label again.

If you are interested, check some of my older subs. Brevity is a new development :)

Yeah, but all your others have a little comment below the heading so one can spot em from the front page. That's what I meant.

If you have issues with the usability of the site, or anything else off-topic, please take it to the forums and leave these comments to discussing the actual sub.

Does the stuff disappear once chewed up, or only once swallowed? I like SE's idea of being able to chew something up to 'mold' it into a new form, then spit it back out.

    *NPC insults party*

*PC casually grabs the bastard's favorite tankard and chews it up. Spit out a solid lump of metal a few seconds later*

*NPC and henchmen flee the scene*

I'd leave that to the individual GM's judgement. I had essentially considered chewed materials destroyed, but I see no reason not to allow this - especially since it is quite entertaining.

In case anyone is wondering, you can add an icon as follows:

In summary, add the following tag in HTML mode:

    {img src='http://strolen.com/graphics/guild/100word125.jpg' width='40' height='40' align='right'}

    Where { } are replaced by < and >

Do you add this to the summary box or to the main sub? At the top, or at the bottom?

Summary box. You need to save the sub once before the html editor becomes available in edit mode.

That is freaking cool. I updated all my Weavers Guild subs with the icon and it makes them so much easier to identify in a list. Thanks for revealing the secret of Real Ultimate Power!

Funny little item. I can see this providing plenty of amusement for the party. It has the potential to get quite out of hand if the GM allows it.
