   Noticed that all the recent ideas get all the hints, while some of the "5 sword" ideas are barely getting a glance. Can you think of a way to maybe get the quality up, not that the new ones don't deserve to be viewed often, just want the good ones looked at as well.
   
   Was thinking of some kind of nomination thing every month. A Citadel Gold Star award in each catagory every month or something. Would have a seperate linke that has just the favorites of the month or something...I don't know, help me. Just something to bring our favorites out of the long list of wonderful submissions and give them a little more sunshine.
   
   Or maybe need to get that shopping cart thing going as well, then people can save their favorite shopping carts for others to view or something.
   
   Maybe all of the above. Any more ideas? Or does it only bother me?

   I think the swords themselves are to blame:
   
   Material better rated gets more of those dull looking swords, while the "worse" ones get more shiny white swords! Should be changed somehow...
   
   But its logical if someone surfs in and looks at the first few to get a feel of the page. Few have the time to look at all 62 Plots, 34 Items, 18 Characters and 80 Ideas. A good and a bad news, two in one.
   
   Would need a listing sorted by the rating, handily accesible. Quick peek... oops, is there. Probably not used by the average surfer, nor noticed by myself, hmmm...
   
   Maybe force upon all unregistered users sorting-a-la-rating? Registered ones may get the newest to look at. Only the first view of course, anyone can choose the sorting afterwards. Unclear this one.
   
   And how about the "guided tour", HotList? or what, the best ones in categorys of Twisted plot, Bizzare situation, Roleplaying the hard way, Mystery mysterious ... whatever category we may think of. May be created by a single person or several.

   Yeah, the shopping cart. High on my list. Right after the "new since last visit" and emailing comment notifications. If I can get the time the comment notifications would be a pretty quick fix, page with new...well that might take a little longer because I have to write fresh scripts for the pages.
   
   Shopping cart...well that will be interesting to say the least. Have to write that thing from the ground up pretty much and decide how I am going to store choices. Sort of know, but don't have an iron map of the process yet. It shall be here by the new year though, that is my goal! Yes, a long way off...sort of, but I am swamped with classes and work at the moment.

   I guess I can make a new thing instead of the swords. Not sure what exactly to do about that. I could make the 'white' swords all black or something. I made those myself so I have all the stuff I need to change them. Low on my priorities, but it made the list.

   Maybe black swords with white dots/sparks for a magic look? or somewhat coloured? The brown ones should be more down-toned to the background, so it is like: HERE could be a sword, if it were better.
   
   It would be nice with the Shocking Cart, but best would the New on da page thingy.

   Instead of the brown swords, I could very quicky, and easily, replace them with the same flames that we use for our post counts.
   
   Would that work better then the swords? For now, I want something weapon related eventually.

   Yeah. There isn't a rating thingy on the ideas. You should add that.

   And perhaps a way to reply to great ideas? Some are quite brilliant and deserve some recognition.

    Never thought too much about rating them or having comments on them.
    
    I think rating would be a bit much. Most of them are just factoids and a rating is sort of useless.
    
    A comment system though to build on an idea might be possible though. Not sure how I would set it up or how to go about it.
    
    I am still of the feeling that they are fine how they are. If there is an addition to one of the ideas, another idea would be fine I would think, just summarize the other one or something. I don't know. If you all want it and will use it, I can put it on my list. I will need some help figuring out how to exactly do it though.
    
    Maybe a way to link to that idea and use it quoted somewhere else or something. If they spur a plot or something then there is a way to acknowledge it? That what you are talking about?

    The linking would be a great start, and maybe all we need. Some of the ideas really do lead into plots. After all, some of the items, itching poweder for example, and a little on the sparse side for details, but they can cascade into full blown plots it the right things click, like the waffle shaped gears that run my brain.
    
    Linking sounds like the way to go for a start. People get credit for thier ideas by someone else builing on it and people can comment on the idea's new purpose. Sort of the principle of this site, if I remember. :lol:

    This site has a principle and/or a purpose? I thought I was just goofing off to waste some time. hehehehe
    
    Will make them linkable. For these, I will figure out how to make the link actually grab the complete idea and handle it sort of like the quotes in the forum with the author's name and everything. I think that would work.

    Ok, did it. I made the idea ID visible on the Idea pages so you can use that to link. It is only available in the plot area at the moment. If we like and think it is needed elsewhere, will put it there once we are for sure happy with the results.
    
    In the Plot you will simply use anywhere in the main plot portion. Since we are actually sucking the idea into the post there is no need to link it to anything with the surrounding tags (although that will not harm anything...I don't think) If it becomes an issue I can fix that.
    
    Anyway, when you put in that idea link, it will basically use the same quoting format as the quotes in the forums (white box) and show the idea with the author. Then the plot will show up directly after it.
    
    I think that is sort of what we wanted...isn't it?
    
    Figuring out this allows another option. Would you think it would be useful to have another link at the top of each submission that gave the option to "View All Linked" and then when clicked it would show the same screen except with all the linked submissions actually displayed under the main submission?
