   Oh dear. If you ask these questions you haven't spent any time on the site.
   
   Trees and other things never make sounds, they make waves that our ears interpret as sound. The nature of what the tree makes never changes, the question is if anybody/anything is available to interpret.
   
   So does a tree make a sound? No, it never does, all it does is manipulate the air around it. We interpret this disruption and pattern into sound.
   
   Thats my take on it anyway.
